Felt so much better after doing this. It’s really useful to have this while it heals, these past few weeks have been hell. I’ve struggled with breathing due to the tightness throughout and it’s stopped me from doing pretty much everything.
Same, I’ve had this for 8 months now and it hasn’t gone away at all. Lost my job and I’ve basically been stuck in my house because even just walking hurt. Took several doctors to finally figure out what was wrong with me. I hope it gets better for you!
@@Omnibushido-that's horrible, I'm so sorry you lost your job. I've been dealing with this for just over a month while going to work. Stretches and OTC pain meds help but working manual labor 5 days a week isn't allowing me to heal. Good luck, I hope you can see a chiropractor or pain specialist and get back to work and living a pain free life
Wow, I just had a nasty bout of Costochondritis where I have trouble breathing. I have checked a few times for heart issues, and they couldn't find anything. I also had a rib resection and rotator surgery on the left side, where I have problems with it. So I will incorporate these stretches from your video into my regular stretching routine. Thank you very much, and I look forward to more content coming out!
So helpful! I literally did these exercises throughout the morning in the hospital and had at least a 75% decrease in my pain by afternoon. Doctors were puzzled and impressed.
I am really glad i came across this video. I get costochyndritis twice a month and its very debilitating! I am hoping this routine will help mein the long run. Thanks 😊
Thank you! I watched 2 videos b4 yours and left after a few min b/c they just blabbed forever instead of getting to the point. Thank you for getting right to it! You got my subscription 😉
These look like very good exercises. I have been suffering three months with rib pain thinking it was intercostal strain but a gp has just diagnosed me with costochondritis as l am getting shooting pain into my left arm even though heart problem has been ruled out. I was doing some upper body stretching but irritating the nerves under the rib. Doctor told me to do no stretching for six weeks but now developing more inflamed symptoms so this controlled exercise may really help.
@@TheNoepje Depends where the strain is. If the first seven ribs are attached to the sternum that is what Costco is in affect when the muscles are hurt. I am still suffering with mine five months on. My whole right rib cage went into a spasm. As the spasm eased off l started to get spasms in my tummy and nerve shooting pain in my arms. I tried the backpod for five weeks and helped greatly but l lacked the flexibibility to continue further. Then l sought a good massage therapist to really dig into the intercostal muscles and the back and l felt five per cent better although painful for a week. Now l am on my first week of physiotherapy exercises, gentles ones specifically prescribed by my local physio. If that does not free the remaining 15% tightness in my rib cage then back to the sports massager. I suffered severe costo so l am of the opinion several different approaches are needed. I may even see a chiropractioner eventually just to get some adjustments given how long my rib cage has been pulled. It is frustrating and worrying but compared to what l had l feel a measure of hope. It is a nasty debilitating illness and l do feel everyone's pain who has had or is suffering with it.
@@tinosobak5871 Yes. I sought the help of an osteopath twho did manual treatment on me. It took about 4 sessions to cure the problem. The back has to be manually treated as well.
My costo is too inflamed to massage the sternum. It hurts to touch that area especially pressing down. But it's one I can try once I get it a bit more under control. Ibuprofen 800mg doesn't touch the pain. It's terrible.
very frustrating issue came back again lately. i also feel it a lot in my ribs on the side or pinching when i do cat cow. the side stretch really felt the most tightness. thanks
My costochondritis pain spreads to my neck, shoulders, shoulder blades….. I am in the middle of a flare-up that has lasted 3 weeks so far. It is the worst when I wake up in the morning. It appeared out of nowhere while I was lying on the couch one day almost 10 years ago.
any update. going on two weeks for me and came from nowhere. left side of ribs just below left pec. door stretch immediately sharpens the pain. very hard to sleep.
@RyanVecchi I found a post from someone on Reddit that recommended sleeping on your back as flat as possible. I started sleeping this way and I really feel it is helping. I also bought the Backpod and I work with a chiropractor. Oh, and I got a flu shot which immediately triggered it. It turns out that vaccine causes inflammation, so watch out for that. I am doing much better at the moment.
Hi. These exercises have been very helpful for my costochondritis. I was wondering if you have any suggestions for women suffering from breast fibroids as to how they can go about getting a deeper massage on their chest using the roller (or something similar), when the fibroids themselves are tough and at times painful, thereby preventing getting the massaging to the deeper tissues
@@101marsi I have. It does not help. A very small dose of kratom and the backpod are the two biggest things that actually allow me to get some respite from the constant pain.
Hi All! How to open up the upper ribs on the back (mid back and up) I find it is very tight around there and I find most of these hit more of the lower ribs/joints

Yes all the time goes from stabbing pain to Sharp electric pain it’s so severe plus pain and crushing around rib cage 🥹♥️ your not alone hope you feel better ♥️
I have been dealing with Costo for a long time (years) and this video is literally the only thing that has given me relief.
