The Tibialis Anterior is such a crucial muscle in the leg that not many athletes pay attention to (until they get shin splints, that is).
And yes, if you've ever had a shin splint before, you know exactly where the Tibialis Anterior is. Right on the front of your shin.
But we often neglect this muscle, yet is is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL for helping our legs to decelerate, cut, and soften the load of landing from a jump. Without strong tibs, your knees end up taking a lot of the impact force, often causing a lot of knee pain. (And if you're an avid follower of @TheKneesovertoesguy , then you already know what I'm talking about here).
But for those of us who have had surgery on one knee already, there is often some strength discrepancy between the two legs. And that's where the Solo Tib Bar from @thetibbarguy is really a key player.
Check out the video to watch my full review of this amazing piece of equipment for knee pain resolution.

Yes! For anyone interested the Tib Bar Guys products they have been great to incorporate in my leg day workouts. Nothing quite like it on the market. Great explanation of the product Victoria!😀
Great information! Am looking at specific training for tibs and appreciate the breakdown of this equipment. Excellent content!😊👍
Second more ATG content! I only recently found Ben Patrick's work and I am convinced that it will help me a lot. I shattered my kneecap in a bad car accident 6 years ago. I lost about a third of the kneecap and had to have the patellar tendon relocated. PT focused on building quad strength, but neglected other muscles. On my own, I have been working on glute, hamstring and calf strength, but I knew nothing about the need to strengthen the tibia muscle. I am 70 years old, have always been active and fit in the traditional way, I had totally bought into the no knees over toes party line. Ben Patrick's work has convinced me that's all wrong. I especially appreciate your videos because they are so accessible and well explained making me feel confident that I can work my way up to them. Thank you so much!
You're so welcome! Hope you enjoy the program!
Love it! Thank you!
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you code saved me enough to cover shipping , who dosen't love free shipping :) I was on the fence about what tib bar to get till I saw your review thank you
You’re so welcome! 😎
1980 my tack coack has us train tib and run backwards. of course there was no you tube or internet so unnless you had a good coach there was no info . and there were no tools. we used the fence it had a dog bar at the bottem you can find in most dog parks. put your toes under pull them up and lean back stronger you get further you can go, whiel your weak use back leg for stability also when you want full range of motion.
We gonna call you Strong Tib Vic!
Heyyyy i like that!
Yes. More ATG content!
Glad you're enjoying it!
3:17 Hey, how does the tibialis really help with the landings forces? Gastrocnemius and the soleus are braking the motion, of course, if you land on the ball of your foot, as we can see in your video. But the tibialis?
There are several studies that show how the tendinous issue of the TA helps absorb impact energy with landing forces. Of course it's not the only muscle responsible, as you mentioned, but it plays a role in the stabilization of the lower leg when landing.
Interesting. I just bought one and it's changed.
Why not use a resistance band or cable machine
You can definitely do either. I started doing those. But there is stone thing different about using a Tib bar with the weight distribution and gravity. It feels much different
I bought this tib bar and it doesn't work with Rogue calibrated plates. Just FYI.
Thanks for the heads up
No showing it being used?
Go to 7:19 and you’ll see it being used
You have the most beautiful eyes!
