- I am completely speechless. This run is so good, so great that I don't know how much further I can go before I can stop any%. I changed the route a little bit by going to level 12 instead of 13 at dueling club, that is really the only major difference. Aside from the third Quidditch session, a bit better luck all around, and that's all I can really ask for. I hope you guys enjoy one of the greatest achievements I have to offer as a speedrunner.

This was my most favorite game as a child omg, so happy that I remembered it
Right? It improved so much from the First game
I remember playing this game like it was yesterday but it was 17 years ago :'(
André Bjerregaard Me too!! I’m thinking about buying a modded GBA and buying this game. This game was so much fun because the variety of spells and cards.
@@bc4c7 you can play on your phone for free

The music in this game is amazing. The composer's original pieces are great, and then the arranged versions of Jeremy Soule's music from the other versions of the game are fantastic.
This was an excellent game back in the day. I actually played this one AFTER the GBA version and was surprised how much better this was. A proper Harry Potter RPG as opposed to a linear game with levels. Legendary IMO.
Same
The GBA Chamber of Secrets cut out so much of the story.
GBA one was surprisingly not a bad game either.
@@harriettubman2717 the gba version is high on the list for fan favorites.
man I hated so much that spider, it took me a f*** week to pass
Pauer ranger rojo I remember when I first played this game that fight took me several days spread over a month or two because I would keep getting mad at it, absolutely refused to try and level up before it for some reason.
SuperMonkeypotato it's amazing to see how much videogames have advanced, I remember playing this and thinking that game was the bomb
Pauer ranger rojo It was. I still love it, part of the reason for these speedruns. I just enjoy that others enjoy watching these.
that's spider not that hard if your character overleveled.
I was like 6 when i played this and for some reason i found the first knight boss in the labyrinth so hard, then i got thorugh the game smoothly i still cant rly do it today.
A Harry Potter JRPG is something I never knew I needed as a kid, and I'm so glad I got to experience it. And it was based on the far superior book!
love that they applied the jrpg formula to this story
NiGHTS It was incredibly ambitious for a licensed GBC title, for sure.I would buy a game where it had the whole series in this JRPG style. A man can dream. 😝
I don't. That's why I prefer the GBA version.
@@elephant35e the GBA version fucking sucks
@@joaonitro5149 What!?!? The GBA version is absolutely amazing! So much exploration in there!
I agree, just like with the previous game. Makes it feel like Final Fantasy and Pokémon.
Man, big props to my parents for grabbing this title for me when I was a kid. Hundreds of hours dumped...amazing game
This has to be one of the best looking GBC games ever made
I absolutely loved the music in this game lol
Oh my god..some of the music especially in the early stages of the game is so nostalgic for me. This is so wild.
It's 20 years ago... the last time i played it is when i was 9...
This makes me really wanna get my gameboy out again and start playing
Did you do it?
@@sempre8135 your mom? Yeah.
Got this for christmas in 2002 and loved it! 18 years ago now, fuck I’m old
iv forget most about the game, but back in the day iv mastered this game to where i only had a few wizard cards i couldn't find due to not having access to the internet at the time. man times have changed. this game was worth every penny.
The replay value was good too. Picking the different wizard card decks at the beginning gave you different cards. The reward for beating the games were excellent (famous Harry Potter card that let you learn all the spells without grinding them out)
hard to believe this is the last game to be released on the game boy color
I just wish that someone would make the entire Harry Potter series in this style of game!
@@robinetdeaufroide its called rpg
Oh god I haven't played this in well over a decade but when I listen to all this sound effects, from interaction ones, spells, enemies running away... it's as if I had just played the game yesterday. So great!
I remember playing this game over and over as a kid, the game would restart after you beat it so I would start over and beat it from the start in a single day lol. Which is quite rare for me since I've always gotten bored with games really easily.
Oh wow its been 16 years since i first played this game. It was (and still is) an amazing game for the gameboy color. i played it so many hours, my savefile is clocked at 99 for hours on hours, i beat every challenge there is in this game and i continued playing because its that great. I can barely remember whats going on in this game anymore and it will be a good two hours now. Thanks!
What can u tell abou hogwarts exploration? Is it fun? Does it has many sidequests and secret rooms to find and see?
@@retro_marmota I honestly cant remember that much of it but there where atleast a lot of hidden items to find. Rooms i dont know if there where any secret ones but i belive there where. Sidequests i have to give a solid "i dont know" back to you. Its been too long sorry.
Man how long has it been since I played this game. Glad to see this on youtube👍
Man does this bring back memories. I remembered how much I struggled with these games haha. Kinda makes me want to replay them now that I'm older haha x)
I still remember how much I loved the music in this game. I used to just hold the gba to my ear to listen to the music for a while I played when I was a kid.
There is something satisfying in throwing Peter Pettigrew into the faces of the enemies.
I couldn't believe it when I saw a time like this, and amazing job here! It is so hard to defeat all these battles when grinding for the bare minimum in experience, and doing it all in one try, major props to you. This must be a hard game to run, with all the RNG in it, but hopefully you can totally break it someday! Btw, using the weak point card attack combo on the final boss was genius! XD
Thanks man. This game is getting more and more difficult to run, the RNG makes things complicated, especially at the end, since you are literally just high enough in level to take two hits from Aragog, that's what makes it the hardest fight in the game now.
God, I wish I had played this, the spritework is beautiful
Wish they'd continued the series like this and Philosphers stone on the gameboy consoles. they were both fun as hell.
If you ever get the chance get the Prisoner of Azkaban for GBA. That one is an Rpg like the 2 Gameboy Color ones. I loved it. I wished the rest of the games would have been Rpgs though.
My actual childhood. I'm so glad I discovered this gem.
how does this take less than 2 hours I spent like 30 hours on one game, lmaoooo
Good job dude that's really good !
Thanks. I am still in shock of how well this run went.
Un auténtico juegazo. Tenía un punto rollo Pokémon con los combates que era la polla. Y lo mejor era empezar la partida con el nivel con el que te lo pasaste, para completar los cromos y esas cosillas que faltaban.
That's an incredible time. Congrats!
Thanks. I'm hoping to get sub 1:41 at least now before I'm done with this game.
Holy crap the flashbacks are overwelming. Experiencing memories of a game that I played two decades ago
Unlucky resist on that beater in the beginning, but solid run man. I'm impressed, I used to play this game all the time when I was younger. I did some grinding until level 4 or 5 before I got done with the house-cleaning phase. No regrets on it either
I remember playing this and then going to the mall afterwards on Halloween
This brings back such deep memories
Hands down the best game ever. The GBC is the only 1 like this, usually people think about the ps version and it's just not the same lol
And philosophers stone GBC was awesome haha not as good in my opinion
I had the PC games. They were great. But I had this game and the GBA Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone one too. I never got past the fight with the Basilisk.
How is the castle exploration in this game? Does it has alohomora or something to unlock hidden areas?
@@retro_marmota Even better
20:40 I was so dumb when I was a kid, this was as far as I could go
I loved this game as a kid! I played it soo much
I remember being so young I couldn't even read the text on the screen. I played the opening to the game so many times over and over again. The nostalgia is hitting hard.
This game is Amazing on so many levels
Love the shit out of this game and your speedrun!
The last game on game boy color
And Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 was the last N64 game.
Was it really? I sure am glad I was able to experience this game as a kid haha
Yup. Last international release.
Use to play, this game all the time, when, I was younger. Might replay some of these before the new legacy one, comes out.
Actually this was the one i first played, this was so much fun , i had original copy this is amazing , lost through the passage of time
I loved this. Felt almost like playing the Pokemon games.
Still have this game, and just as wonderful as the previous title.
Ah that soundtrack. The garden music had lyrics in my head: "Do di di di dum de de dem... Hagrid's Garden"
This is a nostalgia moment I remember playing these games
Why the hell did this just pop into my head? I played like 11 years ago
Maybe you remembered the music?
Same!!! Except more like 17 years ago haha
Right...
@@loganbigmo yeah I did that’s what brought me here
I went into the chamber of secrets forgetting to buy any potions... never managed to kill the basilisk. this speed run finally brought me closure 20 years later.
I was in almost the same situation. What I did? I just kept leveling up in final zone, without potions, and then beat the game
THE Feels, best game ever made of its time, tho the Hiss noise and the dark themea and tune when the cat was hung still gives me nightmares to this day.
I do like that this game is better than the last game for the last book on GBC.
I still remember follow the trails of spider. Most difficult for me to complete atleast 2 months. This is of of the best game i played in my childhood.
1:08:33 What a marvelous lunch!
I just suddenly remembered this game... Oh so long ago now.. Still have my gameboy but have no idea what happened to this game lol
Defeating Aragog was so difficult when i was younger. But i do remember completing it.
Philosopher's stone i played many times over, but that Aragog boss in Chamber of Secrets was so hard i only ever did it once and then i was exhausted, don't think i finished the Basilisk.
Dude me too! We couldn't defeat him, me or my siblings, and so we moved into other games, and came back to it some months later and managed to get past, and man what an awesome and immersive game.
Suddenly remembered this game after encountering the deathday party in hogwarts legacy. This is definitely on my to play list now. Be cool if they added this to the switch list though probably won't happen
I must admit... I remember the musics from this game the same musics of the film... Then I realized that Gameboys only had that retro polyphonic music at that time 😅
Memories....
Thanks for this.
Amazing! How did you record this?
Battling toasters... reminds me of Earthbound, LOL!! I miss this. Its button battery died, so all saves were lost! I mean in teenagehood.
yeah the graphics rly do look like earthbound too me
Good old memorys
this game was badass.
I played this game so much years ago. One thing is still frustrating me. There was that book that showed you all the enemies you encountered. Founded all of them except for 3. One of them was a turtle for sure. Left was the red turtle middle was blank because I didn't found it and right was the blue colored turtle. Man I still hate this
I forgot all about this game! Never did beat it getting my ass whooped by that spider in the woods.
Hi, do someone know where/how i can play it on a pc. I don't even own a game boy rn, and i remember this game from when i was a kid and it will be awesome to play it again, and to have some response. Thanks
Which deck card is the best. I see the speed run using the Woman deck, is it better than merlin ?
so more and 2002 year this good.
I remember when I played this game back when I was a child, and the first knight boss fight was a pain for me 😂😂😂😂
Hey. Sorry I've been so busy. Congrats on the run if I haven't said it already. Have you made any progress on Sorcerer's Stone?
Thanks. And I have, I am about to start Herbology.
Ok cool. Let me know if you need any tips or have route questions. I'm busy but i can always check messages.
i used to play this game as a child
i remembered when i could beat the game in 6 hours and i thought that was impressive.
This the last GBC Game ever created
I finished this game so many times, so fkin good, I never got all the collectibles sadly, even with my multiple runs
I tried running the game for fun today with just what I remembered and did most of the things in the same way, but I got stuck at the final battle because I didn't have weak point. Is there a setup to always get it? Also what's the purpose of the dueling club battles? I'm guessing money or adjusting stats for specific encounters?
You get the combo for Weak Point in Diagon Alley, you can see that at 22:48. There is also a faster version of this run, though riskier, ua-cam.com/video/uAszlAhg5zI/v-deo.html.
Fighting in the Dueling Club is to get experience up to level 13 so that I can take 2 hits from Aragog.
SMP thanks!
It is amazing how fast you skipped all the dialogues. Did you spam A, B and select or there is a trick?
I'd also like to know
This is an extremely late reply to this I know, but at the time of this run it was fluid A and Select button press.
This is the Last Gameboy Color Game in America, Doraemon no Study Boy was the Last Gameboy Color Game Ever, Mario Vs Donkey Kong was the Last N64 Game in America, CardCaptor Sakura was the Last N64 Game in Japan
Very good looking game for a GameBoy Color
As the video started I clicked on a random part of the video and saw harry potter bowling SMH
추억이다ㅠㅠ 사운드도 장면도 나 기억나네ㅜㅜㅜㅜㅜ
This game taught me to read when I was 5
Best version of this game right here. Idgaf
And the gamecube version
“Your last breath is a beautiful thing so you better not blurt out something fucking stupid like Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on Gameboy Color”
But Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a great game, and the ost is excellent.
@@joaonitro5149 I was just quoting a video im not trying to say anything about the actual game
didnt know it existed
are there any cheats for the my old boy emulator ?
music at 56:55 hits different
where can I get this game rom?
Oh my fucking god. I miss this game. I made to Aragog several times but only beat him once. I made it to the Basilisk but never beat him and then my save got erased ;-;
Yea the end boss was kinda hard
I played the whole game 6 time en still din't defeat the basilisk
54:12 scariest fucking moment in the game.
@@ahmetdibrani7404 the only way to defeat is to just heal and strike. And more important is to save game before fighting the snake
As I see it, Aragog was WAY HARDER than Basilisk! I remember beating basilink in my first chance but getting angry because Aragog defeated me again and again :V
Definitely a hardware pusher.
If only Nintendo would revamp and upgrade the graphics these games I wanna play them again
I never finished this game
24:02 train station
But I really don't like it when time dobby won't let Harry and Ron through the wall
just like everyone else, I got to the spider in the woods and said fuuuck thiss
I honestly feel like Aragog was the true boss of this game, not the Basilisk.
Cool harry potter☺☺☺
Man I really hated that spider boss, I never got to beat it.
I have never killed the last boss...
Took me months to find that fucking flower. Though I had to find mcgonagall somewhere in the castle. Smh
Nice, I played and beat this game on one save file so much that it corrupted.
haha, i had 99 hours on mine but it didnt corrupt
I've got one file that's been on 99 for so long it's bugged as well...but I just HAVE to keep the save file sitting there in case a woman ever visits, and then I'm right in there.
Maybe that’s what happened to mine too! I always thought one of my siblings erased my file lol
Just watching this first time.....
......how the heck is the player gonna beat basilisk in less than 1 minute?
1:05:39 Hospital
I want this on NSO
It tooks me months to beat aragog
