We are listening and learning. It's the politicians we keep electing. Please, everyone on planet earth, elect politicians who want to save us, not enslave us.
The short story Harrison Bergeron lit my brain on fire in eighth grade. Not assigned, but in the textbook. Every time I reread it, I am reminded that 'equal' is different from 'the same.'
Kurt Vonnegut makes me question Which is a more important event in history? The Development of Penicillin or the realization that the cursed “Horse Mackerel“ is actually a highly profitable fish called Tuna. I can also picture Vonnegut’s description of fishermen pulling the Tunas from their nets and bashing them with ores and throwing them back in the water as a warning to others to stay out of their nets. 😂
I've never read any of Kurt V's stuff. I have concluded the same, many years, decades ago. Glad to know I'm not the only one. Oh, by the way, Anyone noticing Mother Nature winding up her readiness to give us the Full Show? It's gonna be the greatest show on earth. Have fun
Damn! Telling it like it REALLY is. Well, who better than the inventor of ice-9... Only PROBLEM, I don't think we will SURVIVE to 2088. At least not our societies, cultures and civilization.
...he says, as the biosphere rots and the hurricanes increase and the ocean dies. Do keep telling yourself that, though. I'm sure your grandkids won't curse your name at all.
@Serai3 ... as they have done since before we meat bags began walking on this rock? Much arrogance is required to believe you are making any detectable impact on a body that has been adjusting and evolving for so many millenia. But then, we believed the universe revolved around us for the longest time, didn't we?
@@nuveausapien Ah yes, now we get the coporate shill, pushing the propaganda that nothing humans do can possibly affect anything. Please go back to grade school science class and learn something, little boy.

What a fantastic letter 👏. Benedict brings everything to life and I can listen to him for hours.
Well said, and well read.
Kurt Vonnegut, always having the right of it. Benedict Cumberbatch, always reiterating the message perfectly.
1988, 36 years ago. When will they/ we ever learn or listen

Great job Benedict Cumberbatch
If you're watching this and haven't read any Vonnegut yet, may I suggest starting with "Cat's Cradle".
I started with "Slapstick" and became a lifelong fan.
Slaughterhouse five personally my favorite
Breakfast of champions

I wonder what Vonnegut would have made of Trump?
Hi ho.
And so it goes!
@come one, lahge fahts, let’s keep this going. 😎
Proof that even the most creative minds can fall prey to the long disproven fallacies of Malthus Mania.

Vonnegut was an arse
You should hear what he thought about you.
Oh wait.
