Its funny because as a onexplayer x1 owner myself I felt all these same exact feelings. But I did find one tiny solution to the bad controller problem and that is to use a 3rd party adjustable tablet style controller and connect it via Bluetooth. Doing this you can often find one that is much better suited for the bigger and heavier size. That being said I also agree about the ROG Z13 Flow probably being a better buy here because of the fact that on the used markets they both sell for around the same price yet the Z13 has better everything from dual fan cooling to rtx graphics that smoke the 780m in performance. I actually found one with a 4060 and he was including a xg mobile egpu with it for 1200 us dollars and that was 3 days after I just spent almost 1000 us dollars on my onexplayer x1 8840u model used (I know I paid almost the cost of a new one but that's because it was still pretty new basically). Had I seen that z13s were selling around the 800 to 1000 dollar mark used I probably would of went for one of those instead to be honest.
Also worth noting that the handheld category is going to get extremely hard for companies to make money in going forward I think because the simple fact that cloud gaming is becoming such a popular choice now. Think about it you can play most the big games on cloud gaming now and use something like a android smartphone or tablet and Garner a even better performance experience so long as your Internet connection is fast enough and you will also get way more battery life vs natively gaming on device. Those are the exact reasons why I still most of the time cloud game on my handheld PC devices because the battery life and performance are just so much better when doing so. I can game at 4k ultra settings and 120fps when cloud gaming and use less than 10watts of power!!!
Oh wow! I actually wanted to ge the Z13, but couldn't find it cheaper. The one I saw was with the 4060 and goes for around 1900Euros. But then I saw the OneXplayer, Amd version with 64GB Ram, and 4TB SSD and decided to get it instead. It was on sale for 1380 at the time. I don't regret getting it though. Atleast now I can get an eGPU and use it with oculink for desk setup. I just feel sad that It doesn't really meet my needs as an Handheld, which was what I was really looking for. For example, I play eFootball, and because of the controllers, I find myself loosing 10 out of 10 games in a roll. I am not a professional, but I don't suck that much))
For me, it’s support, I mean if you could buy one from Amazon in the EU etc I’d buy one, but the fact you can only order direct from china, and then if it goes wrong or it’s DOA you have pay yourself to send it back to china to then try an battle an RTM etc, just headache, no thanks.
I totally understand you m8. Got mine from Droix.net for €1440 on sale. It’s the Amd version with 64GB RAM and 4TB SSD. Luckily I only paid 150€ for custom services to deliver to EU Germany. Funny thing, I’ve placed it on sale for 1400€ so I can have money to get another product to review for my channel. The struggles of a new UA-cam Channel 😂😂
After having the X1 for a few months, I totally agree with you. I probably should have got the X1 mini because the ergonomics of the controller are really the worst part of the overall package. I now play almost exclusively with the X1 in tabletop mode with the controller separate. And that's a shame because it's a great device otherwise.
I haven’t used any of those and that’s simply due to their form factor. In my opinion though, this one is better. The point is, al the handhelds have almost identical internals and maybe sight difference in fps. That’s why choosing the best is highly subjective.
My dude, you hit the nail smack dab on the head 💯‼️The controllers suck🍆‼️ I would love for Hori to design an aftermarket option for the X1 in the likes of their split pad pro for the Nintendo Switch. The analog sticks and direction pad and function buttons are placed perfectly!
I've been wanting to get it! But if i do I want to buy the max specs which is $1500 this is a dream device for me, but i can't afford it. Once I save the money I would daily drive it.
Is the X1 Mini better for controller ergonomics?

Which particular controller would you reccommend?
I have a X1. Its fantastic. My favorite over the Ally X and Legion Go.

looks beast. great video bruh keep it up
Appreciate it

Very good explanation
Great review as always samson. The z13 is a better buy to me. I also prefer the form factor of the x1 mini
Not agree. YOU can find lot of postures to make It really confortable with thé stand. Better than the unoptimized Legion GO
You mean it will be better if it was steam deck Style
@@evilcrashbandicootthetouho2753 That won’t be possible anymore for the X1.

Why would you buy the biggest one and talk about how uncomfortable it is? Smh
Just get a laptop or either a smaller handheld.
