There's a video by GekkoSquirrel called "What does every Strive character theme mean?" That does a great analysis on how the songs relate to the character. I'd love to see how you react to finding out how deep these characters are.
Indeed, but a different video left me disappointed by the depth at which he dug into Faust, I also remember a video where some guys mom was reacting to the songs, and he literally didn’t even mention that testament was non binary when he was the one who was supposed to be guiding her through it
Dude the older versions of Burly Heart were so good. Once we got to the XX series, while having superior sound quality, a lot of songs felt stripped down. In my opinion Burly Heart was the most affected
Well, when you get back to Xrd, my first recommendation has to be Tsuki No Shihai, which is technically the only vocal character theme of the game (not counting Sols special theme, Ride The Fire). One of my personal favourites of the whole series!

I love the song from the vocals to the pace, and even the scratchy voice heard in the background but the lyrics “Don’t leave, Don’t leave me ‘Till Time Stands Still” in my perspective as an axl/ino main just make me confused because while beautiful as the lyrics are, in the lore, time has stood still and if you really want to get deep in my little tangent, you could say after time stood still, axl and ino did leave each other but besides that amazing songs all around
This is probably my favorite song from Guilty gear. The pacing, vocals and the piano sound just perfect. It's also great that in most of the songs the music isn't too loud to overpower the vocals and is just right to complement it.

a lot of the older games don't have lyrics in the songs, but are bangers. xx2's burly heart, feel a fear and shadow festival are all amazing songs

Before going to the older games, I really recommend the song "Crawl" in Strive. It's not a character theme, but a boss theme and it freaking rocks.

As others have said, please take a look at The Name of Heaven and Talk About You, as those will make for interesting stuff.
a couple more strive tracks would be "Rock and Roll, Rock Hard Maniac" and "In the Name of Heaven."

I find the vocals to have some Tatu vibes. Lyric length to how it's sung reminds me of the band. Sure this is more metal, but I'm just talking vocals.
