First song I heard by Blind Guardian as a kid. Was completely blown away
This song is the most brutal Blind Guardian song despite perfect clean melodic vocal lines, if anything they set up just for a harder hit when chorus arrives. This kind of song is one of a kind, such unorthodox choice of vocal lines.

These lyrics are brutal and demonic. The story is about the dark side in all of us. This gutar solo before ending is a kind of tensioned culmination before the doom that is rising, and after which there's no turning back.
Sometimes, when I listen BG's music, I feel like I watch at a painting from that story, and watch the details while listen these masterpieces. Every detail has it's own story. Amazin.

This is the perfect villain song honestly.
Acually, I have been planning (coming up with random crap in my head that would be neat to do someday but am probably not talented enough to ever get done) a sort of comic or something that is dark fantasy inspired, most taking inspiration from stuff like darksouls, berserk, a bit of mortal kombat for violence, lord of the rings and heavy metal songs. One of the main characters is this guy with black armor, (inspired by guts armor) with a 2 handed sword he can wield with one hand. He mostly punches things though cause why not? I was thinking of any reason for him to be the way he is and eventually this song became a sort of inspiration for a lot of his story as a character. He is born into a poor and abusive home, eventually his home is raided by bandits and one of his only clear memories from his childhood is a series of events where he watches his father being killed and his mother raped as he runs off to try and escape. He eventually gets away to the woods and falls and is overall pretty badly beaten up and gets different sorts of illnesses and stuff from this and just things like had at home before all this. Eventually he finds a small village and the people take him in, for the first time in his life he has someone who treats him like family, but after a while his friend he makes there dies of an illness, and so do multiple others. His mere existence in this village brought a disease that was foreign to them so the very people who tried helping him now try to kill him and he runs again, everywhere he goes is just death. Some days later while he is trying to find any sort of civilization presumably the same people who raided his home find him and almost kill him, in his last moments he starts to beg that if there is a god out there that he help him, when I giant rock falls and crushes all of them. One guy survives and the kid beats him to death before trying to carry on. As he grows he becomes this absolute killing machine, pulling of what are essentially mk fatalities on guys. Eventually he comes across this sword that holds a demon in it, he does not know this but he does know he has a free sword. Eventually he dies by being impaled on his sword by an elder God demon thing and is eventually ressurected as a sort of angelic like being who carries out God's wrath on the evil of the world, which it being the world it is means a whole lot of it. By the end of the series he is the last living thing after a day of judgement In which all the other main characters are dead, every demon is dead, the god is dead, and with its death the universe collapses on itself and leaves this guy with the power of a God. His first attempts at creating anything are futile as he ends up displeased with any creation and destroys it when he realizes that he was never fit to create or care for anything as his world must have been one that the unknown god didnt care for which is what led it to such a horrible fate. He then decides it would be best if nothing ever existed again, as there would be no point if in time it would only be destroyed by his hands again. And so with his own power he wipes himself from existence, leaving nothing but a blank nothingness that goes on forever.
So sort of a villain in the end I guess? The only other characters I have came up with so far are a mushroom hippie guy and a smaller mushroom dude with brain damage both born from rot, and they would be part of the main cast of characters. Seeing as I've giving this one guy the most thought I should probably have the story revolve around him if I ever get anywhere with this, but I still haven't even come up with a name for the guy.
Update, that original thing was edgy as all crap. I do have something now with the same 2 mushroom guys, but it's just a species living underground and the main character is way different now. The comic is being called freakshow, and this song inspired that name. The 3 main guys start off in a freakshow for various reasons, an the guy who owns it is named brighteyes, because he has bright eyes (why else would you be called that). So now it's a comedic dark fantasy parody, with elements from the Witcher and Berserk, but without magic. Mushroom guys hcan use nature to do stuff though, like growing plants or making walls and spikes.
Till this day My favourite Blind Guardian song. :)

ihmehiitaja This song is related to "And The Story Ends". Both songs came on the same album "Imaginations from the other side" which portrays two different world's : the world of science which is similar to ours and the world of fantasy which is inspired by the Arthurian legend.Those two where connected by several hidden passages.
Anyways, background aside , the lyrics describe a young isolated child who has some special talents ,even tough it was very young (think Hansi said in an interview he was 10 years old). As the lyrics unfold he seems to lose his sanity.
While this is happening , in the "world of fantasy" there is a war going on and the good side seems to be loosing, so they open those passages in hope they'll find the chosen one and eradicated the evil. The boy seems to know about this beforehand ("There's something else waiting/A promised destiny"), since he is the chosen,but when the mirror opens he is faced with a dilemma, to leave this world or not. The album ends without telling us for certain what he chose to do.
Spoiler if you have listened the new album : The boy decided not to enter the portal (a choice he now regrets) and now, after twenty years both worlds take a turn for the worst, all the passages have been closed beside one, The Red Mirror, which the boy needs to find so that he can save both worlds.

It is "yin" and "yang".
Yes it is, most people don't seem to understand that there is more than one way to pronounce "Yang". Most people from the West (America, Europe) seems to pronounce it how it looks, where as, from my experience atleast, most people from the East (Tibet, japan, etc) I find pronounces it to almost sound like they are saying "Young" like Hansi does in this song.

I enjoyed most of the remasters, but the remastered bright eyes doesnt even come anywhere near the brilliance of the original. Hansi constantly slipping halfway into growls just sounds so powerful if you listen to it on high enough volume lol.
