Congratulations on the new saw to increase your top end capacity. Had to smile when you commented on needing to tighten the chain and take the rakers down after cutting on the stump. I take the rakers down a wee bit on new RS chain and my 500i just pulls great and eats anything I feed it. Happy cutting Chris. After your shoulders get adjusted to the new added saw weight, you won’t want to run anything else🪵👍
I purchased a Stihl 462 in June 2021 with the heated handle. It is the largest Stihl saw (72cc) with the heated handle option. I had warm hands a few days ago when cutting while the temperature was -25 Celsius. I am very impressed with the 592 XP. It is a beast and doesn't bog down. You'll enjoy it but you are wise to use it first while you have the energy. Great video again, Chris. GNI!

just ordered this saw through my local Granger, great price right now from Husqvarna, roughly $300 off. I did add the 28" light bar for milling but What a price and What a saw!!
I just got one this past week and broke it in on some red oak and it was just great. Cuts as fast as you push it! My wallet is a little lighter now, but I'm having a good time. Nice new saw ...and it does so cut...I have been cutting big birch lately .That 592 would go thru it pretty nicely..got snow yesterday so not sure when I will get back to the birch...some of the birch is 20 inches so it is pretty nice stuff..I rotate my 372 with a 28 inch bar and my 572 with a 24 inch bar...had to get one of the buffer springs replaced on my 572 ..first time I had to take it to the shop since I’ve had it..that 592 screams ...I thought the 572 did...how smooth is it ? 572 is the smoothest I ever ran..cheers
Hey congrats Chris! The fruits of your labors. :)) Just FYI - Several STIHL saws have heated handle bars. If you have a story to tell, I would be interested in why you have so many saws. I am looking at a second saw (plus my little trimming saw), so I have my regular saw currently and want a bigger one on hand for those times I get into the big diameter stuff but perhaps there is a good back story as to why you have so many (?). Love to hear it sometime. Have a great week out there and enjoy the new saw!
Hello Gord! I have a bunch of saws, not enough, more is better! I have them so that when I cut all day they get a break to cool down on hot days and so that I can keep cutting if I get pinched, throw a chain, hit a rock or nail or have other problems. Also I like to cut with a chain as sharp as possible so if a saw gets dull I can grab another and keep cutting and then sharpen at the end of the day and sharpen all the saws at once. If you are a Stihl guy, look at a 500i or the 462c-m, both great saws!!! I have covered the multiple saw kit a few times on the channel before, you need to watch all my old videos!!! HA!!! Thanks!
@@InTheWoodyard, have used Stihl and Husky saws over the years. Preferred Stihl but either are great. I went with: MS-201Tc, MS-261C, MS-500i, and a MS-881 (though I only use when absolutely necessary or on my Alaska mil). My 261 with 20” bar and 500i with a 28” bar are my go to saws. If the next version of the 661 (whatever they dub it name wise) goes on a weight diet I might be interested.
I’ve got a husky 550XP Mark 2 but I think I need more power. I’m looking to increase my bucking speed, by maybe 2x. What would you recommend I pick up to do so?
I like the bigger saws. Stick a 32 or 36 inch light weight bar on it and you can stand up straight , bucking logs. My 661 is pretty much the only saw I use even though I have a couple of smaller ones but have hardly picked them up in the last 3 years.
Are you an west coast guy or a down south guy? A 24" bar will cut any tree down here and I have faster chain speed, more power, less teeth to sharpen, less likely to hit the ground, easier to maneuver in the brush and easier to limb with. But I do not claim to know everything just what works best for me. Thanks for watching!
@@InTheWoodyard I am in east Tennessee. have oaks on my property that the 36 inch bar won't cut in one go but not many of those. the reason that I use that saw and bar combination is , its easier on my back as I can stand up straight when bucking. I got so used to that bar, that I know where the tip is at any given time. I tried a 25 " one and kept getting it into places where it should not be. The thing is that with a tank worth of gas I get a lot more done using the suped up 661 than any of my other saws. I rather run that thing for an hour than a small saw for 2 hours for the same amount of wood If that makes sense. Yes itbtakes a little longer to sharpen, But over all it still saves time . I sharpen my chains with a CBN disk on an oregon grinder at home and just take spare chains with me when I am dropping trees or bucking. I have a ammo box bolted to the tractor that has 5 chains in it and the wrench to change them out. The saw is in a scabbard next to it . Down the road you will probably pick up that bigger saw more and more as well ....... I did By the by, a 36" light bar balances the same as a 25" standard one .... At least comparing the 36 Tsumura to a 25 Stihl as that is what I have
Nice saw! How do you go about finding these properties that you cut free wood on? And does the property owner not ask that you clean up the brush? Around me, people basically want free tree work to take the wood.
gonna have to buy it! don’t need it, but i picked up that 572 last year because you had it, i have a few 372’s but find myself holding the 572 quite a bit, so mine as well get this 592 and see how it compares to the 395… why not right?
Good video Chris. And yes if no more 372xpg, they do make a 572xpg, I own one. And I also own a stihl 462c arctic package which is same. Your 592xp looks awesome and someday I'll get one for sure. And yes as Tony said the 661c and 592xp are neck in neck for power but on paper 592xp shows bit more hp. Cheers.
Congratulations Chris that thing screams... I'm delivering my last load out this trip then heading to Ag-Pro to pick up my new 500i.. Bucking awaits....
Hey Chris the cold finally hit us in nebraska but only for about 4 days.. minimal snow.. id say this is the least amount of snow we have gotten here its been crazy warm with just a couple cold blistery days like now. Love the radiated heat off my wood stove tho! Wish i could just buy ur supply and relax but its time to cut again lmao..

When will the bashing of Stihl stop. Yes Stihl used to make heated handles. I bought a 460 magnum in 2000 and I love it. You notice that if you run a good saw you don't have to replace it as often. Back when I was buying saws there wasn't a husky dealer around my area. Everybody likes a new toy. Glad you like it.
I've noticed with my husky's, I have to stop and clean the bar because after long use the oiling holes get gummed up and the bar and chain are dryer than a popcorn fart! My Stihl and Echo doesn't do this, and all of them I make sure to have plenty of bar oil
Well I'm glad to see you finally got the elusive 592 XP. I thought it was a unicorn a mythical creature. I'm happy you show cased it with Tony! Excellent video! I love your Husqvarna dealer! I don't have that here in Ohio. I have to go to the big box stores. I do have an excellent echo dealer.
Autotune field reset Helps them get acclimated quicker. I warm mine up for 3min then rip for 45 seconds... talk to Brodi at the chainsaw shack. He’s an echo guy. I have a 620p that fits between my 550xp and my 572xp. Really like it... You can get bigger husky dogs. I got a set when I put a full wrap handle on my 572. BTW, ITS ABOUT TIME!
The full rap OEM handle kit for the 572/562 Comes with the dual HD log spikes. . the 562 is the smallest current production Huskie with the option for full rap handle, hd spikes and large bar mount D009 pattern. . I'm kinda surprised about the store not knowing about heated handles, in a cold climate. Or having some at least on order. 0.01c
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 The 592 is a really nice saw. You will have to get yourself a load of larger logs from John so you can give it a real workout. It will be interesting to see how often you grab the 592 verses the 572 . Hope you have fun with it. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
I thought it was Christmas there' I'm sure some already said they have the artic saw with heated handles. I bought a ms461 in 2020 while Big R was going out of business. they had 15% off the 461' couldn't help myself. 1,040.00 was original price with 25 inch bar. I seen the spot for the switch for the warmers.. I started cutting for my home in 1983 bought a Homelite with a 18" bar, had to put it on layaway' wow that was a day ago. Then in 86 I bought my first 026 lasted me 12 years never a problem, bought another 026 then and an 038. a couple years later a used 044, then a new ms390. I traded a rifle for a ms194 and ms362, couldn't believe I never had a top handle saw, loved it so much I sold it and bout the ms201t' form a UA-cam video I ported the muffler and advanced the timing, I'll cut 14 inch stuff all the time. Well I guess what I'm getting at is I started with Stihl so I stayed with Stihl. Only one saw ever gave me a problem it was my 3rd ms261 now' a few years ago it quit like I shut it off' just knew it was the coil' ordered one and away I went. Just got another ms261 well because it was a good deal. I shall Stihl for a log time! I get up every morning and click on the news and In the Woodyard, Wife says you like that guy! I said he's the Guy //
Oh my goodness it's kind of scary you and Tony are like August Rush Louis and Evan playing in the park. What a beautiful song and Melody. My heart goes out to you. Well done. What a beautiful video.
Great vid Chris! Good to see Tony again!! was going to ask how he was doing! so far with my 572xp and the X-Cut chain on a 24" bar i took 6 pulls off the new chain, sharpened once and took 2 more pulls off the rakers! think i need at least 2 more to get close to how i like them! You need more than toothpicks to cut with that awesome saw!!bury that bar into some oak lunkers!!
@@thefirewooddoctor i agree! i took it kinda easy on the first tank then did a full throttle rip cut 20 ft long till the auto tune on my 572xp set itself up!! it's getting better on every tank! 5 tanks so far! the 572 xp is also a great saw!
@@billybobswood8153, my 572xp screams good in the wood now. Is breaking in. Took my Echo CS-590 to fully wake up after 10-15 tanks of fuel. No need to do a 20ft rip cut to set the auto-tune. Bucking a big round with some long steady cuts is enough to set it. Otherwise it takes several normal cuts for it to reset itself. Is more of an issue if going from one temperature extreme to another between uses as the auto-tune continuously resets itself during normal operation.
@@thefirewooddoctor i usually run mine for 3-4 minutes while i get my gear on and go easy on the first cut then let her rip!! auto tune takes a matter of secs now!

On the other hand, my Mac is quieter, didn't cost so much, AND I can use it all day! - That bad boy!, sounds like you need to cut the rakers down another inch, or two!! - Nice plunge, Tony! @@InTheWoodyard You said start small, so I did. Got a Husqvarna 460 Rancher and 24" bar with 5 year warranty getting 3 quarts fuel mix. This will go along with my 30 year old Husqvarna 61. Both 60cc class. I am not selling wood, but would like to get back into it, probably hobby bundles. I sold 32 full cords of firewood one year to a year and a half or so back in 1986, 1987 time frame. I worked swing shift back then. Once I went to day shift, firewood cutting stopped, except personal firewood and help friends.
@@InTheWoodyard Chris yes, this is a good saw within my budget! I wanted an XP type, but I can't justify the extra $4 to 500 at this time for personal use. A professional Husky would only save me a few minutes per year cutting, not worth it at this time anyway.
Chris, That 592 XP is a great addition to your saws! That is awesome about the warranty. Stihl does have heated Handles, they are artic saws you can only get overseas. I really liked when Tony said Thanks for letting me play with your toys. Great saw, Great warranty, Freat felling by you and Tony! Nice job he did on that heavy learner with that bore cut. Get the Howard Leight 33 NRR ear plugs. They are the best hearing protection out there and when squished and inserted expand to fill the entire ear canal. With those and the muffs you won't hear a thing. Also Stihl does have Artic Series saws that do have the heated bars
It's a big saw alright! It's fast, and heavy, and NOISOME!! I think that means aggravating noisy!! It's way too big for me to use on those little weeny logs!! I'll be impressed with it more when you're cuttin' 4-5' butts! - Good to see Tony again! If he grew wild hair, I couldn't tell the difference in him and Alfred Einstein!! Today's video, with the helmet, kinda reminded me of Johnny Wayne!! You know, kinda walkin' a little sideways carrying that saw!! That saw makes way yonder too much noise for me! It sounds to me like the tuner upper needs tuned down!! One of the porfessors in the Dept. of Noiseology, down at the Univ. of Science, said that excess noise is simply using extra energy, to make the noise! They've been using them in Norway or Sweden for awhile. There's a guy over there that painted a picture of one of the saw's test pilots called "The Scream"! It's become sorta famous too!! - Maybe they can get an optional tractor muffler for it!! Or a H-D muffler. That oughta quiet it down!! - Remem, 'hard of hearingness' is the invisible handicap! ...WHAT!!

Chris...Love your channel and I see you are using the Kinco Pigskins! I love mine (thanks to you) because they are warm and also dampen vibration. A couple tips an old time Homelite/Stihl dealer told me when I bought my fist pro saw..Stihl 036 Made in Germany. After running it under load for any length of time let it idle for about 30 seconds to let the metals come to equilibrium and cool down. Second was to never run the saw out of gas. As you get down near the bottom of the tank the saw will start running lean and over time will greatly shorten the life of the piston and cylinder. Not sure if autotune/M-tronic saws have this issue. Keep the channel interesting and fun! Guess your brother wasn't willing to part with his 395!
Great video. I've never used a saw larger than a 372 XP. ( I did try a Stihl 090 on one stump ). **If you could only have one saw** What do you think is the fastest cutting, most horsepower, saw you have used or that they sell.? ( between Stihl and Husky ).

SMOOTH AS BUTTA!! I like it a lot so far!
HA!!! Thanks!
LOL! ok, I'm busted...I better get watching. :)) Cheers and enjoy the new saw Chris!
Congratulations on new saw! That’s awesome!
Thanks!
I’ve got a husky 550XP Mark 2 but I think I need more power. I’m looking to increase my bucking speed, by maybe 2x. What would you recommend I pick up to do so?
The 572xp is a great saw, I have 2 and I just got a 592xp and it is light speed fast!
@@InTheWoodyard I went with the 572xp and it’s an amazing tool.
Very nice saw my friend. I saved this video for the weekend so I could pay full attention.
Thanks for watching, you will see more of it soon!
I did
By the by, a 36" light bar balances the same as a 25" standard one .... At least comparing the 36 Tsumura to a 25 Stihl as that is what I have
@@finniganshomestead2956 Thanks for the info Mr. F!
Nice saw ! Like to see it in bigger wood after you dial the chain in .
You and me both!
Stihl/Husqvarna, both the best chainsaws on the market . I have 3 Stihl saws but would use a Husky no probs . Nice pick up Chris !
Yes they both make great saws! Thanks Gus!
Sweet saw will be my next saw purchase. I should check with my equipment supplier.
Yup, the dealer might have one!
Nice saw!
How do you go about finding these properties that you cut free wood on? And does the property owner not ask that you clean up the brush?
Around me, people basically want free tree work to take the wood.
It is different case by case and I just ask and keep my eyes open and people also ask me too.
Wow Chris that sounds so powerful I would have a minimum 27” bar on it . Great buy great video
Thanks 👍, A 24" will cut anything I want here, it is rare to get a tree over 36" and 1/2 of 36 is 18" so a 20" bar will cut almost anything here.
I got a 24" bar and 32" bar for one of my saws and 99.9% of the time I'm running my 24". No need to be lugging around that big bar all the time.

Yes, Stihl makes the Arctic models with heated handles and carburetors (on non-Mtronic models).

And yes as Tony said the 661c and 592xp are neck in neck for power but on paper 592xp shows bit more hp. Cheers.

@@InTheWoodyard Oh yes, Daddy likes... 😂. I just spoke with my local dealer, can't wait!
It was a joke, Stihl makes great products! In the USA Stihl saws with heated handles are not available, I am told.
Did you get your feel bads hurt
I've noticed with my husky's, I have to stop and clean the bar because after long use the oiling holes get gummed up and the bar and chain are dryer than a popcorn fart! My Stihl and Echo doesn't do this, and all of them I make sure to have plenty of bar oil
You might need to turn up the oiler flow, I have never had that problem, well maybe once in the last 5 years.
Try a sharp chain..
Yes, it has been a long wait!
For being the largest Husky dealer in Wisconsin I found it funny that he really could not answer very many questions about the saws.
Little trees like you're doing I would just use my 590 timber wolf 20 inch bar
Yup, a smaller saw would be fine but I am using it here for the first time! And I just wanted to try it out!

I told the rep the same thing
You need more than toothpicks to cut with that awesome saw!!bury that bar into some oak lunkers!!
Best to break-in a new saw on smaller stuff for the first couple tanks of fuel in my opinion. Then bury the saw into the wood.
