In KotM, they said that when Godzilla and the MUTOs destroyed Janjira, Las Vegas, Honolulu, and San Francisco, the entire cities were terraformed by the radiation the Titans emit. And then later in the movie, the ENTIRE WORLD is ravaged by the Titans. Washington DC, Moscow, London, dozens of cities and countries across the globe were attacked by Titans, and then after King Ghidorah is slain, Godzilla becomes their king. I was so excited to see what this new world would look like now that the titans were awoken and roaming free, but too bad we never get the slightest mention of what has changed since their awakening, movie had to focus on more important stuff like Millie Bobbie Brown, the podcaster guy, and the kid from Deadpool 2 talking about bleach and tapwater
@@TheDuckyDino It was more brutal and a fair fight, godzilla loses but still hit mechagodzilla and fight back, making his "death" more impactful. Especially after what he's experienced in the last film with Dr. Serizawa and his sacrifice?" If he wasn't going to have a significant part of the story, they could of just explain that he is on his daughter's side but he can't do anything due to work and that's it, there really wasn't a reason to take a step back on his development
Mark and Dr. Chen should've been in this movie instead of Maddie and Josh because it at least make sense for Chen knowing something is wrong with Godzilla and why Mark wouldn't want to investigate it
Agree, they could show us Mark and Chen being a couple (I ship them since Godzilla 2, if you pay atention, in KOTM, aside from Chen explaining to Mark about her family, in the scene where Dr. Serizawa sacrifices himself, the explosion makes the sub shake and then, she grabs on Mark’s hand)
Chen was in the movie, as well as a ton more with Mark Russell. AND THEY FUCKING CUT IT ALL! Damn. DMan1954 said in a thing that he and Up From the Depths did with a couple of others (can't remember who off the top of my head), that he felt this was the absolute best version of the film. That would be released theatrically. There is a much better movie on the cutting room floor. I, more or less, agree. And Film Theorists of all places recently did a video hypothesizing on what that cut would have contained. I think that video actually got pretty close to the mark too!
OK, does that mean we will get Kiko? And maybe they should build up to the MonsterVerse version of Minilla or Godzilla Jr. (and this time, no more donkey noises, smoke rings, OR him saying, "Godzilla said that I should fight my own battles, you know", my guess is that MonsterVerse Minilla will look like a smaller version of the Big G and can put up (and win) a fight of his own (in other words, he will be more like a better version of Godzilla Filius from the Anime Trilogy, but still retain friendliness towards humans like OG Minilla or Godzilla Jr.)).

Well if you go by the story of Yamato no Orochi, King Ghidorah's design was inspired by the Orochi minus 5 more heads. Since MechaGodzilla has King Ghidorah's brain pouring beer into the system makes sense. Orochi was defeated by getting intoxicated.

Yeah, my only real problem with the Godzilla side of the story is that they could and should have had just one scene of exposing Apex to the world and clearing Godzilla's name. Would have made their plotline worthwhile. Other then some other nitpicks I agree, 4/5
Actually, the Iwi were evacuated off Skull Island before a remnant of Ghidorah's swarm engulfed the island. Jia is the only Iwi LIVING on Skull Island.

The director for this movie has gone on to say they had to cut over 3 hours of extra footage because King of the Monsters didn’t do as well as they wanted at the box office and weren’t certain if they could release the full movie Adam Wingard had made. I’m seriously hoping they release a director’s cut of this movie, because it could be so much better. I’ll admit I’m able to make peace with and/or kind of explain away the plot holes and weird choices so I don’t really have any problems with them, except that Ren Serizawa was underused when he’s related to a very important character. The basic characters we have I felt had just enough background and reason to be there to influence the way the story goes that I was ok with them, though getting more of them to make the characters and story better would be great.
G14 deserve more love. Seriously, the characters weren't great, but they weren't annoying, and the plot didn't contradict every single detail in the monsterverse every second. But for some reason this movie is the masterpiece because kong did the monkey flip while flying with purple rocks, and godzilla broke his jaws while creating a meme, while G14 is criticised for having limited godzilla screen time and basic human characters (just like 90 percent of any monster movie and godzilla movie ever created). The fight on the aircraft was fun though.
Yeah dude literally throughout the entire movie I kept repeating "Wow okay then I guess we're going in that direction. I gue-guess this is happening". But I'm glad they did because Godzilla drilling a hole directly into the center of the earth was INCREDIBLE. But yeah I really wish they would stop putting major interesting story elements into the books.
Yeah but king of the monsters was better because it explained the plot and the characters reasons better and it had fun throwbacks and Easter eggs for Godzilla fans
I thought this film was absolutely amazing! Yeah, I do hope they make an extended cut eventually. But, as it is now, I'm personally very satisfied! This was just such a fun ride from beginning to end. Those fight scenes! HOT DAMN!
Hell yes your doing Godzilla vs Kong best Tuesday ever. 0:43 nope son of Kong, a skull island animated series on Netflix and a Godzilla TV show on apple plus is next
dude me too, I was like they DOWNLOADED A BATTERY! and I was very disappointed on how they treated Madison considering she was trained by eco-terrorist and they wasted her potential. Also, there is so much information that is not given in the movie, I found out by spoiler on who the ren guy was and was annoyed they didnt elaborate who he is and why he was doing it.
I honestly think they could have done much more with Nathan. They clearly planned a character development for him, whats not with him being a coward originally and changed for the better. According to GvK novel, Godzilla hate Kong species because they hunted other titans and enslaved them. Godzilla had live long enough to see all the massacres unfold but Kong is just an orphan, who knew nothing of his ancestors' wrongdoings. He's the victim of a tragedy. Had they implemented that lore, they could give Kong a perfect parallel with Nathan. Nathan who's just a YES-man to Apex despite their evil intention while Kong has his evil ancestor's history dragging him down, making him a potential pray for the heroic Godzilla. By the end of the movie, Kong decided he will fight his own battle, not letting said history decide who he is, making Godzilla spare him in honor of his choice. Nathan meanwhile would learn from Kong and decide to stop helping Apex and fight alongside Jia in favor of saving the world : Doing something that is his own choice. This would not only add depth to Nathan's character but would also make the audience understands Kong more as he now has a human parallel who, in a sense, went through the same journey he have, while also solidifying the reason Godzilla hunt Kong (which i felt is a lil bit lacking. Ancient rivalry indeed but Godzilla felt more like a bully when you consider Kong knows nothing of him)
I agree. It was even established that when the movie was in production Alexander Scarsgard said that his character was more or less an "average" person who's not full-on heroic but will push through. Just like Ford in the 2014 movie I think his character was a little sidetracked and underdeveloped. Nathan was a decent character in the movie but I think they could've him a little more background and showed his relationship with his brother before he died. I think Kong using sign language was a little under utilized. His relationship with Jia is interesting and I wished that they would show more of Kong's intellect of sign language other than "saying" home.

Orga sounds piss because if this is the final movie then he won't get a chance to appear in the monsterverse
7:57 Ok, I know this sounds stupid but that book looks legitimately interesting. I’ve never seen it before. Book review perhaps MIB???
I want the book now 😩
Legendary somehow made a hour and a half movie feel like 20 minutes
Not even joking, i watched it at the cinema, and it wasn't even split into two halves for a break.
@@succubastard1019 it was kinda bad really, they could've had way better music and made it more of a movie than a short story
Fun fact : the creator said Godzilla wasn't at his full strength because he use most to dig a hole in the center of the earth
There's gonna be a Monsterverse "Son of Kong" film apparently
I like how Orga acknowledges the people who will comment about the book
“Possibly last film”
*Legendary not even 24 hours ago:*
*haha son of monke*
Seeing Kong fight Mechagodzilla is like seeing Sonic fight Bowser.... it was amazing
dude me too, I was like they DOWNLOADED A BATTERY! and I was very disappointed on how they treated Madison considering she was trained by eco-terrorist and they wasted her potential.
IT’S ABOUT TIME!
The return of the King
I really enjoyed this movie, but man do I wish they showed the Godzilla vs Kongs war. That would have been awesome to watch
If you look carefully, there's a Godzilla skeleton in Kong's throne room. The ax was buried in its skull (I think).
ConstantineFurman Oh, that’s actually pretty cool
What the-
Is no one gonna talk about how Orga barley *Just barely* talks about Mechagodzilla.
He said his name and then just forgets About It.
*EDIT, never mind, I bought the Book adaptation of this Review.*
YES I was so excited for orga to review this
I love that Legendary's Mechagodzilla is basically Space Kiryu.
"Last in film in the Monsterverse"
Reporters: Adam in works for more legendary monsterverse.
I love that where getting more
I’m so happy for orga to review an Godzilla movie
Good shit Orga!
“Oh Good! The movie came with homework!”
-Orga
Orga: "Congratulations Legendary Godzilla! You are now the most powerful Godzilla in history! Shit be damn." Godzilla: "Fuckin' A". Hahahahahaaha! Awesome review. Overall Godzilla Vs Kong is a fun movie that combines story beats and scenes from previous Toho Kong and Godzilla films. It is the best Legendary Monster-verse movie in my opinion and that is on repeat viewing at this house as well.
You always have a way to make me laugh😂
Mib loved all the points you put out there especially when the spider thing took the energy from the holo earth that was the stupidest thing ever, when it started printing in the apex place i literally got up and got a water.
Also where can i get that book
YES. I’ve been waiting for this!
I remember I used to watch this guy when I was 8. So many memories r goin through my head rn. I thnk imma cry🥺😭
Great video! While a fun film, it has flaws that unfortunately brought the movie down in some parts and missing plot elements that are very noticeable throughout the narrative, especially the one with Serizawa's son which really bugs me. Despite the flaws, it's still enjoyable that finally given us the rematch we have been waiting for!
Just watched this last night and HOLY SHIT I loved how insanely goofy it was!
Orga's back in the house in! :D
Now everyone's together and let them fight monster island buddies 2021
I think I know how they made this movie
King Kong skull island
Godzilla King of the monster
And the last recipe mechacodzilla
Holy shit, Orga. Now that's a monster i have not seen in a long time. Man, good memories.
I had a completely inverse reaction to the movie, and yet I finally feel so validated by this review. Thanks, MIB.. err... Orga.
Do you plan to review the two legendary prequel books of Godzilla vs Kong on your comic book review series?
That energy thing I can explain even without expanded material.
All Apex did was take a sample of the energy, scanned its signature, and sent their findings to HQ to be synthesized.
Looks like kong finally got that rematch, and *oh boy be careful what you wish for.*
Seeing orga laugh so hard is so satisfying for no reason
