  • In this episode I keep on battling the lava fields of volcano Pacaya in Guatemala. The slopes are steep, the rocks are big, uneven and sharp. I continue to crash and fall and start to doubt whether I will make it to the other side.

    Noraly: Nay, we ride!
Gotta say this turned out to be one of my favorite episodes. Felt so proud of you, conquering those fields. Must have been very tough mentally as well, in the middle of nowhere, tired as hell, barely making progress, can't really go back nor forward.... But you pulled through. So proud. Great battle, great spirit! Hats off!

My parents, both alive, were adventurers in their own right. They took us in the 1970’s to Mexico from Costa Rica by car. On their many trips we went to Tárcoles where alligators are seen now from a bridge. But to get there, we had to climb to Monte del Aguacate in a terrain like the one depicted here. Mom’s Renault R4L was up to the task…Thanks Noraly for reviving these memories!

The good thing about the brutal lava fields, besides the accomplishment itself, is that you significantly increased your skill level. I was smiling as you were talking about the low grip of the road tires, while blasting through sand and even rocky sections that were once a challenge. I bet you could return to those black roads, and it would be much easier.

it is beyond 'normal' :) and can't agree more with the above, Noraly you not only great and very nice and likable person but also super tough rider. Long distances, very difficult passages and terrain to the extreme many would refuse to take on. I can bet that numerous extreme enduro riders would drop their bikes in such terrain. In this episode, the riding seems to be a lot harder then in any stage of the rally in South Africa you took. Yes, your skills, endurance and happiness it is :) How many do you think, might be encouraged by you to get on the road seeking true adventure in the best possible way?

Also I had an awesome experience with a honda salesperson in Pennsylvania (who was terrific and professional) and happened to be a 27 year old woman. I was impressed and was trying to figure out how to let Honda know that I was choosing this dealership that is a 10 hour drive from my home because of this person. For the record, it has Nothing to do with her gender. That said, I just learned she was promoted to Sales Manager. It is a big job. I wish here well.
I will see if it is okay to indicate what dealership.
FYI. Another dealer near this one said they were basically asking for between 2000 and 2500 more than msrp for the bikes and appeared really sleazy.
My local BMW dealer is also staffed with disrespectful people so I am having repairs on my beemer done 4 hours away.

You said "I can do this" and you did it. You fell and you got right back up. You kept a momentum going but that last fall where it took a couple of attempts to lift the bike and then get the side stand down I think I would have said a few cuss words and at least kicked or thrown something. What a great example of overcoming frustration.

Most people don't realize how dangerous that loose and sharp volcanic rock can be, made me flinch every time you slipped around on it, I bet your tires took a beating. Glad you made it.

When Noraly comments" The struggle is real" I think if this video supports her comment very well from almost crashing the drone and even dropping Alaska a few times 😂but hey! that is the of travelling on a motorcycle let alone to do it solo it's just amazing.
    Must be nice!!! ✨✨

Incredible patience, courage, resilience, mental strength, physical strength to endure such a tough terrain. First time I saw a bike rider ride through a hard molten lava rocks. Kudos to you. May the Lord always be with you. And last but not the least the brownie dog recognized a wonderful human being and that's why the Almighty takes you through the toughest routes without any help. Wish you Godspeed !!!

I was cheering you on through that lava field! I could hear the effort and tell from the camera angles that this was something new. I have ridden through volcanic areas when I was young and stupid and it is amazing how you discover that you can do what others consider impossible if you really don't have a choice! I am so proud of you. You set a good example by DOING and not complaining.(although I have found it cute when you do complain because you are so bad at it, that is a very appealing part of you) You got yourself into this and you WILL get yourself out! Where, WHERE did you find the energy to play with Dylan after that ride? I would have invited the dog in to nap if it had been me I think, but running in circles? You crazy lady! Keep the rubber side down! Ride long and prosper!
