I think the 'Third Eye' by Tool referenced these words specifically: Dreaming of that face again, It's bright and blue and shimmering, Grinning wide

Carlin was great onstage and had a huge talent to talk in a funnier way to the masses, something Hicks never grasped, on the other hand, Hicks was a way more genuine and delievred much more insights, apart from disagreeing a lot with them.

@Lionel Switch your time will come. Then you will know. How the whole world has been deceived. I can assure the spiritual afterlife is real. I am a miltary veteran. Seen so much death I thought I could not bare the suffering. And since then a lot of spiritual experiences. Seen felt heard. Hundreds of times now. Scared the crap out of me at first now it does not bother me. Don't you tell me it was in my mind because other people in the same house saw the same. Or where ever I was staying. The world was taken over long ago by esoteric societies. From the Middle East to Asia the Babylonian Mysteries spread in every direction. It is was freemasonry was founded upon. The illuminated. The agenda is to destroy the idea of god and the afterlife. For some it is to make this world their own garden of eden in which they can live without any moral boundries. That everything is a learning curve. Even the worst crimes against humanity. Others also follow the lightbringer who they see as the true god of the earth. Who will bring in the Golden Dawn. Atheism is their greatest tool to destroy all other religion and beliefs. Charles Darwin Karl Marx Albert Einstein were all linked to freemasonry. Don't believe me look around. I knew many freemasons when I served. Bill Hicks followed new age beliefs. He was not an athiest. Some claim he faked his death. I don't know. I have no connection to him. I know he didn't even become very popular in the US until after his death. This is from Revelation filmed in London in 1992. The British were the first to think of him as a star.

I tried to sample this one time on a track I was working on. It's probably one of the most important things ever spoke in the past hundred years. I wrote a letter to his estate asking for permission or what I had to do to get permission. They don't loan his voice out anymore, which was a bummer. But on a positive note, He actually had a really cool brother who was nice enough to talk to me. It was the most polite letdown I ever had, and I just wanted to say that on the record. This man was a pioneer. RIP Bill Hicks 🙏

My mother, God rest her soul, passed away on December 19th 2019, she worked in the hospitality industry for her entire life. She'd often joke, "It's never lupus, except when it's your mom, M.! I'd feel pretty strange about it, because I loved House M.D. and so did she but that's what ultimately led to her passing away. I loved my mother, I always will, we loved Bill Hicks, Tool, art, (she drew and painted a lot, I play music and sometimes draw/write). Bill Hicks statement here has always served as an inspiration for me. I know that I can make my mother proud, I know that I can do so with or without an education, as long as I am happy, I have made her proud. @fldan1 9 років тому +21

I 100% agree, unfortunately there's not very many artists who have to means and influence to affect large groups of people and who chose to use that power for good. The comedic genius and loving soul that Bill Hicks possessed was a prophetic gift from God. People like him are typically killed off when they're young - before they have a chance to make any kind of a positive impact. There's no doubt in my mind that Bill Hicks was a modern age prophet and was most likely exposed to some kind of cancer-causing agent (aside from the cigarettes - he died at the age of 32) in order to shut him up. Artists (comedians, musicians, poets, writers, painters and so on) who are blessed enough to make a career as an artist need to listen to Bill and help evolve the ideas he gave birth to during his short time here in the physical dimension. Peace, Love, and Unity to all. God bless.

@@fldan1 I have thought the same thing. Bill was 'awake' and like he said here, awake people with platforms often get killed by the establishment before they wake up too many other people. Thankfully he got his message out and many more people are waking up now. But the world would have been much better if he and the other awake people hadn't been killed. They'd potentially have woken up the whole world by now. I do think eventually a critical mass will wake up but it's just taking a while due to all of the incessant propaganda, lying, gaslighting, deceit and distractions they constantly throw at us.

It takes a lot of reflection, and a special soul, to be able to utter these words with conviction. It shows an impressive level of awareness.

"Is there a point to all this I don't know, let's find a point. i have to. The world is like ride in an amusement park and when you choose to go on it you think its real because that's how powerful our minds are, and the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and its very brightly coloured and it's very loud; and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on this ride for a long time and they begin to question "Is this real or is this just a ride?" and other people have remembered and they come back to us and they say "Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever; because this is just a ride", and we KILL those people.
"Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account, and my family. This has to be real!"
This is just a ride but we always try to kill those good guys who try to tell us that - you ever notice that? Let the demons run amok? You ever notice that? But it doesn't matter because its just a ride and we can change it any time we want. Its only a choice - no work, no job, no effort, no savings of money - a CHOICE right now between fear and love.
The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off.
The eyes of love instead see us all as one. Here's what we can do to change the world right now to a better ride - take all the money we spend on weapons and defence each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing, and educating the poor of the world which it would do many times over, not one human being excluded and we can explore space together - both inner and outer, forever, in peace."

Jokes aside Im a marine former killer in the para military for blackwater and worked under a few other contracts and have seen more depth to the destruction of humanity than many will even see untrue fiction....basically I had my epiphany over finding god really does exist and Im not here to debate semantics.....I just need to get it out there that there is SO MUCH TRUTH IN COMEDIANS THESE DAYS THAT THEY ARE SOMETIMES RUINED FOR IT (Dave C., Katt Williams, and of course Robin Williams RIP) Godbless you for your simple yet awesome words of truth and I also do the same to keep giving as much truth to the americans all asleep as I can but like the Matrix said....Sometimes the people who are victims of the system they are enslaved by will fight against the ones trying to tell them the truth and defend the very thing killing them. Its not an exact quote but I think you and all others get the point. Cheers and heres a Joint and a brew lifted to those before and after us who are real truth telling human beings. Carpe Diem!

in a way I'm glad bill hicks, george carlin, hunter thompson et al. never had to see america as we are now in 2016.

But we got to see it, sadly... However, we must learn from them, laugh a little, learn lots more, stand up and hit back.
2016 has been so horrible that I don't want it to end, because 2017 sounds even worse... But, it's time to work on a better tomorrow, both in small and big ways. And, I'll end with a Fight Club quote: "It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything..."

Damn, his message is so profound. It amazes me that his knowledge and perspective in life is only understood by few. A lot comedian’s have stolen his material or have been inspired by him, and they did not give him credit. He’s the only comedian/philosopher that wasn’t bought by Hollywood, organization, or any corporation. The man stood alone. The man is a legend

Ever since losing my dad and my younger brother in 2017, this bit has made me cry like a baby, thinking of them. I cry,but Bill's logic also soothes me bc the Kantian logic is there...that reality is, quite literally, what we all agree on it being. It's like the scene in The Matrix where Neo visits the guy in the restaurant, and the guy points out that bc it's all illusion, he could take a bite of his steak and have it taste like chocolate.

In a documentary about Bill after he passed Wanda Sykes summed him up wonderfully. I foreot exactly how she said it, but it was something to the effect of most stand ups who were good would make you look at parts of life that might make you uncomfortable & then let you off the hook with a little sugar to help the medicine go down. But with Bill, there weren't no spoons full of sugar. Only truth.
I feel VERY fortunate to have been on this plane of reality when he was. What a gift he was.

May be the most most accurate answer.
