Lyrics
No doubt, doubt
No longer need to hide it
I've found out who I am
I'm moved around in circles
I rise and fall again
I know it well
Every word I tell
Seems to make no sense at all
Words
Will heal it
Love
Will conquer the
Hearts of the hopeless the almighty is still alive
Risin' up from the heart of the desert
Risin' up from Jerusalem
Risin' up from the heat of the desert
Building up old Jerusalem
Risin' up from the heart of the desert
Risin' up from Jerusalem
Risin' up from the heat of the desert
Heading out for Jerusalem
I've gone beyond but there's no life
And there is nothing how it seems
I've gone beyond but there's no life
There is no healing rain in Eden
The empty barren wasted paradise
Let's celebrate the dawning of the Sun
I turn to you oh my precious Jerusalem
Deny your prophets their passion and treat them like fools
I turn to you oh my poor old Jerusalem
Deny my love but you can't change fate
Son of man
(You truly are mine)
Can't stand the pain
No more grief and misery
It goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on
Father stop it now
We must stop it now
You really think you are half way up
I would not mind if you were right
(It's not sure)
I'd rather say you are half way down
So I am going to help you if I can
I've been caught in wilderness in wilderness
I've get out well
I found myself in desert lands in desert lands
But you've been on my mind
I turn to you oh my precious Jerusalem
Deny your prophets their passion and treat them like fools
I turn to you oh my poor old Jerusalem
Deny my love but you can't change truth
Rise up and follow me cause I will bring the light
Rise up and follow me wake up and clear your mind
I try to bring it back the seed of life
I try to bring it back the seal of light
So if you say there's no faith in man
You better keep in mind
That I can read between the lines
My heavy burden brings eyesight to the blind
I've been caught in wilderness in wilderness
I've get out well
I found myself in desert lands in desert lands
But you've been on my mind
I turn to you oh my precious Jerusalem
Deny your prophets their passion and treat them like fools
I turn to you oh my poor old Jerusalem
Deny my love but you can't change me
I don't own anything.
For me as a Muslim and I'm a big fan of Blind Guardian which is rare to be listened in my society cuz they doesn't like metal bands generally, but Blind Guardian for me when they play and touch the chords of their guitars they almost touch the chords of essence of life, a lot of thanks for your effort.
I am 100 percent convinced Jesus rocks out to this song in heaven
Who is Jesus?The singer?
I meant Jesus, as in from the bible Jesus
Whats the bible? Many people on the internet are talking about that thing. What is it?
Do you genuinely not know? I'd be happy to tell you about it
About what? What are you people talking about? This Jesus guy and that thing called bible sounds weird. Are they from some movie?
Blind Guardian are all about using stories to make their music. Whether you are a religious believer or not, this story is one that is worthy of song and that's what Blind Guardian will always be about for me. Stories worthy of song
THIS.
They’re storytellers and they do it great. Retelling the story of Jesus like this is neat to me as a Christian
They set the bar with their lyric stories with fantasy and religious topics
The only song that make me want to find God.
God of Israel, the true one and only almighty
As a Catholic, I highly approve this song. Epic lyric about the almighty.
I absolutely LOVE this song. So many different sounds, bringing you up and down. Just amazing. I am pretty sure this song is about when Jesus went to the desert and fasted for 40 days and 40 nights, to find out if he was truly the Son of God or not, and he was tempted all along the way by evil spirits trying to give him power, food, water etc., but he didn't give in and knew that he was truly the Son of God. He had a vision of Jerusalem looking glorious.
I asked my wife about the song, I personally have never read the bible, but she has extensively, and she's positive that is what the song is about. Some passage in Mathew 4 i think...
I consider myself an atheist but I'm not ashamed to love this song.
Im pretty sure a few Blind guardian members are atheist too.
Infact i remember reading an interview where Hansi (Vocalist and songwriter) Said he was agnostic or something along those lines.
Agnostic and same
No reason to feel ashamed for loving awesome music
Nobody’s perfect ;)
Best christian song ever!
Though not sure of the Story line, there is a lot of passion felt in this song. It is a reminder that Jerusalem, the people of history, were notorious for turning their backs on their home, and the prophets of that home. But the call to return is always there. Jerusalem, home to the Hebrews. disbanded, and recalled a dozen times in history. Beautiful song. studying the drums to it now. gonna take a lot of time getting it down.
It’s about when Christ weeps over Jerusalem in the New Testament gospels
An interpretation of Jesus' mind towards Jerusalem, I'd say.
...true..❤
good to listen during Lent =)
As of 13 minutes ago, it's Easter Sunday here on the East coast, 2021. Was just thinking a similar thought.
Qué canción tan asombrosamente épica y profunda
awesome music and nice lyric video
Ege Baysal You're welcome! I'm happy you like it!

Jesus Christ Superstar at 0:42
From what composition?
@@MichaelDoumin it's a tribute, the original tune appears a couple of times in JCS, but probably the best iteration is in the scene of the lepers.
@@MichaelDoumin btw the temple scene is even more similar to BG rendition

Sure, now found it too.
So... this belongs to the Spyro the Dragon soundtrack right?
The entire ANATO album would work as a Spyro The Dragon soundtrack
My grandmother thinks this song is a jab at Jews simply because the band that wrote it are from Germany smh
The Zeldaniac That’s sad.
Moon Mover Thinking like a 70 year old comes naturally to her I guess
Well, she isn't wrong, altough this has nothing to do with NZs, not all criticism against jews is hate, you know? Thing is: jews don't belive that Jesus is the messiah, BUT here we are, 2020 years later... talking about Him, about a religion that literally shaped the world, and spread to all corners of it.
If Jesus don't fit the bill for the messiah that some jews at the time fail in reconize, then they will reach the end of times in denial...

im not atheist because is too mainstream being atheist
man if the catholic church played this at events instead of those gay choir songs sung by abused little boys then maybe there'd be more catholics in the world
Yes! Jerusalem belongs to us Western European Catholics! Not the Jews! Not the Muslims! And not the Eastern Orthodox Christians!!! (stares motafuckaly) XD
Deus vult.
That's the first thing i thought of replying after reading that comment.
Indeed, Deus Vult
What the fuck is wrong with you
DEUS VULT, HEATHEN!
It doesn't belong to Western European Catholics, it belongs to all Catholics of the world
how the f*** it doesn't get banned???
Why should it?
It shouldn't be banned, this song is a glorious song about Christ
Because the algorithim isn't good enought to analize such masterpiece...
Why should it?
Even better why were you listening to it?
I lasted 3 minutes. This genre just does not work with my ears.
polemeros your ears just does not work with my genre
That's ok, glad you tried to listen to yourself to make your own opinion, instead of just following someone else's :)
