It's very important to know not to try to fight rip currents. Swim parallel to shore, stay afloat, and/or just hold your breath and let it take you out until it's easy enough to swim to the surface. Then, it becomes easy to swim back to shore.
@@lawnman3638that is not safe advice as someone who goes regularly you can be knee deep in water and one step forward can be so deep you can’t reach land anymore and with the ocean you’ll be pulled further out the second you can’t stand in your feet anymore
I was 8 when this happened to me in the ocean. I remember the riptide taking but I did my best to stay above water and keep calm, never taking my eyes off my grandparenta. Luckily I was only swept away a few hundred feet parallel to the beach and was able to make it out. Still fear the oceam.
I'm sorry for the victim's families but jesus christ people need common sense these days. Swimming at the beach after dark?? Really??? How on earth is that a good idea?
That water is so pretty. But not enough to die in. There has already been some other cases like this one very recently. It is sad. Why do people keep doing this. You have to be very careful. Where those three men from Alabama swimming at night time? That is even worst. I hope they recover their bodies for their love ones to bury. It is so weird how quickly it can happen. You are going their to have fun but then that happens. If only they would have known ahead of time. They would still be alive. We really need to take this stuff very seriosly people. We must take better precautions with this. Prayers and Condelences to their friends and family. R. I. Unfortunately, I think most people will panic and they will react without thinking about it. Youre right though.
May they rest in PEACE... 😔🙏📿
So sad, I’m sure panic takes over. I want to go to the beach but riptides scare me.
Just don't go in water above your shoulders and you will be fine.

Swimming in the Gulf after dark, after more shark sightings in the last century not a good idea. Tragic what happened to them.
Love Panama City Beach. Hate the riptides. RIP, mates.😢
Is drowning a new word for becoming distressed?
No, obviously they are saying the REASON that they drowned is because they panicked. Please try to use those brain cells, David.
