The best review I've seen on UA-cam overall. To the point, informative and added features I would not have thought of. I wish more presenters would follow your format and style. It takes a lot of time but for the viewer makes it easy to understand. Thanks.
I have the Blink doorbell. Bought it in April when Amazon had it on special offer. You do not need a subscription as it records to your mobile (cell) phone where you can save videos you want to keep. That lets you put them on your PC. I've got it now working with my Echo Dots and my Echo Show 5 as well as my phone. You don't need a separate chime either. If my Blink detects motion, it announces on all devices. If someone rings my doorbell, the Blink chime is also heard through all devices. Downside is it drains the batteries faster and my son just changed the batteries while I was watching this video. We've put in our own rechargeable batteries so will see how long they last before we have to swap over the batteries again.
At the moment we've only got the doorbell but are considering putting up Blink security cameras front and back of the house at a later date. If we do that, we will also have to get the Sync2 module. I'll wait until Black Friday is on and hope they'll all be on special offer.
The motion detector on mine went off a couple of weeks ago late at night. We have a pear tree in our front garden (I'm in the UK by the way). I had to laugh when I saw a naughty fox swinging from one of the lower branches helping himself to my pears. A "Gerr-out-of-it" through the doorbell chased him off but he's getting used to it now, just looks towards the door then carries on robbing my tree 🤣so I open and close the side door quickly - that works.
I like my Blink doorbell because I am older and have mobility issues after an accident 2 years ago and find it invaluable. Being able to see who's at my door makes me feel a lot more secure, especially in this day and age.
The Google Nest cool off has improved. I received a notification as a neighbour entered the garden then just over a minute later a notification for my step dad coming into the garden. It also captured him sooner as the camera was already active. The Home app may not be as good as the Nest app but its not that bad as to score only 1 point. BTW Eufy are now using pop ups to promote its products which are intrusive enough to affect the user experience.
I have a Eufy doorbell and 8 Eufy cameras (hooked up to the eufy solar panels) + 2 homebases (to cover the distance). All thanks to your video’s, thank you! I am really happy with the current setup.
Cool. Thank you.
doorbell model please
Great video. I’ve been enjoying my Eufy battery doorbell for the last year and a half! Looks sleek and amazing video quality. The app could use a few improvements but otherwise no complaints
Thanks for watching!
soooo much test and details you cover every aspect/ topic possible!! you deserve at least 1M subs!!! once again thank you so much for all the effort you put in.
salute from Italy
Awesome video. There are so many security doorbell options out there it’s overwhelming. This was really helpful to compare every aspect. Thank you 🙏🏽
yes, definitely overwhelming.
And yes, this video definitely helps. I've had to pause and replay several times!!
I have been struggling for weeks, researching articles comparing doorbells. This video is exactly what I need! Thanks so much!
You are more than welcome.
Wich one did u buy
@@alyssacruz2109 Eufy. It's great and easy to install. We ended up buying an additional 3 eufy doorbells.
@@paamyHi, can you give us an update on how is it so far?
@john4iraq fantastic! I ordered the wired doorbell and the rechargeable one. Then i ordered 3 other cameras (one indoor security pointing outside, one wired outdoor security and one wireless outdoor security). I've also gotten my parents the wired doorbell camera, an indoor camera and an outdoor camera. They work great, so long as they are within the wifi range. One of the outdoor cameras is pushing that limit but if it stops working, I just disconnect the camera and reconnect and it works again. I do have my devices set to go off more frequently and we get quite a bit of activity with kids running around but I only have to recharge the ones that are not wired every few months. Sometimes, when there's a lot of activity, I snooze the alerts or turn the camera off completely. The tenants are also allowed access to the doorbell without having full control. I just have that camera alert turned off from my own phone so my phone isn't alerted every time they have someone ring their doorbell. I also have access to my parents camera system for when they're not home.
We had a lady trespass onto our property a couple months ago and I was alerted at 3am. We were able to save the footage for the police report. It was actually the doorbell light that came on and distracted her, then the security light came on, followed by our flood light that scared her away
The only cons I think is typical with many security cameras, my doorbell camera is more sensitive when the sun is at a certain angle so I get notifications of wheels and trees and various shadows, claiming to be "people". And sometimes, it doesn't alert me when the mailman is delivering cause of glare of the sun.
Personally, Ive recommended Eufy cameras to my friends and family. One of those persons I recommended to had a fancy set up previously. They had to pay for subscription and to increase their internet for that system. I'd recommend a Eufy that offers continuous recording. (Most wired set ups or for the doorbell, I believe it has to be the 4k one). Once the memory card fills up, it just automatically writes over from the oldest footage.
Great video. No gimmicks and straight to the point. Very well done. Just the information I was looking for. Glad to have found you in UA-cam Land. New subby right here. :0)
AMAZING review! Thank you so much for all the effort you put into your video, it very appreciated
as last time, this is again the most wanted video for me! we just bought a new place and plan to move in soon. such a life saver!!!
Thank you.
I like how thoroughly you test your products. We have some ring products but I am disappointed as to how slow they load initially.
Honestly, notification and live view time is the most important.... eufy takes a whopping 6 seconds to get the notification (notification only setting) and a whopping 5-6 seconds to get to the live view! Google nest and ring are the true winners here
I have Blink and it takes much longer. I tend to get the notification AFTER the Amazon delivery guy has left! Plus the chime only works with one push of the bell. No chime with subsequent pressing of the bell
great round up and I like the points system good balance approach
Hi LifeHackster, do you know when ReoLink’s doorbell camera is being released? Last time I heard it was supposed to be July but don’t see it out yet. Thanks! Love your videos
Always the best reviews! Thanks!
Just wanted to say ....That was a great video on all of the battery doorbells... I have both the Google Nest and the Ring models and they are pretty close in comparison for me the only issue I have is with Google Nest sometimes loosing wifi connection then I have I have to dismount it and reset then it will be OK but then after a few months it may do it again .... The last time I had to do this was on Oct.3 and before that it was Sept. 30 .... So you get what I am saying ... So as of today,Nov.28 it is still connected and running strong .... The other feature I like it that you can turn it off to save battery because this doorbell is not on the main door and I have the ring on the front, main door and and the ring you can't as far as I know just turn off "ARM" .... Battery life is really good for me so thanks again for this video .... Have a great day ....
I love your reviews. Thank you! I had a question. Are there ANY video doorbells that fit inside of an anti-theft doorbell mount on the door that can record continuously? I have several in-home camera systems inside that look outside (blink xt2, wyze v3, dropcam/nest/and yi home). If i understood the reviews of the wired and battery doorbells, none of them record continuously. Thanks in advance for your advice, LIFEHACKSTER!
I just snagged the dual cam on prime day for like 150... especially with this review feel like made right choice
I really wish this video was available BEFORE I drilled holes into the side of my house! Great video, thank you!
You are welcome.
Pretty fair comparison test. I have a Wyze Pro & I’m happy with it. It does what I need at a good price.
y not nest?
I have the Nest smoke detectors, & I don’t like their ap. I have several other Wyze devices & I like theirs.
Amazing informative video. Thank you !! New subscriber 🙌🏼
Thank you.
I have both the ring pro 2 and eufy 2k. Ring has mastered detection, and eufy has the best video. So it's hard to decide honestly which one to go with, since eufy detection sucks if it's pointed towards the street, have trees, and have a long straight sidewalk. But AV is great.
The new home base solves all this now, it's great!
@@buttons__6046 Not packaged with doorbells yet and they're selling homebase 3 by itself for $350 AUD... ouch.
Eufy motion detection is abysmal. Totally let me down when i needed it. It gets lucky in all the reviews, in everyday conditions it WILL let you down.
I'm moving soon and this would be great I was in search of youtube video trying to find a good camera and this is perfect for my new home thanks great video
I see Reolink has a video doorbell coming soon. Would love to see a review of it and how it stacks up against these.
this video is great. Do you have a video similar to this with smart locks? or can you recommend one? thanks
I was about to pick Eufy because of the video, as dual camera and no subscription seemed like obvious winners, but upon more research I found out several issues with it.
For one it offers no actual safety net for the doorbell being stolen. I know Nest offers to replace at least if the unit gets stolen. Some people even said it erases all the footage after being taken, but can't confirm this. If it is true though, if a thief wants, all they have to do is take the doorbell off and walk away. You lose your doorbell and the footage of the thief.
It also seems painfully slow with response on the app and has bad delay with voice based on The Hook Up channel's video.
I am not trying to shit on Eufy, these are all the things I found out from looking info on it. If someone has better or different experiences please let me know.
Which did you end up choosing
@@hey-zel I ended up going for the Eufy one because it has a homebase that doesn't require a subscription service. I thought if I ever want to commit to a monthly fee, I can do it later. For now, more or less satisfied with the Eufy double camera one.
Motion detection on Eufy units are woeful. Way too unreliable. Not worth the risk.
@@AC_Milan1899 which would you recommend?
@@AC_Milan1899I haven’t had any motion issues, you can also mess around in the settings to make it really sensitive with motion sensors.
Great review. Thank you so much
Looking forward to you doing a review on Reolink's video doorbell = that would be interesting.
Interesting video, kudos for your effort in compiling this.
I could have guessed without watching that you would give Eufy the win - it's the same on all your videos. Eufy has a good product but I really hope you address the well documented security flaw with some of their products in your future videos. I would have given Nest and Ring extra points for their free camera theft replacement program. Anyway I enjoy your content and I hope to see more balanced feedback on all products & not just positives for Eufy.
I agree, why I ditched Eufy plus glitchy software and crap latency/lag. Junk
Not on all my videos…some people say I’m a Ring Fanatic and I bet I’ll get the same comment if Ring won…
@@LifeHackster oh I wasn't aware of the ring comments, I'm a newer follower on your channel.
FYI - The Nest doorbell plus nest hub which acts as a chime, smart speaker, display etc is currently cheaper ($239) than the Eufy at $259 so that negates the whole lack of a chime ding against Nest. I would take the smart display over a chime only.
Anyway, once again - great content. I've now subscribed to your channel and hope to see more balanced feedback across the board .
@@safarisafari9328 Remember Nest has an imposed notification cool off. It will give you one notification and the motion needs to stop or out of cameras detection for 5 minutes before giving you another notification. Also remember it will only give you rolling 3 hours free cloud recording and if you subscribe, then even if Eufy is expensive in the get go, you will save in the long run because you don’t have to pay a monthly subscription.
LH is keeping it real and butt hurt fan boys triggered because he's speaking facts! I have google full ecosystem and swapped my outdoor products with eufy to try it out. I recognized the quality and benefits immediately, eufy makes awesome products, and it's just better! I feel nest was more innovative and listened to what customers wanted while google is playing the wait and see game! Google have great cameras, they just aren't the best. I stopped buying ring cameras because they deteriorated over a short period of time, and the quality fell completely off!
thank you so much. Awesome reviews!!!!! God Bless
Thanks for watching!
Great video bro, really liked the professional presentation thank you. There are concerns with Eufy's security - can you do a video on this please? Cheers
Great video! BTW - what brand of shirt are you wearing?? IT looks great!
Great review but I’m looking forward to your review of the Reolink doorbell cam when it comes out.
I'm excited to check that out when it comes in.
I am also waiting too!!! Waiting to get a doorbell cam hopefully reolink better performs
Thank you for making this because it is really helpful. Can you please do the same with wired doorbells?
I'll plan on doing it. Thanks.
Great LifeHackster, I love your comparison so you make our buying decision easier. Did you already get the new Reolink doorbell (as wifi or POE version) as preview tester? It will be officially available around 08.2022 in stores. And that Reolink doorbell will be compatible with the Reolink NVR so I am excited if you could make a preview for that doorbell….
Nope. I don't have it yet. But, I'm excited to test it when it comes in.
Thanks for the review man.
Take care of yourself.
Crazy to think cameras were never needed years ago… people left doors open and no issues
Now you can’t even get a delivery without it being stolen! 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Useful information, thanks 🙏🏻
Another downside to battery doorbells besides having to unmount them for charging for a few hours, is how the cold affects lithium batteries. I find temperatures nearing to zero degrees Celsius not only drains them quicker but affects their performance & video quality. Of the two i have used between the Eufy Dual & the Google Nest battery doorbell. I found the Nest battery to drain the quickest, where artefacts start to appear in the video footage & the aperture response struggles to adjust between contrasting light & dark areas. During very cold spells i expect these battery doorbells will struggle to work at all.
good info, thanks for sharing 👍
This was a PERFECT REVIEW!!!!
Thanks for the video, Kuya. This helped me a lot. Subd🤙🏼
has the Eufy duel issues been fixed since your last video on it? I just watched your review on it and there were a few issues that seemed to be going on with it, just wondering if those were updated or fixed. Thanks!
Very good video. It will give me a overview of the best video doorbell.
Now if I have to choose I still can't decide which one I must choose.
Inside my house I have 3 Google Hubs also my lights and some other stuff I use Google.
So you can say easy pick.
But I prefer the video doorbell Eufy.
Which one too choose now??🤔
Great job! I'm going to buy a Eufy.
thank you for this great video!
I subscribed and video was helpful just a little too many items at one time and quick. But I understand your time is limited. But my question is if I get 2 of the same devices will I be able to view both the camera footages on the app?
this is really helpful!!!
Another great comparison/competition video! It doesn't surprise me that Eufy won. They have yet to let me down. I'm biased toward Eufy -- obviously -- but I think if you do a home alarm comparison, Eufy probably won't win, but for the most part I'm still happy with them.
Apparently Eufy doesn't chime through Google Nest speakers either, only through Amazon Echo.
The Google nest has such a cool look. Really the design winner. Might Just get a nest and get eufy/reolink cameras next to that
is the fault with the delay time to view the live feed now fixed as of 2022 now? I really wanna buy this but im turned off by hearing when you wanna see who is at your door it sometimes doesnt open the live feed or takes a long time.. has ring fixed this issue with an update to the firmware?? Thank you, Your reviews are excellent
One thing to consider in the future is wifi signal types. The latest AX will give you a stronger signal if further away from the router. I doubt many of the new cameras out there support it though. AX is so strong I can have the router on the far side of the house, and it'll go thru 10 walls easily to the other side.
What is AX? I have older home with thick walls and consequently periodic router issues.
@@lovesfrance2928 the newest released wifi version. Wifi version 6
@@thehuguenot5615 you refer to the Eufy, correct?
Ax wifi is irrelevant if the door bell itself doesn’t support it, and none of these do
@@thehuguenot5615 wifi 6 is here and still garage. Cant go longer than 15 meters wthout it breaking Signal
Very helpful thank you
Is there any doorbell boa for the Eufy dual cam or one that I can fix up to work with it?
Great comparison.
Good evening, a little advice, which is the Doorbell among those who tried that once the button from someone at the door once the notification comes to the door and open the streaming on the smartphone more quickly? Thank you
Great video with awesome info. One small request, try not to repeat info/physical actions during test. Try different approaches to the doorbell or tech products.
Great work. Next I need to research and compare their terms of service. The idea of warrantless sharing of videos/marketing sharing of videos is concerning to me. Points for personal control thru terms of service.
Excellent video for anyone shopping for a video doorbell
Thank you.
after all these extra points, it gave 2 points of the ability to see the people in a screen when they ring the doorbell live at 11:10 as a "minor feature".
That feature alone is what makes a smart doorbell smart. That feature is the only which allows me to run downstairs when the doorbell rings and see who's at the door before i actually open the door. In my opinion that;s more important than most other features discussed.
Not a lot of people are wanting Amazon or Google listening and camera devices inside their homes, that is just an option. Your phone will alert you (which 99% of the time is with you) and can easily answer the notification and see the previewed snapshots...just as fast as going to a place in your house where you have setup your google hub or echo shows just to see who is at the front door... this is why it is a "minor feature"
@@LifeHackster I get what you are saying, but if you already have a phone with you most of the time, its pretty much the same thing.
wish you would include Simply Safe devices (subscription required) and include anti-theft options for the doorbells
Thank you.
Great video mate, as always! 👍
I've had one WUUK smart doorbell for a couple of yrs now, it hasn't failed at all.
Hope you give it a review! Thanks~
Hey Lifehackster I need a camere for a room with no wifi. I need it for security reason because stuff got stolen from there and I could connect the camera with a hotspot from my phone when I'm there. I only need to be able to review the footage if somethings is missing and don't necessarily need notification on my phone if the camera caught something moving. Thank you in advance for your help and keep up the great work.
It would of been far more useful giving the weighting rates for each section than a running total. The total should of been at the end. This way viewers can see which features come on top they deem important
Will you be doing an updated version of this test. Add in the Aosu, Ezviz and Tapo please.
Blink does not require a monthly sub, and you can store locally. Literally just set mine up last week with the Sync Module.
Watch this and see how Blink crippled their cameras without subscription -> ua-cam.com/video/VMgtNniPW8o/v-deo.html
Honestly, this video deserves 2 thumbs up
Hello sir,how are you?
Can you help me telling which camera is perfect to read Alphabetic paper..font size will be 14-15 (normal book reading font)
Thanks🙃.
What is the best camera if you have a lot of street traffic and bushes with trees in a windy area the motion will be going off every few minutes, what has the best AI person and animal detection.
You should do reviews on dash cams
very useful thanks
You should do a new review, and include the Aqara Doorbell in comparison to the Eufy, Google Nest and Ring.
I want to buy a budget whole home security cam system (doorbell, one indoor, & one over-garage flood-light cam) and I by "budget" I'm including monthly subscription fees, in fact I'd rather have a higher initial buy-in if it saves enough on fees to make up the difference within a year. I'm aware of the Eufy local storage but am wondering if a competitor with an inexpensive sub fee is worth considering as the initial buy-in on Eufy is so high that if you add up all the buy-in plus all the sub fees (zero in their case) but if you added them up then divided by 12 months and did the same for say Wyze who has a low buy-in and low sub fees, how close would it be? If it's close, maybe I'd go for the Wyze. There's a video idea here, cuz I can't be the only one looking budget but looking at a very basic multi-cam package.
Did you have the ring door cam connected to the 5 GHz it gives you lousy picture when connected to the 2.4 GHz much better on 5 GHz quicker response and much better picture quality
Is it required to setup and connect the hub station for Eufy?
11:21 BEWARE: Eufy customer service is terrible. They sent me a different product I didn’t order and only when I called / emailed them did I hear they are going to send me the correct product..
I bought from Eufy because of this AMAZING AND THOROUGH REVIEW, but if I had known the customer service were careless towards the details of orders and require a lot of follow up, I definitely would’ve chosen a different product.
I wish nest would have updated their wired version, I bought it over the battery one as it gives me 24hr recording and can last in Canada’s climate
The Nest Hello.. it is a pretty good doorbell except for notification speed and the cool off.
Thanks L.H.
Have you noticed the recent ADs on the Eufy app? Like the new useless explore tab and the referral program, mega raffle in the settings menu etc. I find it to be extremely annoying, but I'd like your two cents on this situation.
I've noticed that and it is still tolerable for me at this time... I did however turned off the screenshot pop-up for feedback in the settings.
It's definitely not a big deal 🙄
I have Eufy doorbell and some cameras but also Arlo 4k ultra as it has the best detail of all cameras otherwise I would be all eufy
Useful!
Your home router is confused asking... "Why do we have 15 doorbells connected here?" :D
Awesome video.
I would love to see a “all in ecosystem” video, which platform would win if you totaled up points for the common cameras an average person might need:
1 x doorbell cam
1 x floodlight cam
1 x wireless outdoor cam
1 x indoor cam
I might in my future videos but I can tell you...Ring owns that at this time.
Can you do REOLINKS security doorbell plz?
Did you ever review any Imou products on your channel❓
Do you have a wired video doorbell video comparing all of these brands?
I have budget 150 doller to buy a 4k clear video quality battery powered...which one you suggest, please tell😪?
Can Eufy interact with the Google Hub, ie when it's rung, can it automatically send the video to the Google Hubs, and can it also use the Google speakers as a ringer?
It can but you need to verbally say it to open live view. Not auto live view.
@@LifeHackster thank you! How about the Google Minis? Can Eufy use them as chimes?
The main issue I have with Eufy ( I am a current user of their cameras and doorbells) is that I can not continuously record, (when plugged in like Wyze) so if something happens I can not check the video stream before the event
the other issue I have is the Eufy Motion Detection keeps missing things making it useless when I had a break-in a month ago failing to record the entry (it only recorded them leaving the house)
Do you have cameras monitoring each others blind spots?
I want to know how to choose a wireless doorbell camera with 2 chimes pro?
If using the battery doorbell as a security camera is my top priority, which would you recommended?
Ring or Eufy.
The best one is the Amcrest AD410. If you don't have one, I recommend it. Better than any of the ones I've used.
I have to check this out. Thanks..oh this is wired..well it has to compete with the Ring Pro 2 and the Eufy Dual wired..I still have to make a video on the wired versions.

@@macster1457 I think you misunderstood... some ppl need wifi Cams... like me.
I understand the appeal of Eufy storing clips locally and not having a monthly charge for cloud storage, but I think there are 2 huge potential flaws with that. First, if a burglar breaks into your house, couldn't they just steal your doorbell and homebase, leaving you with no way to retrieve any of the footage? They are both small, light items, which a burglar could easily throw into a backpack. You would be left with no footage to identify the burglar to the police (The whole reason to purchase these items in the first place). Second, there is a reddit post and youtube video addressing the fact that if someone steals your Eufy doorbell and holds the sync button, syncing the doorbell with another homebase, you lose all ability to access your locally stored clips on your own homebase. Apparently, several customers have been attempting to contact Eufy regarding this concern, and have yet to hear back. I think I would feel safer paying the few dollars a month for cloud storage, in order to guarantee that I could always access the clips and provide footage to the police in the event of a burglary.
I have this as the only wireless the rest are all Eufy wired and their flood light.
@@tottenhamteacher But where is your footage stored? If it's stored locally on a homebase, couldn't a burglar just steal your homebase? That would leave you with no way to access the footage and identify the person.
@@joeski0883 for sure but it’s just ONE camera. The easiest of access too. Like u said that’s why I went C24 and flood light for the rest and two other C24 compensate for the potential Homebase burglary.
I understand your concern and it makes sense, but for general security, you should have more in place than just a video doorbell and a homebase. My homebase is part of my home alarm and it's mounted and not easy to just grab and go but my video doorbell is linked to Eufy's WiFi Bridge which is not located close to the door. I also subscribe to Eufy's home monitoring service and they are very fast to respond (almost instantly I receive a text, even if one of us forgets to disarm the alarm before leaving or entering).
My home-base is located out of sight. Too hidden to even locate even if I told you where it's at.
Lifehackster, you should add an update about this video regarding the Eufy security breach/concerns. I got rid of mine because of it.
Do a best wired doorbell too please
I will in my future videos.
Does eufy have live access at any time?
thanks
You should review the 360 video doorbell
I think you need to come up with a torture test for battery life. Maybe a box with a light inside and an automated system for camera trigger for every 5 mins or less
True...we will see.
