Thanks for the shout man! My biggest tip is a heat shield on those headers, either a factory one adapted or one made out of heat shielding material. Will save your brake booster and other cables melting and leaving you stranded (ask me how I know 😂)!
@@efxr6538 I have found double ceramic coating helps a little, but nowhere near as much as heat shielding. The stuff we have on our website is super effective and pretty easy to bend into shape.
I didn't watch more than a few minutes in before commenting, but a priority for all the EF/EL owners should be finding a louvre for the rear window as some slight damage protection against impacts on the glass.
The only other problem I found with my setup with the 4480 was in traffic the heat was melting the bonnet so I built my own custom alloy bolt on heat shield free from the government a hundred K sign double layer bent up on the folder with stick on heat stuff on the top level of the shield all nice and cool under the hood and the scoop on top pushes the heat out on the move
I got 4480 on my AU intech manual xh there tuned length with race cat and I knocked the guts out of it as it melted even though it was a steel guts one 100 cell still fucked up and melted sounds mint now really deep on limmi and down low with only a 2 1/2 inch system with stainless turbo muffler and 15 inch dog with 4 inch stainless tip
@@efxr6538 no not at moment as I’m doing panel work on it it’s pulled apart but I’ll definitely do a video as I can still start the engine. I’ll have do a video soon it’s nearly out of fuel ⛽️ I should put some more in
@@michaelbyrnes7944 Fair enough, keen to hear it! Does the stainless turbo muffler make much difference compared to a standard cheap muffler off ebay, like a Redback one or something?
1997 XR6 and XR8 can get " Full Exhaust System " without any Tunning required. 2003 backwards most cars can put in a full exhaust system. 2004 onwards only Catt Back System without Tunning. Put in a Pod filter in your XR6 .
Hey mate im currently building and restoring a ef xr6 and will be adding a turbo to it. Ive noticed floor mats and i cant find some anywhere likes yours and i want them so bad. Could you please tel me where you got them from? Thanks

Getting them ceramic coated would help a lot too I guess?

Cheers, will have a look.

That would definitely help, but I don't really like louvres that much.
Nice EF, and I’m the same, prefer stock looks, but each to their own.
@@richardbrimble1319 Cheers, yeah stock looks, just sitting a bit lower. 👌

@@michaelbyrnes7944 I've heard the 4480's can do that, as they sit closer to the bonnet and also can melt the plastic coolant tank.
I've got the Pacemaker "spaghetti" extractors on mine.
They work really well even on a stock engine.
Both are definitely a big upgrade on stock manifold. Wouldn't mind trying some 4480's to see if they are much different.

Yeah, that would sound nice! Got any video clips of it?

I wonder if the original heat shield would still hide the 4499s?
It can be used, have seen it done before, have to bend it a bit though.

I used to have a pod filter, it did sound cool! Maybe get another one someday, but with a heat shield for it.

Mine are aftermarket ones off ebay, got them years ago. They are actually for an AU I think though.
