I did notice that when the green mushrooms are stepped on by the runner, it emits a sound that reminds me of a Geiger counter when detecting radiation. Possibly hinting that these mushrooms are radioactive in some way, for whatever reason.
during the trailer the dogtag that drops has the same face as the shooter that shoots the runner. and the body being contructed also reminds of the shooter like in the end the lips being painted are the same. So underlying storyline here can be the runner shot the shooter earlier and the shooter respawned.
Im really want bungie to pull through on marathon. Im really hyped and i know what build i be going for. It will be a heavy weapons tank build. I also will love it if you can build trust in your favourite faction. Like maybe if you join and only use a factions weapons and give them like 50% of your loot. The factions will give you awards or maybe when you in a match the faction will send in a drop pod full of ammo and health. Im going to sub to you now.
Its a crime that this will likely be online only. It's just antithetical to this series. Singleplayer let them deliver an incredible story. It's depressing they have to make everything online only multiplayer.
It's a little sad to hear that they're going to change the direction of character creation to "Heroes," as I had to convince myself that the idea that an Extraction Shooter about Marathon would be a good idea and it turns out they're going for it. It embroiders all that vision they had. About the fact that the story would be written by us players (something similar to Helldivers 2 perhaps) as the seasons progressed, the collaboration between strangers and possibly the customization of your character. I hope this doesn't end up being an Apex Legends with some survival elements altogether, maybe the only thing I like after all is its beautiful art style.
The modularity reminds me of Death Stranding and the idea might be taken from there, i assume fall damage/getting hit can lead to the packages falling off. This also helps them sell visual cosmetics like the undersuit and helmets and keeping the loot itself separate entities
I want this IP to be taken away from bungie an handed to a team that is passionate about the extraction shooter genre. I have a feeling that there is chaos within bungie at the moment and that they are not an “effective team”.
I wouldn't say it's in the Halo universe but many terms and themes from bungie games continually pop up throughout their catalog. For example, it's generally accepted that the player character from the Marathon games is a "Mjolnir Mark IV Cyborg" obviously similar to Master Chief's Mjolnir armor. The primary AI character in Marathon (Durandal) is named after a mythical sword, while Cortana is named after the sword "Curtana" "which bears the inscription "My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durandal"". Bungie works with themes and concepts that carry over and if you enjoy the lore of the Halo games you will probably find a bunch of stuff you like within the Marathon games. I just posted a video that broadly speaks on the lore of the Marathon games if you are interested, thanks for the comment!
Traxus came from Marathon originally; Traxus was the first AI that went rampant in the Marathon universe. It's mentioned in level 4 of the first Marathon.

Subbed for sure. This man has the lore!
Thanks! If you're interested in the lore I just posted a video that breaks down all the main story stuff in a pretty digestible format!
@@jakethealright Most definitely! Already watched. xD Good content man, keep it up!

I know Bungie has taken alot of flak lately but Im holding out hope they can turn it around.
6 months later
Not looking good
Very exciting, hoping we run into a security officer and all the og aliens with some new ones!
This is a fantastic analysis. Love this.

Hero shooter thing is not confirmed. Pretty sure it isn’t gonna happen.
I’ve been waiting for a new bungie looter shooter since 2018 when I quit Destiny 2. Lol
afaik it will be an extraction shooter and not a looter shooter but y same
Lol same
Colour indicates nothing when out-of-context. In fact, everything means nothing when out-of-context, physics is not deterministic

Interesting idea. I haven't thought of a death stranding style system for the loot but that could be cool. Thanks for the comment!
Nothing is confirmed from actual bungie that its a hero shooter or class til then dont know anything.

I hope this game dont turn out like Star siege Deadzone
Bruh I saw traxxus. This is in the halo universe?

Bungie has always had a habit of bleeding their worlds together sometimes. Halo rocket launcher for example.

This is not Marathon. Its a cash grab.
I'm hoping for the best, hopefully we get some more insight soon. Thanks for the comment!
They have pronoun overlays in the interview. This game is gonna suck.
Yup
That pronoun thing has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the game, you're just wrong.
