- We went to the introduction of brand new 2022 Yamaha YZ85 and YZ85 LW. We had our young test riders Sarynn and Timothy trying these 2 stroke dirt bikes for a first time. I think the big wheel is a good choice for you also! It might be a bit more of a challenge to get comfortable on, but we don’t get better if we’re not pushing ourselves!!

I was either 14 or 15 when I got an old yz490 I was a pretty large kid though. I definitely felt better on a bike that was to to large as opposed to one that was to small.

@Travis Stamper no man your missing my point I just know dude is not a beginner he's been doing videos on bikes for a good while I'm sure he's at least moderate at riding

I’m a 52 year old man 5’6 tall and that big wheel is perfect for me 😆😆

Have you ever considered doing a video of home set ups for dirt bikes, garage,building set ups that different people do, be pretty interesting I feel, maybe a few from around the country, east coast, west coast, give people different ideas for set ups.
Less unsprung weight with small wheel. You need a 105 or 112 to compensate for larger heavier big wheels

Bike size and purpose is pretty much what he is saying. My parents were faced with that decision one time. The choice was a KDX 80 or a KX 80. They chose the KDX because the seat hight was lower. End of day, they chose the wrong bike and paid for that choice.
What was the problem with the KDX, just not right for the type of riding you were doing? I do know the differences between bikes, just curious!
@@ssb557 The KDX was fine and I loved it. But just like you asked, what type of riding was I doing.... Simple answer is, it doesn't matter. I mostly rode the bike in the woods but I spent a ton of time in the gravel pits. Either way, if you think a certain bike is too tall or too powerful, you might be on the wrong side of the argument.
@@williamevans6468i have that problem.. i have a crf250r and i feel it to tall and to heavy for me. I use ir in dunes and it"s so difficult to learn. Im thinking of get a 85 big wheel
I’ve rode all the bikes 2 strokes 100cc 250cc and 4 strokes 150’s to 300cc’s. but no experience on a 85. I’ve lost a lot of vision but I still wanna ride. Do you think a 85 would still be fun with the big wheel kit for a guy who’s 150 lbs and 5’7. I know if I jump on something bigger I’m gunna ride it too hard and prob die lol
My man, I am in desperate need of help I don't know what I'm doing, my 2010 yzf250 does idol normally with choke but as son as you put back choke in dies I'm really new in dirt bikes so I don't know what to do

I’m 5ft 5 and weigh like 9 uk stone I’m new to riding I’ve only ever owned a 125cc Chinese pit bike what would you recommend for my first proper bike
my son is 5'5" 120lbs and he is on YZ85 big wheel, that bike fits him great right now
I'm 200lbs 6ft tall...will suspension work for me on large wheel? A 125 is too expensive.. I already have a crf300L pimped out built for me I just want a 2 stroke to play on!!!

Saryn is taller than that, she is my friends daughter, but my son Timothy is 5'3" and he feels good on a big wheel.
