@Jonathan Parks not really. I know Lydia was sort of loud, obnoxious and spoiled..but honestly..she was 15!!! The parents never really taught her anything..they let her do whatever she wanted. It's too harsh, she didn't deserve it.
Charlotte got as good an ending in the book as could have done, given the times and her circumstances. She arranged the household so she could have as little interaction with Mr. Collins, and she has a comfortable home. Not as grand or romantic as being Mrs. Bingley or Mrs. Darcy, but still good.
It's 10 to 5AM for me! We have unhealthy UA-cam consuming behaviors.. rip our circadian rhythm. Can't believe we've perpetuated this sort of binge watching through almost half a decade 😂
I think I'm going slightly insane after watching all the episodes in less than two days... Charlotte and Lizzie: "That seems like a lifetime ago." "We were such different people." Me: "We really were!" C and L: "I'm glad we did it." "I am too." Me: "I am three!"
Saaaammmeeee. I'd always meant to watch an episode ever since Hank mentioned them when they were first starting and whoops, it's however many hours later and I've binge-watched the whole thing.
God, I love this finale. What makes the Lizzie Bennet Diaries so amazing is not necessarily the romance for me (although don't worry, there was flailing). What I think is the most powerful thing is the strong relationships between Lizzie and her friends and sisters. Today it can be so hard to find a story from the perspective of a female that doesn't treat her platonic relationships as if they meant less than her romantic ones. The great thing about this series is that you don't even have to compare them. They are two separate spheres in their lives. They are both important to them, but neither of them are the only important thing. Each of these characters have wants and needs that go beyond just finding love, being financially stable, or having a good time. It means so much to me to see all of the relationships in this adaptation fleshed out in a way that makes them feel real, as if they are still out there living their lives even if they stopped recording them. This is my second time watching these, and it is just as good if not better this time around. So thank you.
Hannah Perez That's why I'm glad that Darcy isn't in this video--it's easy to focus on the romantic relationship and the shipping, but at the end of the day this series is about Lizzie and how she's grown and changed, and while Darcy is definitely part of that, Charlotte and Lydia have been central to that since Day 1, even before she met Darcy.
You probably won't see this at this point, but another series that also has a really great balance between sisters/family and romance is To All The Boys I've Loved Before (the books by Jenny Han especially, though the movie still shows the sister relationships)

They got the Emmy for Transmedia content. Ashley Clements' interviews Jay Bushman on the Look Back Diaries. Has some really interesting behind the scenes stuff.
This was fantastic. How is it that every version of Mr. Darcy is always so dreamy? It's not even about the looks... Honestly though. I am so impressed. What a revolutionary idea.

What a great ending- even though it's been a year since the Diaries ended, I like to think that Lizzie and Darcy are still walking the unforgiving hills of San Francisco Gigi and Lydia are totes besties, BTW. ;)
I completely loved this adaptation of pride and prejudice. Would you believe I completed this in one day? Everything was perfect from the script to the casting. Perfect. Loved this so much.
(Spoiler alert on the book, The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet) Lydia's future plan: move to SF too to pursue Psychology in College Mary's: be an accountant in Lizzie's start-up, be Lydia's roomie in SF Love thiiiss for theeem
This series was really well done and stayed very true to the book. The modernization worked amazingly well in may ways. Only 3 things bothered me: 1) In the book, Lizzie knows that Caroline is a phony from the start. 2) One of the reasons Elizabeth's mind changes about Darcy (in the book) is when she meets the housekeeper at Pemberley, who has taken care of Darcy all his life and has nothing but good things to say about him. This was missing here. The only people saying good things about Darcy are Bing & Darcy's relatives. Might have been nice to have a janitor or cleaning lady or mail clerk or other low-level employee who's worked at Pemberley for years to interrupt Lizzie filming, come in, & praise Darcy while they do their task. Then Lizzie can see a different side of Darcy as a beloved boss. 3) Most importantly, missing here is Elizabeth's confrontation with Lady Catherine--it's the culmination of the entire book and where Lizzie stands her ground. Substituting Caroline just didn't come off, since Caroline has no leverage with Darcy. One of the main themes of the book is the relationships between parents and children. The Bennets are bad parents, and Lady C is a terrible parent to Anne and infuriating aunt to Darcy. (The Gardiners, on the other hand, are exemplary parents.) I really missed Elizabeth's confrontation with Catherine (as surrogate parent, authority figure AND upper class snob) and Darcy's realization that since Elizabeth talked back to Lady C, he still had a chance.
*Looks at the watch* Well, it's only 2:30am. It's not like the alarm is set at 6:45am. But it is. Rewatched the entire series in a day. Just. One. Day.
I got quite teary there at the end - until your mom came in and then I LOLed. Thanks for sharing your life with us for a while (and giving us new insights into Austen).
Well, I discovered this yesterday and binged it in less than 15 hours, now to go watch the movie, buy the Lizzie Diaries book to sit next to my Jane Austen collection, and then read fanfiction. Specifically fanfiction of Darcy reacting to the videos.
Omg, I can't believe that is over!!! I watched everything in 3 days, now WHAT I DO WITH MY LIFE? This was so good, I am glad to had the opportunity to make part of this... like... I feel that I make part of this, that I met all the characters and passed thru all the situations. Thank you Lizzie Bennet.
Kate Rorick, I would just like to say that even though I basically knew exactly what was going to happen, it was still so surprising when it did. You did a wonderful job at adapting a classic novel into a modern-day UA-cam series. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS!!!!!
This was the most perfect series/videos I have ever had the pleasure of watching on UA-cam. It was done so perfectly, it had the moments of pure joy to its dark days. The acting was amazing and I feel like I did when I finished the Harry Potter series, like I wanted more but I knew that a chapter had closed. I haven't read Pride and Prejudice in such a long time, and I don't think I would understand it the same if I read to today. Bravo.
Gahhhhh constant straight hours of watching these videos and I am so sad they are done. I love P&P and loved this rendition as well. :) So wonderful! I will be sure to watch them over and over again
Watching this years later during the pandemic. I binged it in one day and loved it! Also, this reminded me of how we all had the same hairstyle in the early 2010s...
Like a lot of people, I just binge-watched the entire series (for the first time, I may add), and I'm off to watch a film adaptation of the book now. Thank you for making me cry and squeal, dear makers of this series!
You know just a few weeks ago I was wishing I could experience Pride and Prejudice for the first time again and then today the first episode popped up in my recommendations and about five episodes ago I realized I was having the exact same experience with this that I did my first time with the book. It's not often you get to experience one of your favorite things for the first time twice but boy, did this one manage that.
GUYS IVE WATCHED THIS VIDEO SO MANY TIMES BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED LYDIA IS WEARING THE NECKLACE LIZZIE AND JANE GAVE TO HER FOR HER BIRTHDAY THE FEELS ARE SO REAL RIGHT NOW
I finished this in a span of 4 days (had to work)... AND I LOVED IT. This is a great example of what UA-cam is for... actors were great, the script, the plot twists!! It's been an absolute pleasure to watch these. I'm kinda sad I found these late (2016, right now) but I declare myself a fan.
I just spent 6 hours watching this because I couldn't stop! I have to say, that was the most perfect ending ever! I laughed so hard! You did such a fantastic job of blending romance, angst, and humor; all the different elements came together to make this a truly phenomenal series with some important moral lessons. I am so impressed with the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and you should be very proud of yourselves. Wonderful writing, wonderful acting, so much ingenuity and creativity... five stars to you.
I remember watching these one week at a time as they came out and now here I am watching 100 in two days lol. Still sobbing because I never wanted these to end.
Every time I rewatch this series and get to the ending, I always go watch Hank's video talking about how this got created. I love Hank and everything he has created over the years, but LBD is what I am most thankful for.
I discovered the series a month ago and Ive been so obsessed with it since then. Literally i cant stop watching fan videos of dizzie and wishing I could forget the series to rewatch it again! For a P&P fan TLBD is gold and I will forever be greatful. Greetings from Spain 🇪🇦♥️
I'm watching this for the first time, after it's been 11yrs since it released, and it still slaps. I loved this webseries so fricking much, thank you to the creators for this delight!! I'm a huge fan of the novel and it's been adapted so many times, but this is definitely up there. It's aged well (minus 2010's fashion) and I'm glad to have experienced this.
NOW WHAT WOULD I DO WITH MY LIFE. I may have been a year late, but I just want to say THANK YOU too for creating these series. It's brilliant, and I kind of want to produce some things like these, when I finally got the guts and learned many more things. (Lizzie and I have the same course but I'm still a freshman but I'm pretty sure the future's harsh and bright altogether). I haven't read Pride and Prejudice book but I watched the movie and episodes version years ago. I was young then, I haven't understand most of the part. (I was just in it for the dresses before) Somehow watching these made me understand deeply the story, and I am impressed that you did a spin off of this. I grew up with Lizzie, and all the others, and I'm now a little more careful about judging others and loving your family. I was quite Lizzie back when my sister's boyfriend broke up with her and when she was breaking it to us, I was the one who cried first than her. Anyway, the series been a blast and I want to thank all those who made these possible and maybe I can rewatch all these someday. This is just so *TOTES ADORBS*
OMG...I just went two nights watching all these....I'm speechless. I even shed a tear because it was the last vid, and I just started yesterday. I can't imagine how everyone who watched this since the beginning felt when it was over...a YEAR ago. omg where have I been? why don't I come across this part of the internet always? I'm staying, I'm staayiiiiing I say!!! * runs to watch EMMA*
It is the year of our lord 2019 and I have spent this entire thanksgiving day watching this and I can confirm that somehow pride and prejudice will be the death of me
I marathoned these just for about 8 hours straight. It's 3:11am. They are such an amazingly well crafted piece of art and I'm so glad they were made and became so popular.
Got to finish this again during the 2020 pandemic. Still as good as the other dozen times I watched this. I guess I have time to watch it again if I want to 😂
I always cry at the end when she says "My name is Lizzie Bennet and thank you for watching my videos" And I have watch LBD like four times already! This will always be my favorite spin-off of Pride and Prejudice
So. Just finished my second rewatch of the series...this time with the Lydia vlogs. And in between I listened to the audiobook of The Secret Diaries of Lizzie Bennet. All within the month of January. I need a life.
I've always wondered and am still wondering who the other collins is in collins and collins or if he really likes his name and had no one else's to put it with
Might be his father, but I think it's supposed to be his fiancee... Because in the original novel he's so obsessed with finding a wife, a "mrs. Collins" , that I think he named his company in honer of her, himself of course and also a bit out of possessiveness/control and safety in his mind... Or they just couldn't think of something else that would suit mr. Collins so well as his own name being up there twice. Don't forget that the whole partnering idea was supposed to be incredibly off-putting for Lizzie. And what other way to do that than make him ask everyone to call him "mr. Collins" all the time and then the partnering double that!
Is this you being awesome and analysing? :) or did you miss the episode where Lizzie says that the other Collins is his dad? That he was the first investor? :)
Lizzie Bennet, there is no need to thank us, we need to thank you. Because of your videos so many friendships have been made, so many hours of entertainment, and I have never before been look forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays as I was when you were posting. Your videos have help us grow, changed our perspective on life, and taught us so many life lessons I've lost count. Your videos have rekindled my love of literature and encouraged it even more. Thank you Lizzie, and Goodbye.
I can't believe I didn't stumble across this sooner!! This was an AMAZING series and the whole cast is so talented and genuine and hilarious (not to mention ridiculously pretty ;D) What a great ending! Can't wait to watch all the extras :D
I just recently knew this show by searching for Pride and Prejudice adaptations and it feels so different from the original story... Don't get me wrong, I think this adaptation is amazing, but it's just that the originals, written too many years ago, doesn't feel as real as this show feels. I am pretty sure I'll be here re-watching these videos several times in the future, but for now I'm still wondering about everything I just saw. Thank you so much for everyone who made it possible, I really loved this 100 episodes (and the side ones). I just have to figure out how to live my life again-
I binged this all night, it's 7h47am currently and I really should get some sleep lol. I watched all of the 160 videos, and, man, now I actually feel compelled to read the book. Best adaptation ever!
How she says it feels like a life time ago and I'm like it's only been two days. I can't believe I watched them so fast goodness.😊 other then the language it was a good modern twist of Pride and Prejudice.
Wow!!! The way that this whole project was set up, all the other website and the timeline, its as if the characters really existed, I would believe that they existed if I haven't read the book. I wish I could have discovered these videos earlier and actually followed them in real time.
Gosh, rewatching this while making reviewers for exam for the past 5 days and gosh I have an exam later and I haven't reviewed too busy re-watching this ~ I miss this show so much
Best part of this adaptation: that Lydia didn't end up with Wickham.
Also that Charlotte didn’t end up with Mr. Collins
@@fanc.5711 oh yeeeeeeeees
@Jonathan Parks not really. I know Lydia was sort of loud, obnoxious and spoiled..but honestly..she was 15!!! The parents never really taught her anything..they let her do whatever she wanted. It's too harsh, she didn't deserve it.
And that being with him isn't framed as a "punishment" for her being a boy-crazy teenager.
what I like about this adaption was that they gave Charlotte a better ending, in my opinion.
And Lydia doesn't end up with a douche, they both have a better ending. :)
trueeee, she deserved better
Charlotte got as good an ending in the book as could have done, given the times and her circumstances. She arranged the household so she could have as little interaction with Mr. Collins, and she has a comfortable home. Not as grand or romantic as being Mrs. Bingley or Mrs. Darcy, but still good.
Lydia is wearing the necklace Lizzie and Jane gave her for her birthday. I'm not crying. You're crying.
I think she was wearing it in one of the videos with *hisses* Wickham. One of those where he was talking smack about Lizzie. That was a nice touch.
"Darcinator"?
And she wears color.
Arguably the best part of the entire series is finding out Lizzie's weird impersonation of her mother was *entirely accurate*.
Mary hinted at it in the party video when she called Lizzie's impression "scary," but the confirmation was hilarious
"feels like a lifetime ago"

In a week? That's weak
I just counted up all the running time of these 100 videos. 449 minutes and 7 seconds. That's 7hrs, 29 minutes and 7 seconds!!
What a great ending- even though it's been a year since the Diaries ended, I like to think that Lizzie and Darcy are still walking the unforgiving hills of San Francisco
Gigi and Lydia are totes besties, BTW. ;)
Lizzie: "I never got to meet any of you, but hopefully you got to really know me :)"
Gigi: "Am I a joke to you?"
I like how Lydia's wearing the gold necklace Jane and Lizzie gave her. :)
i was so happy when lydia said 'whaaaatt'
"It feels like a life-time ago." I started watching this yesterday...
I completely loved this adaptation of pride and prejudice. Would you believe I completed this in one day? Everything was perfect from the script to the casting. Perfect. Loved this so much.
(Spoiler alert on the book, The Secret Diary of Lizzie Bennet)
Lydia's future plan: move to SF too to pursue Psychology in College
Mary's: be an accountant in Lizzie's start-up, be Lydia's roomie in SF
Love thiiiss for theeem
Just. One. Day.
Estitxu Vitoria López did the same xD
Now you have Emma Approved, Classic Alice, The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy, Carmilla, and In Earnest.
Kelleen BRX omg thank you
Kate Rorick, I would just like to say that even though I basically knew exactly what was going to happen, it was still so surprising when it did.
Yup! UA-cam! Super cool video blog like things that are a modern twist on pride and prejudice. :) 100 episodes! About 3-6 minutes each
Sarah Lesan have you checked out Emma Approved? I loved that series also; it's a modern adaptation of Emma also by pemberky digital :)
No I haven't Carla Smith But that sounds great! Thanks! :)
"Lizzie, what are you and dear Charlotte doing in here?"
*internally explodes*
You know just a few weeks ago I was wishing I could experience Pride and Prejudice for the first time again and then today the first episode popped up in my recommendations and about five episodes ago I realized I was having the exact same experience with this that I did my first time with the book. It's not often you get to experience one of your favorite things for the first time twice but boy, did this one manage that.
GUYS IVE WATCHED THIS VIDEO SO MANY TIMES BUT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED LYDIA IS WEARING THE NECKLACE LIZZIE AND JANE GAVE TO HER FOR HER BIRTHDAY THE FEELS ARE SO REAL RIGHT NOW
I HAVE A LIFE DETERMINING EXAM IN THE MORNING. I SPENT ALL DAY BINGING THIS. I REGRET NOTHING
It's been over three years. I've watched the entire series 6 or more times. This still makes me want to cry.
The Darcynator haha XD
It is the year of our lord 2019 and I have spent this entire thanksgiving day watching this and I can confirm that somehow pride and prejudice will be the death of me
I am glad to join the ranks of the people who watched the entire series in 2 days. This was an amazing show that i wish i could have seen unfold live
I marathoned these just for about 8 hours straight. It's 3:11am. They are such an amazingly well crafted piece of art and I'm so glad they were made and became so popular.
Got to finish this again during the 2020 pandemic. Still as good as the other dozen times I watched this. I guess I have time to watch it again if I want to 😂
Lizzie's mom finally showed up. I'm crying.
I always cry at the end when she says "My name is Lizzie Bennet and thank you for watching my videos" And I have watch LBD like four times already! This will always be my favorite spin-off of Pride and Prejudice
I remember watching these when they first came out and now it's almost like reconnecting with an old friend. 💖
Started watching these two days ago...and SOMEHOW ended up at the end. All I can complain about is WHY DID I NOT FIND THESE SOONER!?!?!
MRS. BENNET AT THE END THOUGH.
I am a teacher in training and this have given me great ideas.... these were the best two nights my life.... THANK YOU LIZZIE BENNETT
So. Just finished my second rewatch of the series...this time with the Lydia vlogs. And in between I listened to the audiobook of The Secret Diaries of Lizzie Bennet. All within the month of January. I need a life.
I've always wondered and am still wondering who the other collins is in collins and collins or if he really likes his name and had no one else's to put it with
***** I think the other Collins is his father
@@HolandaChiquita why do i have a feeling that collins is gay and his fiance is male and thats why no on emets him
it's 3:30 am. I regret nothing.
Yup. 4 months later, and the fans have not changed. XD Me too.
Misha I just finished it now, at 5:15 am, and I know that feel xD
I just have to figure out how to live my life again-
It's 3:30 in the morning and I just finished watching every episode. I'm in love with show! It's so funny, heartwarming, and tear-jerking! Thank you!
I binged this all night, it's 7h47am currently and I really should get some sleep lol. I watched all of the 160 videos, and, man, now I actually feel compelled to read the book.
Best adaptation ever!
aaaand I am in tears. going to miss these characters so much.
Oh my god I started and finished this all in one day what did I just do to myself.
I'm in the same boat as you. I feel so changed from these videos omg.
If it helps, at least it's based on great English literature. It's not like you binge watched Jersey Shore.
I'm so sad its finally over!!! So happy we finally saw Mrs. Bennet though!!
started at 10 pm yesterday slept at 4 am, woke up at 12, finished at 4. SUCCESS. #thiswasnotplannedwell
Literally same. Like the EXACT same
Gosh, rewatching this while making reviewers for exam for the past 5 days and gosh I have an exam later and I haven't reviewed too busy re-watching this ~
I miss this show so much
So glad I decided to rewatch these omg. I think it's about time for me to go start rewatching Emma Approved while I'm here...
