Dual-Voltage HotCoat Powder-Coating Gun gives you the most complete coverage from tight areas to large surfaces.
    Extremely durable finish
Coat and cure in under an hour!
    Easy to apply
    Quick color changes
    Economical
    Versatility with 2 settings
    Low 15,000-volt setting
High 25,000-volt setting for multi-coat coverage over larger areas
    Increased powder adhesion
    Minimal overspray
This innovative system will allow you to achieve the benefits of powder coating small parts instead of coating them with paint. The new Dual Voltage system gives you the capability to coat small areas using the Low 15kv setting. Or coat large areas using the High voltage setting 25kv. All you need is a compressed air source (5-10 PSI from a portable tank with a regulator or a compressor) and an electric oven or toaster oven.

I know this is an older post, I refurbished a VW early in 2000. I purchased the Eastwood system and did all the parts I could fit into an electric oven. I had a lot of fun with the project and the Eastwood people was accommodating. I want to start the Hobby again but gave away all my equipment years ago. I want to do my own bicycles and small projects that no one else wants to do, can wait to get started again with Eastwoods help and powders.

How thick can the powder coat be? And does base color effect the chrome powders finished look? And does clear help the chrome? I have seen some other chrome look. And it had to go over a black base, then clear?

For best durability you need to spray clear over the chrome, but it does make it look less like chrome when it's covered in clear. Here's a video showing the effects of a different base coat: ua-cam.com/video/nkfSkeh01cg/v-deo.html

The valve cover looks like it's from an early Datsun 240z or other Datsun vehicle with the L24.

I found this video very informative, thank you. I am in the UK, and researching table top ovens all of them I find listed online only go up to a maximum 230 degrees. You mention 400 degrees and I see yours shows 400 on its temperature dial. How critical is the 400 degree temperature or would 230 be OK? I'm guessing it would be a high cost to ship your oven to the UK, and then there is the voltage issue so that's a no no. Your advise would be most appreciated, thanks. Alan

It should be at 400°F for best results.

Thanks for the reply, I've just realised our ovens are rated in centigrade, so 400F is 204C, so I'm ok. Thanks.

my biggest question is engine components. if it only 280f to melt it, then whats to stop it from remelting again. when it heats up?

I meant it as a joke. I see the emoji did not show up in the post! I think the winning number was 8 anyway! I never figured you would give anything to those watching a video.
      Have a nice week ahead.

Yes, you can sure too long. A few minutes longer won't negatively affect the appearance, though.

Can the gun work at 220V?

    • @eastwoodco

No, it's only used with 120v.

Engineering/marketing FAILURE. So its good in 3 countries, none of which it was made in. Let me guess 50Hz won't work either.
