Some fun facts about Chipp Zanuff: 1. He was a drug addict, but helped kick the habit thanks to a ninja master. That's why he has the whole ninja aesthetic. 2. He ran for president of his country... and won. 3. For a time, one of the highest ranked Guilty Gear players in the world was a Chipp player who went by the gamer tag "joebiden." I do not believe the player's real identity has ever been revealed.
Actually, he couldn’t really convince anyone to vote for him in the US (where he is from), so he just found a part of ungoverned land in South Africa and decided to establish the Eastern Chipp Kingdom with himself as the president He of course also met Answer there, who’s his intelligence, diplomacy and bureaucracy all in one person But yeah, his story is quite insane
Things I love about chip's theme 1. It isn't very deep - chip as a character isn't complicated and nor is he really going about things in philosophical fashion. He is playing the hero until he dies. 2. The "Advice" Chipp gives in his song is contradictory often in the same sentence. showing he is kind of making it up as he goes along but one thing he knows for certain is that Life doesn't go the way you want and backing down isn't an option.
I love this song because it's just so catchy. You're super right about the chorus. It's just infectiously hype. Out of the context of the game and its storytelling, it's probably my second favorite song on the OST, after Love the Subhuman Self. Some more Strive songs I'd recommend: Armor Clad Faith, Crawl, and Let Me Carve Your Way.
A lot of recommendations For guilty gear 1. Safe intoxication 2. let me carve your way 3. keep in gates -A.B.A's theme- (Highly recommend) 4. hiruandon (Also highly recommend and personal favorite) Not guilty gear but. world.execute (me) ; by mili
Another great video man, you’re attention to detail on both the lyrics and music is amazing, I’d love to see your reaction to “let me carve your way” (Zato-1’s theme) but whatever you react to next I’m looking forward to keep it up man, much love
Chipp beat his drug addiction by learning ninjustu, became the bodyguard of the president of the USA and founded his own kingdom in South Africa. He is honestly just the best case of Guilty Gear's lore being wild in the best way.
I'm a big fan of Stryper, a hair metal band that started in the 80s bit is still going! I can definitely hear the influences in this like you mentioned
Honestly Chipp's theme has to be a favortie for me if bot for the simplicity of it just veing a feeo good song with honestoy fantastic bass and guitar its honestly the message that makes me the happiest. Granted it is straight forward keep your head high and face the world of problems head on but thats what you just need to hear sometimes you can either roll over and die or you can face the world like a overpossitive fool play the hero you want to be fight like a tiger and fly free!!!
Alright, somehow he hasn't yet listened to Let Me Carve Your Way, so I'm gonna nominate that something fierce. No clue how we've gotten this far without you guys begging for Zato's theme.
Probably because I don't think he's listened to Millia's theme, (I at least can't find Love the Subhuman Self in his past videos, it looks like the first song he reacted to was Requiem.) and the most emotional part of Carve Your Way hits the hardest after learning about their complicated history.
Hey man, i appreciate the content so far! If i have to request for the next guilty gear strive song, i would vote for "What Do You Fight For" (Nagoryuki's theme). Out of that franchise, i'd really like to see your opinion on "The Roar Of The Jungle Dragon" from the Terraria Calamity mod, huge banger.

Chip has already been through the lowest of lows, so theres only going up for him even with his theme song.
"Fly like an eagle soar through the sky! Be free till you die!"

You gotta do “ The Gravity “ soon. I feel if you enjoyed Drift you’d enjoy that as well. Very philosophical theme.

Nominating Roar of The Spark as your next GG Strive reaction song, its the best in the soundtrack IMO!
If you can check out "love the subhuman self" next, millia theme and it's my favorite one.
This analysis goes hard. I'd love to hear your opinion on "Crawl", also from Guilty Gear Strive.

Great video, if you're in need of a new soundtrack to listen to after finishing Strive I highly recommend the Punishing Gray Raven boss themes
