    Tibialis training is all the rage right now. Training the tibialis has been around for ages, but the Knees Over Toes Guy really made tibialis training popular. The tibialis is an often neglected muscle and can be very useful in building a strong foot and shin to help you run and jump with less likelihood of getting injured. As a result, a ton of new equipment has made its way to the market to better help you train the tibialis. Today we are doing a review of the two most popular pieces of equipment called the Tib Bar and the Tib Solo Bar. We will also talk about how these pieces of equipment compare to bodyweight tib raises or DIY tib bar alternatives.

    I'm going to buy this, but I also have the monkey foot and I think it may be better for hip flexor training (Knees raises) due to the fact that the weight is directly under the heel and the pull is transferred directly up the leg to the hip (less distance to travel). Since the Tib Solo has weight on the end of your foot, the monkeyfoot will feel more stable lifting the knee since the weight is not protruding off the end, and the tension does not have to travel through the moving foot and ankle up to the hips.

    Sounds great especially when I have a muscle imbalance due to multiple kneee surgeries on the same knee. Which made my body very stiff

    6:13 - Nice video. This got me thinking a lot about using one of these for leg extensions and I saw you can flip it around for hamstring curls, but, at higher weights it would all be on the upper foot, and that would really suck lol. The tibias would also give out LONG before the quads. I clearly didn't think this through very much. Found different exercises I prefer anyway for only knee-bending quad and hamstring stuff.

    The first gym I ever trained at back in the 80s had an actual Tibialis Anterior machine.
    There is NOTHING that develops that muscle as well as full range of movement resistance with iron!
    I’ve yet to find a gym lately that has one. So I’m going to buy one of your 2 foot tip bar thingies.

    Can it take a good mount of weight without the plates slipping when placed vertically? Thinking of using them for knee raises as well.

    Thanks for this. I think you have sold me. I am assuming that it would also be effective doing ankle inversion/eversion?

      Well that was the purpose. It’s a sales pitch. Using bands or the body weight version is perfectly ample for this exercise.

    Which is better to use when you want to do quads and hamstrings? I hope you can make a tutorial video on how to do leg curls and leg extensions using the tib bar and the tib solo.

      I’d look at the Nordic Curl machine for hamstrings.

    have you tried the tib bar vs monkeyfeet for prone hamstring curls. Which one feels better for the knee and able to load?

    • @sportsrehabexperts
      @sportsrehabexperts  Рік тому

      none feel great honestly, the mechanical disadvantage of the weight is different from a machine. The weight resistance act straight down and lose resistance around 45 deg

      @@sportsrehabexperts damn truly no way around other than buying knee ext/knee curl machine if wanting to work at home. i find monkey feet too stressful on inner knee during leg extensions. Tib bar sounding too expensive for one purpose.

    do you think it could be possible to try and use the tib bar on a single foot even though it was made for two? Or would it be too cumbersome to really work?
