- In this video, I respond to fellow UA-camr Brenda who is the content creator for the God is Grey channel. The traditional-affirming difference over the answer to the question on the thumbnail is something which strongly separates Evangelicals from Progressives. In this upload, I interact with the arguments which Matthew Vines and others have made in relation to Bible passages which deal with this subject including Genesis 19, Leviticus 18 and 20 and 1 Corinthians 6.

the heading "God is grey" itself is a heresy. When the bible clearly states that "...there is no darkness in Him."
Thanks Allan for this video, precise and on point! I wouldn't mind if it was 2 hours + long. I remember few years ago when I was arguing with the progressives christians in my community. It was 10 against 1 (me) and they used this very argument from Matthew vines. Back then I didn't know who he was and i wasn't having experience arguing this kind of people. At the end they remove me in every of their group chats coz I point out that Satanic Bible condole homosexuality along with others.

I went to the Jonas brothers concert last night and and I went with the mindset of not idolizing them, but having a great time. I love live music that is appropriate. Was all of it appropriate? No, but there wasn't all kinds of profanity. For one, I have never been crazy about many famous singers, because they are like me with a talent and more money. However, after it was over I started contemplating.. was my dancing too much? was my singing too much? Was my cheering after the songs ended too much? Was it too far that I idolized them. I don't know what the line with that is. All I know is I had no intention of an autograph or even buying their T-shirt, because I felt that that would have really been idolizing them, so I did not do those things. I am sincerely wondering .. did I go too far?
I asked God for his forgiveness anyways, because I am not sure if I did or not. Some thing tells me I must have if I question it.

By what you wrote and how you asked for forgiveness shows the conviction in your heart. God gave us a conscience for a reason. Continue putting God above all else. We can enjoy others gifts but we need to be alert if we begin to put others on a pedestal. Mean welling Christians often idolize preachers and teachers by taking their eyes off God and putting them on man.
The Holy Spirit convicts us for us to be aware and careful, it's a good thing.
I admire the fact that once you felt convicted you prayed for forgiveness immediately. That is exactly what we should do, don't give any extra time for the enemy to deceive you.

It’s kinda funny to me that you’re responding to Brenda. When I first started watching Christian content on yt her channel was the first one I ran into. There was something about her describing God as “grey” that didn’t sit well with me. I unsubscribed from her and shortly after I found your channel! Haven’t looked back👍🏼

He wanted you to be here. He has a plan for your life and He loves you so much more than you can ever imagine. Not even your family could love you as much. It's not possible. He called you by name when you were in your Mother's womb. Jesus the Christ waits for you to come to Him in faith and repentance. He will never force you to love Him or even try to make you receive Him as your personal Lord and Savior. That is your own personal decision. Sadly, you can only reject God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son (as your personal Savior) just so many times until your heart becomes hardened and it is forever too late. Even then, when you are incapable of receiving Him as your personal Savior, He won't abandon you. Jesus said: "I will never leave you nor forsake you." The decision is yours to make. You should hear the testimonies of men who used to think just like you and called themselves atheist and what God has done in their lives. It's amazing! I apologize for the length of this and I won't bother you anymore.

Sadly....not always. Many a time Gods judgement is to give them over to such sin. And the Spirit will not grant repentance. Sexual sin is so deadly serious.

Brenda’s videos are full of comments that begin with “I’m not even/really a Christian...” and ends with “but I like what you have to say” or something along those lines. It’s a dead giveaway she isn’t preaching the Word of God if the non-believers like what she says.
If the world agrees with you and goes against scripture, you might be on the wrong side. Right?

That something I immediately noticed! I don't think I've watched a full video from her, but when she came on my radar, alarm bells immediately went off. First, it was her channel name, then it was the subject matter she was discussing, and the comment section of the videos from many non-Christians who totally agreed with her. But no comments were saying that she had planted a seed and they committed their lives to Christ. And why should they? It seems as though Brenda doesn't believe that sinners need a Savior, but maybe it depends on what Brenda defines as sin. Either way, her message is disturbing and this is the first video I have seen disputing her.

@@ArmednotTriggered good point, however I can personally say that Brenda's videos made me fall in love with God and I'm a devout Christian again who studies and reads her Bible daily. If her work is work of The Enemy, the enemy did a good job to lead me back to Christ.
Additionally, the name of her channel is ironic and captivating. It's not because she believes God really is grey, it's because we, sinful humans, live in the grey, trying to get back to God.

Alan, this is from experience. Conviction of the Holy Spirit was the only thing that stopped me from trying to twist the Scripture. Matthew Vines sees celibacy as a hinderance to what he wants to do. If you view it that way then yes, you will be depressed and maybe even suicidal. I tend to think of it as God letting me know that I don't get my way about everything. He created me not the other way around. I'm afraid that they need the same kind of Conviction. It will take them to their knees begging for forgiveness and mercy. It did me. I would rather have God in my life than sex. Thanks for the video.

I was sinning when I knew it was wrong because well, depending on the day, I had a different excuse, "I'm Special" "God wants me to be happy no matter what" or what turned the tide "He won't hold it against me because He made me this way." So I had to have an intervention because I could have talked myself right into hell. lol I will never know why He did it for me but, I'm sure glad that He did. I have other sins like everyone but this one messed with my mind. I'm not looking for anyone. Just like you, I have my relationship with Him back and I couldn't be happier. Don’t know about you but I’m not just looking for sex within a romantic relationship. It’s a lot more than just sex.
Matthew is chaste. Although not committed to celibacy for life, he is committed to not ever having sex before marriage. He's like 32 these days and has kept this promise well his entire life, so saying he's choosing sex over God is really unfair. The Reformation Project is not all about sex by any means, and I encourage you to look right to their materials for a more clear picture. @@deniseadkins2901

We’re all born in sin. But Christ calls us out of it. No matter how you were born, once you belong to Christ, you’re given a new life and called to fight against that sin with the help of the Holy Spirit. I've been mentioning her to other Christian creators for a long time, hoping for someone to respond to her false teaching, and so far all the responses I've seen of her have been from atheists saying how great she is and how much they love her.

She identifies herself as a Christian but inserts Secular Humanism into her beliefs. She preaches from feelings and emotions to not make people feel terrible or shamed about themselves. She thought a Christian was all about following a list of rules and her past marriage didn't go well which is why she hates purity culture and Christian concepts. I think she grew up in a Christian household and church tradition but she never found God personally or knows who Jesus really is which is why she's in the Progressive Christianity cult. She gets it a lot by people saying that she's not a Christian, how can she call herself Christian, doubting if she's saved or not, false teacher, and Progressive Christianity is not Christianity. I used to be in a similar mindset to that. I used to be Catholic then Baptist then lukewarm Christian (maybe a Progressive) then Atheist then Believer again (but still hating concepts) then to Fundamental Legalist then to actually finding God personally. I don’t call myself Christian because you can call yourself a Christian and still go to hell. Also debates Christians fight about and bash one another and critiques and arguments about who is right and who's wrong that are all pointless arguments. I consider myself Theist, Disciple, B.A.C.O.G which stands for Born Again Child Of God, and Saint. I'm not perfect. I'm not better than anybody. a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is all I need after what he's done for me. Repentance and obedience goes into that relationship. That's what makes him the lord of my life not just someone I pray to only when I'm in trouble just like I used to do when I was spiritually useless.

I know I am going to get slammed for this but Brenda is an example of why women are NOT to be in positions of authority over men. Not even to instruct them on certain matters. Especially when it comes to teaching the Holy Scriptures. It's one of the main reasons our Country and some Church's are falling apart. Like it or not, God placed man as the Spiritual Leader of the home and places of worship, etal.
Women have their own work to do - and it's very special and important in God's eyes and should be in ours, too - but some women just want to be in control over men. To work alongside them is simply not enough.

The fruit argument never made any sense to me. An adulterer might be a lot happier in their second marriage, perhaps even becoming a more even-tempered person, but that doesn’t make it right.

That is the thing that bothers me about Brenda. She basically says that as long as something feels good for you it somehow makes it right. What about sociopathic murderers? They kill and it feels good for them. Is it right? Of course not. That’s why our feelings shouldn’t control us; they aren’t always right. God is the only one who knows what is right and he has spread his word so we only have to worry about following his word.
Brenda is a heretic, speaking heretical things with a cute grin in order to take in those who do not discern the wolf in sheep’s clothing.
I was 5 years of chronic illness! I was Semi Housebound, lost my health, job, finances and my fiance left me. I couldn't even look at electronic screen for 5 minutes, or hold a 10-minute conversation.
But God did an amazing work. And if he can do this, he can do it in you also. 👍🏼
I now have a Christian Channel where I encourage people and show them what God did in my life and that there is hope for you also. ✝️🔥☺️

Lion Of Fire. Amen! I'm so happy for you. My only daughter passed away four years ago. Eighteen months later, I was diagnosed with cancer. I had two extensive surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation. Less than a year later, I was diagnosed with a different type of cancer. More surgery and cancer treatment. I'm now in remission from both cancers. I have some other health problems but our Lord has loved me through all of this and literally held me together while I prayed and believed in Him. What a mighty work He did. I still desperately miss my daughter but our Lord is faithful and He carries me through the bad days when I have a grief spike. One of my greatest comforts is seeing my (9) year old granddaughter (my daughter's only child.) We just have to "let go and let God." I pray that you will remain in good health. God bless! 🙏

Just watched the Matthew Vines, Sean McDowell debate....Vines clearly tries to twist scripture , and runs from actual scriptual text on every question. Hes trying to make the Bible fit his lived experience and agenda rather than the teachings of our Savior Jesus Christ, the apsotles, and old testament authors.
This was gold and probably the best exegetical breakdowns I have heard on this subject. Vines actually preached at our church this past Sunday and it was extremely clever. The trojan horse is that he holds a "high" view of Scripture and the Gospel so no one orthodox could have any question with his message in general....but then introduces all of the arguments presented here. It's what I believe makes him one of the most dangerous voices in poisoning the church. And it's already poisoned my church and it's heartbreaking

Liberal Christians always try to discredit Paul, but the other apostles CLEARLY viewed him as an apostle.

I have a few questions and statements to share with you all.
On the subject of accepting homosexuality you can say we “cherry pick” and twist the words of the Bible, let me ask you this: if you do not allow for interpretation(through a specific lense) and consideration of the time period of the Bible then the Bible affirms slavery. It is clearly stated that slaves must obey their human masters, so then what, according to you guys slavery is okay? How do you reconcile with slavery then, please tell me without any “cherry picking” because if you cherry pick for this issue, then why do you say we cherry pick and that we are wrong. Apply this same concept for the trinity, the Bible does not mention anything about the trinity, yes some verses can be interpreted to support it, but through interpretation and looking through a specific lense. If you hold the trinity to be true then why is it never stated in the Bible and why does it contradict the Old Testament which says your God is one. All of this applies to the treatment of women too, if you did not consider the circumstances and time period of the letters of Paul, women would be barred from speaking in Church.
I myself don’t know anyone(well) who is openly gay, I myself am not gay, I have nothing to gain by affirming gay rights, the reason I do it is because I know that bullying them and mistreating them has never worked, I know that they love each other sincerely, and I see the words of Christ encouraging us to create a more loving world. It’s pretty clear that conversion therapy is ineffective and that they were born the way they were, it our job as fellow human beings to love them, accept them and treat them as our equal because they are equal in every single way to us, they are human.

I agree with you. The problem what I have with some Christians is that they condemn others for not having the same interpretation of scripture as they do. Just like how we look at the cultural context for slavery, the same can be applied to the LGBTQ community. Regardless of whether whose right or wrong, we can respect each other without calling the other side “heretics”, “people who are trying to twist scripture”, “heathens” etc. I don’t agree with everything progressive Christians say but it breaks my heart every time conservative Christians judge them harshly. It is not Christlike and I feel it in my spirit.

I am truly sorry that you were hurt by other Christians. Sadly, such Christians will continue to exist which is unfortunate. All I can do is apologize on their behalf. Almost all cultures believed have believed that marriage is between a man and woman. Even if the culture practiced polygamy. The core foundation of man and woman still existed. You forget those 80 years ago. LGBT were in the minority and even considered extremism. Transgender and Trans able are not rooted in reality. Why are you saying that Trans able is not rooted in reality but transgender is somehow rooted in reality? This commits the special pleading fallacy. You exempt transgender from the same criteria that can be used to judge other Trans lifestyles.
You are correct that every sin doesn’t hurt people. A man or woman can have a promiscuous lifestyle without hurting anyone. After all, it follows the secular advice: As long as there is consent and no harm, there is nothing wrong. I don’t think that being gay is a sin. It is not your fault that such things happen.
