A great addition to the series! Been eagerly awaiting this episode and it was definitely worth the wait. The route you have built is absolutely amazing, from the stations to the places of industry and the towns all really capture your version of Sodor. Love the character of Roy, he’s a natural teacher being really patience with Thomas as he adjusts to running the line, I do hope he has a great future wherever that’s taken him. I hope we do see more of the old engines interacting with the new engines of the NWR. Really enjoying this series 😁. Regards Joe
Interesting headcanon for Ffarquhar, as there is audio of Awdry pronouncing it like they do in the tv series. Perhaps they did that because Awdry made an input when they were developing the show
Can I just say? I think North Western is brilliant. I’ve enjoyed every episode thus far, and I can’t wait to see what the next installment brings. Keep up the brilliant work.
Brilliant work as always mate and with this being your first original piece for NW just shows how creative and talented you are. Keep up the good work mate and lookijg forward to seeing more
Great job Dark, a really nice original story that adds a lot of depth and lore to the series. I really like your take on the Ffarqhuar Branch and its operations: it’s well laid out, and definitely seems ready for a few more engines in the future what with the larger stations and expanding goods traffic. I like the nod to Roy as the previous operator on the line for the former company too. I’m curious to see what happens with him: originally I was thinking the quarry may have bought him for shunting trains, but now I imagine he may be sent elsewhere. Tidmouth Harbour perhaps? Great work as always, can’t wait for the next installment!
Great video tom , I love the way you've adapted the source material and made it your own it's a great route and with brilliant opportunities for story telling well-done
Looking forward to it too, though it still seems weird to me that Toby won't be a tram. Does seem a bit like change for change's sake, and removes part of what makes him Toby to me.
Amazing work on the episode Dark DJ! Can't wait for the next one! BTW, why weren't Annie and Clarabel in the episode. Do they not exist, or has Thomas not met then yet?
Tom, I love your work. Yet, this series is sort of boring. I mean, it's more realistic but loses its charm from the source material. It looks nice though, but there's no investment to get into. Still love Dark Railway Series!

I hope Roy finds a nice yard to work at.
Just so happens that Thomas has left Vicarstown without a station pilot 🤷🏻
@@Combes_ But is Roy strong enough to shuffle the Express Coach Rakes?
@@lukemendel8197 Percy is a similar size, and he could.
@@Combes_ fair point. Thomas did say he was overkill for the piloting work.
Wasn't unheard of for Sir Topham to withdraw pregrouping engines. I don't think Roy will find a yard.
I like It I cant wait to see more episodes of North Western.
I missed these so much

I like how Roy is a stark contrast to Thomas
Thomas would rather pull then shunt
While Roy would rather shunt then pull
I liked the character of Roy, I think the series does well so far with the little changes.
what a wonderful day
I say!!
It’s finally here
Well will learn a bit of history of this branch.

very good episode, liking the addition of roy and has added a nice bit of lore to your sodor universe. Keep it up 👍
So Annie & Clarabel are a 3-set of coaches? Are they LMS style coaches like the RWS and is Thomas able to do push-pull services with them?
Annie + Clarabel + Special/Missing Coach. Nice bit of foreshadowing if that’s the case.

Annie, Clarabel and Roly.
Fantastic route building as always tom, story was great too. Having the engines interact with the pre-grouping engines is a nice touch.
The Sodor map was actually created by Glennock Creations, Tom just added some set dressing to make it more pleasant to look at.

Well done as usual! I do wish that Roy had been a coffee pot, like in the behind the scenes RWS lore, but even still it was a great episode.
I love the shade of blue you chose for the nwr
Im honestly warming to this series more than the dark railway as its quite a lovely AU
I can't wait to see percy and toby.

Let me guess. Roy enjoys shunting more because he used to only do it before some big event happened that caused his 'brothers' to be sent elsewhere?
