  • HEY. So you may have seen these makeup tutorials on tiktok and insta reels where people are using super full coverage white concealer to cover up their dark circles, brighten, and lift their eyes. WELLLLLL I basically always do this now, but I DON'T use a ridiculously thick white concealer and slather my foundation on top 🙃 So imma show you what I do to coneal, brighten and lift 😘

I agree with this so much. The only time I would is for making eyeshadow stand out, and even then you don’t need a lot. I’m pretty fair but even the white is too light for me. Thick coverage isn’t my thing anymore now that I’m in my mid 30’s. Great video as always!

I've always like the way you do your make-up, it's light and looks natural...other videos emphasises on thickness of products they file on their faces..I will be 70 years old this year and I agree that as you get older changes of the way you do your face is important and not try to cover it with so much crap...loved your style 😀

I really appreciate that you don't use skin filter for your videos. Your skin is already beautiful as it is, and I find that being honest about skin texture and how foundation & concealer doesn't hide that makes me feel better about myself, also teaches me better about how to use makeup for my own face.

I’ve actually been doing this with a white or ivory matte eyeshadow, on top of a bit of eyeshadow base (so the eyeshadow sticks a bit better. White for when I want it to look more cohesive with a cool eyeshadow look and ivory when I want it for a more natural/neutral or no-makeup look. )
I use the white concealer by ELF or the palest (0.5?) concealer by Kosas to mix with other concealers that are a touch too dark for me.

I've kinda been doing this for some time.
Once I understand the light and shade rule, I applied it to my concealer steps.
    # Apply concealer as usual (a doe foot either side of the eye), dab out.
    # Using another concealer (two shades lighter than the previous one), apply one small dot either side of the eye AND a thin line in the "trough" area. Let sit for 30 seconds and dab out.
The areas of dark circles are diminished and the "trough" area has been "brought forward".
    Works every time 😊. 💗💜💗

I like to watch your tutorials very much, not just because you teach in a brilliant way, but because you have very similar features to me and practically almost the same skin tone.
But what honestly makes my day after watching any of your videos, is feeling more normal, confident and pretty. Because of owning the same quirks as you do (hollow eye sockets, purple circles, greyish dark inner corners and weirdly dark outer corners, creasy lower lids since the age of effin' 5) and seeing You mushing your face into the camera and working and dashing with all of it - is just the most encouraging way, after how most beauty ideals are around us.
So to put it bluntly: you are very pretty and therefore I am, too and we rock. Hope you have a nice week : )

I’ve stopped wearing mascara on my lower lashes for the same reason! I think dark, heavy lower lashes are great for 60s looks, or for creating a rounder, more down-turned eye shape. For me at least, the middle of my lower lashes are the longest and fullest section and can look pretty dramatic with mascara. So putting mascara on my lower lashes sort of draws the attention down (creates height) and to the centre instead of up and out, like the upswept, lengthened eye look that’s popular rn

Question about this: what if you were JUST doing this for photos and you were doing some facial restructuring with your highlight and contour? Would you still recommend just using a lighter concealer, or would you go for white in that scenario? Since this is me we’re hypothetically talking about, I’m even fairer than you (if you can imagine such a thing) with a true neutral undertone. Thank you! I always learn so much from you!! 🖤🤍🖤

Believe it or not but "back in the day" (mid to late 1980s) I used to use a white Maybelline stick concealer to draw a white stripe down the center of my nose to "slim" it... it had a decent consistency not unlike my holy grail Max Factor Erase concealer. I also used to use an off white powder eyeshadow to camouflage blue veins under my eyes over my fair skin. Now at 52, I'd love to have a white Maybelline Age Rewind concealer to play with because of its thin consistency and ease of blending.

Great video, I love the info. I'm a middle aged broad that can't sleep, so I can't use the heavy coverage. Stuff just sicks into the lines and waves hi. Do you know if the elf brightening pen is any good?
Much love to you and yours!
