The score is absolutely fan-fucking-tastic. The end credits theme of episode 2 and the opening theme of episode 5 are just sooo good. I saw someone suggest that they would like to see Holt's take on Star Wars and I'm absolutely down for it.
such an iconic line truly a masterwork of script writing for the angry giant Thanos not to mention his yellow color looking like a lemon and his wrinkled forehead :)
Mobius was EASILY my favorite character. He felt so real and had a good sense of humor while still trying to get his job done. He has the audience point of view of Loki in this timeline trying to break through to who Loki really is. I can’t wait for him to get back next season
Me and my friends also appreciated Mobius and we would call him kachow cause he voice lightning McQueen. But when he died I actually felt something cause he was an actual human. You know had his interests.
I feel like he works because he was put with Loki. Mobius only told the truth, or at least what he thought was the truth, at the beginning of the season. Loki was a lying, scheming, rascal who betrayed him at every turn. Then, at the end, Loki has become the one telling the truth and the one looking out for others while Mobius is using deceit and trickery to beat the TVA. The characters, being total opposites, were able to build off of each other through the season and you almost don’t notice because it happens so naturally.
this was one of the first marvel IPs that had good ost to me. Usually they just invest in featured tracks and have the ost fade away as background nosie, but this one the compositions got some time to shine in quieter scenes
It’s slower paced but it’s not boring, the things being talked about keeps you hooked and the finale was so good, the lack of a massive sky battle was nice as that’s not what this show needed, definitely the best of the 3
@@eliascelis1632 same here. It was getting SO interesting and then it’s like, oh. It’s just a big CGI fight and none of this really matters anyway. Gotcha
I swear, Loki looks better than most MCU movies. Maybe not in the technical sense like the objective quality of the CGI and such, but the cinematography, color grading and style feels way more cinematic IMO.
i think what it is is it feels unique, the entire vibe and presentation is so different from a movie like, say, civil war, which feels a lot more Standard Big Movie. and thats not necessarily bad, but it is really really good to see something unique from the mcu. and i think loki knocked it out of the effing park.
This is the first MCU property where the music is distinct and recognizable. That main end theme was stuck in my head for a week after the first episode. Also the fact that nothing really happened in the finale( as in big space laser or battle) is such a breath of fresh air.
never would I dream that the term "selfcest" would be discussed beyond extremely questionable internet forums, let alone be a major plot point of a mega-budget Disney television project. What a time to be alive
It's setting up the What-If show, Dr Strange 2: Multiverse of Madness (Wanda Vision did that too), Spider-Man 3: No Way Home, and Ant-Man 3: Quantum Mania.
honestly, the absolute best part of the show Has to be tom hiddleston. his performance as loki was amazing, and his charisma really carried every single scene he was in (and probably contributed to everyone’s love for this character in the first place)
When I heard about the show I was like "Well if you just put Tom in a room and let him act for 35 minutes I would watch it, so anything after that is icing on the cake"
Sadly, he got sidelined in his *Own* show! Ever since Sylvie appeared, they make him a side character and he just there to get his ass kicked by everyone.
@@margarethmichelina5146 yeah i was annoyed with how weak he was, hes a super strong frost giant (albeit a runt) alien god (kinda) he was getting slapped around by fat black women in goofy suits. His inconsistent strength aside I generally liked him and the show
My only beef with this show is the fighting choreography. It’s so stiff and just not what I expect from Marvel. I know it’s a show and note a movie, but it’s so bad at times. Other than that, I love the show. The story is great and I love how creative they got with it
yup alot of times just making the choice to forget that obviously fake bit or that clunky by the numbers movie sword fighting lunge there, and it was easy cause of the story and characters.
My beef is definitely the quality of the CGI and things alike. After watching the Mandalorian, I was expecting other Disney+ shows to carry similar quality. But it looked a lot like power rangers(specifically episode 3). Hopefully it can look better in the future, but if not I will still be happy with the outcome.
Marvels movies always have pretty meh to bad choreography, also the fight scenes are edited rlly weird cuz they use stuntmen for every single fight scene.
Also they just seemed to have forgotten that Loki has super human strength lol… he was getting shoved around by human when in the first Avengers even Captain America’s punches couldn’t move him.

SPOILER TALK: Loki as a character has this core of self-loathing that is touched on in the movies. It is somewhat touched on in the show, but they don't hit you over the head with it. Our Loki falling in love with Sylvie is yes, narcissistic, but it also shows that they're willing to love "themselves." I thought the romance was a nice addition to the show.
I just realized that the road he's referring to had to have been the entire MCU. He created apocalypses for Sylvie to hide in and used the avengers and Thanos to get Loki to the TVA. Everything we have ever watched was his doing.
@@enriquesaenz3574 You could be right, but I personally think it's more like the timeline contains a bunch of events naturally and he makes minor changes to make sure that things end up the way he wants them. Like maybe he didn't make the apocalypses, but he did steer Sylvie towards them so that she could figure out to hide in them. That still means that he's letting the apocalypses happen rather than preventing them, but it's not clear how much power he actually has beyond being all seeing and having his agency. It could be that making huge changes is prone to creating unmanageable new timelines. Actually, now I think about it, that is exactly the point of the "sacred timeline". The sacred timeline is shown as a single main timeline with small branches splitting from it, but in reality a split should be equal with no timeline being favoured over the other. He Who Remains is selecting the branches that will lead to the outcome he wants and deleting the rest, it's only presented as a single "sacred timeline" to keep up the pretense that the TVA are doing the right thing by culling the other branches.

Richard Grant's Loki is literally the fan theory of "what if Thanos didn't really kill Loki" and you know what? @@1Seanmb true. That make sense and I agree Killmonger’s story ended in a good way but I wouldn’t be surprised if Disney brought back dead characters. The only character I don’t see them bringing back past What if is T’Challa, but that’s just out of respect for the late, great Chadwick Boseman.
they've confirmed also that What If will tie into the rest of the MCU which leads me to believe that this Killmonger BP that they've showed off in What If is going to be our new mainline BP, and I'm 100% on board with that
Fun fact: In the original Norse myths of Loki he cuts off Thors wifes hair in revenge and is later threatened to have all his bones broken if he doesn't fix it. I think that was where they got the idea for the time loop scene with Lady Sif.
Falcon and Winter Soldier reminded me of the old MCU, WandaVision hooked me, and Loki brought me back to the MCU in a way I haven't felt since Endgame.
He is forgetting that mammals have already been successfully cloned before. Hell if it were legal, human cloneing might already be possible with current technology.
@@SoraYoshi182 biggest hangup on current cloning is DNA damage. DNA has a limited number of times it can be replicated, which is why healing and general upkeep of the body deteriorate over time and we eventually die. It's possible to take an adult and clone their DNA, but the clone will have a significantly shortened lifespan due to the wear and tear of the original DNA used. There are ways to repair the DNA, but these tend to have other effects on the growth process, and that's where current cloning is. By other effects, I do mean uncontrolled growth and cancer (fun fact: there is an "immortal" group of cells from Henrietta Lacks that are immortal. In the first episode, when Loki is checked into the TVA, his file says “Sex: Fluid,” so I guess we actually did get some confirmation of him being gender fluid, even though Disney probably won’t want to explore it.
It's tricky because all non-binary people are desperate for some representation, but in the MCU being gender fluid is not that special. Unless you count regular earth/midguard. To focus too much on it would make it feel really ham fisted. Loki doesn't make being fluid a big part of his identity, so it shouldn't be a big part of the show.
@@Drake00000010 I think they're saying that its not a big part of his identity at all since asguard is different in regards to customs compared to earth so it wouldnt make sense for the show to dwell on it too much because then it would feel forced and unatural

@@misspriss2482 it's honestly how I always saw their relationship tbh. The show talks about free will. That grouping a set of people like the Loki variants is terrible cuz not every Loki is back stabbing, conniving, mustache twirling villan. Plus Sylvie is also trying to form her own path and to distance herself from the Loki title Plus we can see that she cares about Loki. I think her kissing him and then pushing him into the TVA in a different timeline was a way to protect him but she immediately regrets her decision cuz she was blinded by rage because of what the TVA has done to her
It’s nice to see someone actually acknowledging the brilliance of this show. Many UA-camrs just shit on whatever Marvel releases. I know, it's kind of irritating, like, could they have delivered a better plot and character development with better dialouge, ect. it's sooooo annoying, this is the most exciting mcu project since endgame and I hope it just gets better
The TVA breaks the entirety of Marvel’s world building. It also tells us that free will has literally never existed in the MCU before Loki. Never. Every single action a character took, every single word that they said was orchestrated by Kang. There are no longer any stakes in the MCU films before Loki because within the world of the MCU, it was impossible for the movies to turn out any different. Tell me, how is that good storytelling? Marvel fans are fucking ridiculous. Take their balls out of your mouth for once
I love the MCU, but this, this ended becoming one my favorite things overall in the entire franchise, and the cherries on top were Richard E. Grant and Jonathan Majors performances. I also had a feeling you would like it, because by now, I can tell your taste. The weirder it is, the more you like it, you're hatred for the grounded side, and you just liking the MCU, but not loving it enough if it just ended at Endgame, like others I've seen around. Still, the fact I'm getting more of this through out the MCU, plus other storylines is what keeps me going!
I love mcu too but their quality of production has dropped tremendously. Bad fight scenes. Decent cgi. No or bare minimum character development etc. Wandavision was good but falcon and winter soldier? Nah man I ain't watching that shit.
Kang has to be one of the best villain introductions. This man single handedly destroyed a multiverse, took over time and space, ended free will, controls ALL life, and defeat armies of himself aka gods, and calls himself the devil. And there are versions that he calls evil and scare him. That is terrifying and I can’t want to see his variates. The fact that the statue Kang didn’t even create Time Keepers and wants the TVA to know who their master is.
i love that we get a badass villain without losing his human side. We got told about his overwhelming power, but we also saw him sad, confused, confident, tired, angry, manipulative, genuine and powerless. We saw a bunch of sides of his character right on the introduction. That's honestly fantastic. Whoever wrote that episode had a moment of genius, no mcu villain is like that and that episode was only half the lenght of a movie
I want Jonathan Majors to have his own cameos in every movie, but half the time he's just in the background, out of focus, reacting to a scene. Then he's gone when the camera cuts back.
When you described self-love/self-respect as something Loki needs to find in the series if he ever wants to grow, that blew my mind. Now I see Sylvie/Loki romance to be the externalized way for the series to show self-love. If Loki EVER finds it then he will love Sylvie. cool.

The previous disney plus originals both felt like they were trying to achieve the opening of a new universe, but none of them really got there until Loki. Loki has an energy and plot that screams new possibilities.
I disagree falcone was definitely not trying to open a new universe. WandaVision felt like it was trying sometimes but it was only in one city also by the conclusions it was obvious it was about Wanda and set up to her being in Doctor strange. Now loki was all about time and littery makeing mutible universes.

@@cinemasketch9644 Wandavision started self contained, eventually it shifted over to her and her powers and what they really are, and ended with her clearly playing around in the multiverse to try and find her kids, we already know that's going to lead directly into Dr Strange. F&WS was the intro story for a new Captain America, gave us a taste of what the MCU's underworld is like, and introduced some shady dealings going on. Not exactly earth shattering, but better to establish that in a series where it can take a little time then rush it into a movie. Loki was when Marvel just tipped their whole hand and decided to explain the multiverse, and give us a nice taste of what it could bring to the table in a fun and engaging way...instead of just having Dr Strange do a monologue about it in his movie. Also, they feel self contained because they're character studies, Wanda's grief, Bucky's remorse, Sam feeling unworthy, and Loki's self loathing, it was all explored very well, and also functions as a primer for the next round of movies. It was all very pragmatic, well planned, and above all, still entertaining. They weren't trying to open a new unvierse, just open the next part of the one they've already established very well.
WandaVision was a self contained (quite literally) storyline for Wanda and Monica, that’s it, it’s a personal story and it’s fun but it’s more sad and emotional FATWS is the same thing but more grounded and fleshed out the characters we barely knew for themselves to be better versions This starts out the same self contained personal storylines, but takes it a step further and makes it external as much as it’s internal, this show will actually directly affect the universe and themselves So I seriously can’t and won’t say one is better than the others cuz each of them have something to say as well as have their own stories that affects the CHARACTERS

It’s not selfcest when the other version of you is completely genetically different. The black Loki or the alligator Loki probably weren’t born to Laufey. It’s safe to assume, Sylvie is genetically different and may just be a random frost giant Odin found and could be genetically different. Being a Loki has more to do with being the god of mischief and the role he plays.
Loki's a natural shapeshifter who is both gender fluid and racial fluid. I'm pretty sure every Loki started off as a frost giant son of Laufey who was then adopted by Odin, and from there they begin to diverge from each other.
@@lorraine4786 She might not have trained that ability to the same extent as the Loki we know, but she can do it. Why else does she look like an asgardian instead of a frost giant? Also she went from having black hair as a kid to blond hair as an adult. The first time we see Loki shapeshift is when he's a baby. He couldn't have consciously known what he was doing at the time which implies that his shapeshifting can happen involuntarily due to subconscious triggers. Whenever he's exposed to extreme cold he reverts back to his original frost giant form, when he was picked up by Odin and imprinted on him he subconsciously took on an Asgardian form, and I'm willing to bet that at various points in his life when he was feeling feminine he took on a female form even before he learned to shapeshift at will.
@@mirrorzone5224 mm, I'll be honest, I didnt remember that we'd seen loki shapeshift as a baby. As for why I thought she didnt look like a frost giant, I just figured that she simply wasnt a frost giant. I guess I just figured odin picked her up on a different planet to adopt her. And with the hair thing it actually went from brown to blond which actually isnt that weird. Its definately less common than when peoples hair darken as they age, but it is possible for a persons hair to naturally lighten as they age. But you do have a good point that she probably can shapeshift naturally, she just isnt as good at it and its harder for her probably?
@@mirrorzone5224 No that's the thing people are not grasping, every Loki is different, that's why they are called variants and not clones. There is a diffrence between alternate timelines and alternate universes. For example, The Tva Loki is genetically and physically identical to ragnarok loki but is a variant because he escaped from his destined path. Upto 2012 both of them have had the exact same experiences and situations, molding them into the characters they are today. But from that point in time they have had different experiences, making the Tva Loki a variant but still sharing the same genetic structure with ragnarok loki When we talk about alternate universes, we should keep in mind that all the Loki variants have a similar part to play in the universe but are never truly identical. The only thing they have in common is a temporal aura. Even the situations throughout there lives is different because that's how alternative universes work, there will always be a difference. Let's say in boastful Loki's universe, Laufey was a woman or in Sylvie's universe, Odin and Frigga never had a child and she was an only child. The situations are never really the same. And as you mentioned, even if Loki is a shapeshifter, he/she/they will never really take someone's genetic structure, he only changes his appearance.

@@mr.narwhal9034 I saw not a single insult in what Shane up there said. Could you point it out? I tend to agree with him actually, gaining more experience in dialogue would most likely alter one's opinion on Loki's dialogue being 'almost flawless'.
I think I’m the only one who didn’t read “romantic tension” into the Sylvia/Loki relationship dynamic, even though it’s clear that’s literally the angle they were going for. To me they played it as a insight on “self love”, seeing a reflection of themselves (or at least for Loki) and having a sincere appreciation for what they see. This embodiment of the love for themselves is in someone else, who is still them… it’s why Sylvie/Loki is nothing like “twincest” IMO even if it’s supposedly a “romance”.
I'll be honest, the two are nothing alike. Which makes sense, having your gender swapped would butterfly your personality a hell of a lot, but it does go against the whole self-love thing when I find it hard to really compare the two as similar people.
I really thought they were going to give the two of them more of a sibling dynamic, and I really wish they had. I was not a fan of the selfcest romance.
Also I love how you point out that slow pacing is OKAY if done correctly. I’d like to add that many aspects of storytelling become less boring when the audience has a reason to care about the characters involved.
Classic Loki is lowkey my favourite character in the MCU right now. This dude has like 5 minutes of Screentime but for some reason seeing his scream "Glorious Purpose!" is the most badass thing I've ever seen
The show is also just beautifully filmed. Yes a lot of the background were cgi, but the colors popped, the set designs were unique and it had such a *style* to it that I feel in love with. Also the acting, like the scene in ep 2 where Loki took in the gravity of knowing his future, hit so much harder because they stripped it of dialogue and held almost a minute on simply Hiddleston's acting and facial expressions. It felt like something that belonged in an indie passion project rather than a big budget marvel flick, which is a high compliment. It's probably the most experimental thing Marvel has put out in a long while. Its not the most risky, but its the most balls the wall - lets do something different. A few odd choices, but else a fantastic show
@@doomstadt2371 My main gripe with so called “comic book fans” is when they go to a movie expecting to see direct page to screen adaptations, and complain that it’s not the same. Then when the movies do things that are comic book accurate, like having Sam Wilson become Captain America, Jane Foster become Thor and other cool things from the comics, they act as if it’s never been pre-established and that it’s forced diversity.
@Gentleman Murk I’m not sure what you’re inferring, given that it has nothing to do with Marvel, but I don’t mind at all. I haven’t watched Titans as a matter of fact, but I see no problem in casting an actor of African descent to play Starfire. I mean Starfire isn’t even from Earth. As both a fan of the comics and the movies, I don’t see an issue in changing the race, gender, sexuality or what have you of a character as long as that version fits the basic foundation of the character. In the addition, characters who are defined in part by their culture already should not be changed if it’s part of their character. For instance, Black Panther. T’Challa is an African king and his entire character is based around African and black culture. You wouldn’t cast a white man to play Black Panther. Task Master being portrayed by a woman- that’s absolutely okay. MJ being African American, that’s absolutely okay. The ancient being white and British. That’s not okay. Overall though, I just think that comic book movies should have the freedom to adapt what they please and change things so long as they work and make stories better. Edit: in my opinion, forced diversity isn’t a default effect when they change the gender, sexuality or culture of a character. Forced diversity is only a problem when it is explicit that the producers don’t care about a character, rather just a stereotype. For instance, I don’t enjoy the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters because I felt that the movie wasn’t trying to separate itself from the previous movie and in the end, instead of creating something unique and independent, they just remade ghost Busters, but with a weak message regarding feminism that is more regressive than progressive. On the other hand, you have a movie like the Dark Tower. The dark tower movie isn’t good and it’s got so many problems and so much wasted potential. However, the casting of Idris Elba as Roland (who is a traditionally white character) works in my opinion because he’s a great actor and he brings a lot of depth and emotion in a movie that is devoid of anything. He wasn’t cast because he wasn’t white, he was cast because he fit the role of Roland perfectly. Force diversity only happens when a production only cares about woke points and not creating a character.
I think it's funny that people hated that he was gender fluid and freaked out over it when in Norse Mythology, it's literally the only thing he has, he eats apples to stay immortal and he can shapeshift into different animals and change his sex, being genderfluid is literally just his only power

This show's taken me through an interesting journey of realizing that a lot of people just love to hate Marvel only because it's popular The show does many new things, the character goes through an emotional journey, the climax wasn't a big cgi fight, and the plot is incredibly complex. But nope, some people will never be happy and call it trash just because
It’s interesting and new(ish), but the whole package of 6 episodes just isn’t structured well enough or tight enough; episodes 2 and 3 really hamstrung the experience for me… episodes 4 - 6 aren’t bad, but smaller choices in 6 were really really offputting; Majors was great

Its an attempt at a statement
This title perfectly describes how I feel. The other two shows just kinda felt meh, Loki sets up the greater MCU and basically explains what they’re doing with Spider-Man No Way Home because at first the rumors sounded convoluted but now it makes 100% sense.
Wandavision ended with actions scenes just for the sake of actions scenes and the final felt like a normal MCU movie. Loki ended with an almost 40 minutes dialogue full of character developpement. Yeah I kinda prefere Loki.
Kind of agree tbh. I enjoyed Wandavision a fair bit and F&WS was decent for the most part, but Loki had the most impact and even already knowing that multiverse stuff is gonna happen seeing what kicks it off was thrilling to watch.
Loki literally told Sylvie " A bit of both" when she said "you must of had your share of Princesses or perhaps a prince". Loki is bi, he literally said it.
In norse mythology loki turned himself in to a female horse got raped by a male horse give brith to an 8 legged horse then proceeded to give that 8 legged horse to Odin. Just letting you all know
The scene where Sylvie showed the TVA soldier lady her past life annoyed me and felt so disappointing. I wanted to see her past and they missed such a blatant opportunity for her character development.
@@MystiqMiu I agree that it is wasteful but it literally took like less than 10 seconds to explain her past life so I don't think it matters much in a 6 episode show where each episode is 40+ minutes long lmao
Yeah, we saw her going inside the mind of the hunter with dreadlock but somehow we didn't see Hunter B-15's past? Also, in episode 2, we saw her can go inside people when talked to Loki but in the next episodes, we never see her doing it again.
I really enjoyed this show and I’m hyped for the next season. Also, that scene of old Loki projecting Asguard was hella cool. It’s nice to see that even though Loki usually gets pooped on in his many face offs he has some truly godlike power buried within.
Honestly, I think I feel the exact same. To me, Wandavision is a 7 the entire show, while FATWS starts off kinda weak, at like a 4 or 5, but picks up so much in episode 4, then the show gets a lot better for me, up to like an 8. And Loki had me invested pretty much the whole show, but I didn't really think the judge was ever interesting, and they never seemed to do anything with the child Loki, he seemed kinda interesting, but he sorta disappeared after Loki and Sylvie went to go fight Alioth

@@austincarlson9270 If that's what you want to believe, then by all means :) It absolutely follows normal story telling. There's a reason rules of writing exist, because with those rules exceptional works have been released. Loki is decent, but fails in a lot of areas, one of which is that most of it is just setup for a future show or movie, instead of being its own contained story. In the future someone that's new to Loki cannot stop at the end of the show and be fulfilled. They just needed more episodes. As was the case for literally every Marvel show after WandaVision. WandaVision is the ONLY show that felt like a full story from a to z. Which they then fuck up with Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness but that's besides the point.
Wheel of time is amazing! So glad you like it! Michael Kramer and Kate Redding are great readers too for the audible version. There’s also a tv show based on the books coming out later this year
Some of the scenes that stick out the most to me from the show were the long, extended talking scenes. Sure, it might not be as typically "exciting" as an action scene or something, but there's something to be said for just watching two characters talk to each other as we learn more about them
I'm really excited with how they're going to play Kang the Conqueror into the MCU story line for Thor, The Guardians, the Eternals, and Doctor Strange. Now that Arishem has been unleashed and the Sovereign's Adam Warlock is about to appear, I can see these characters becoming Phase 4's recurring villains.
Regarding Loki's sexuality, Sylvie at one point asks him if he's a chick magnet back on his Asgard before pausing for a moment and teasingly asking if he was a dude magnet instead, and Loki's response is "A little of both, actually."
Which I absolutely loved because Marvel didn't FORCE it, or put it in maximum font with big balloons around it. It was a very quick and subtle answer, then instantly moved on from it. That's how you are suppose to do it. Not some big dumb climatic scene, where all women stop fighting their enemies in the midst of a large scale battle to join together, and form a super duper feminist battalion
Some people will complain about "too much talking" in movies and TV, but listen to Joe Rogan talk about chimpanzee's stoned out of his mind for 3 hours.
Well, that’s what they’ve signed up for when they click on a podcast. Movies and TV sell themselves as being visual mediums. Joe Rogan isn’t trying to tell a grand story in an interconnected universe, he’s trying to run his mouth for a few hours and upload it online for people to watch. The objectives and expectations are completely different.
The only thing that disappointed me was how they made the DB Cooper thing a side note in the first episode I love true crime story's and seeing that freaking loki would have been involved in one of the biggest unsolved mysterys in fbi history would have been so cool to see
but its like so not important, Loki is literally a god, the scale wouldn't make sense, some random dude jumps out of a plane, like who cares, Loki is literally a Demi-god who can travel through space on a fucking rainbow bridge
I also want to see President Loki storyline, he seems like an interesting character but got wasted on one episode . I thought it would be the main Loki who ends up as the president in somewhere else but nope.

Mobius was EASILY my favorite character. He felt so real and had a good sense of humor while still trying to get his job done. He has the audience point of view of Loki in this timeline trying to break through to who Loki really is. I can’t wait for him to get back next season
Hard agree, and Owen Wilson gives him so much humanity. I love his character and I love that he of all people was this Loki's first real friend.

@@coolterra8491 Mobius' "death" hit me wayyy harder than Loki's oh my god
I feel like he works because he was put with Loki. Mobius only told the truth, or at least what he thought was the truth, at the beginning of the season. Loki was a lying, scheming, rascal who betrayed him at every turn. Then, at the end, Loki has become the one telling the truth and the one looking out for others while Mobius is using deceit and trickery to beat the TVA. The characters, being total opposites, were able to build off of each other through the season and you almost don’t notice because it happens so naturally.

I don't think I've seen Majors before, but finished this series last night and will be hunting down his other work. Guy fucking explodes charisma

Slow =/= Boring
So many writers are afraid of slowing their stories down when some stories REALLY need more development.
The previous disney plus originals both felt like they were trying to achieve the opening of a new universe, but none of them really got there until Loki. Loki has an energy and plot that screams new possibilities.
I mean.... did they tho? Wandavision was pretty self contained. And FATWS really just showed us stuff we've seen already
I disagree falcone was definitely not trying to open a new universe. WandaVision felt like it was trying sometimes but it was only in one city also by the conclusions it was obvious it was about Wanda and set up to her being in Doctor strange. Now loki was all about time and littery makeing mutible universes.
Although they weren’t as strong as Loki, I think we needed a pallet cleanser following the bonker events of Infinity War and Endgame. If phase four opened up with Loki, it would simultaneously be a home run and it would destroy what was left of the Internet after Endgame.
WandaVision was a self contained (quite literally) storyline for Wanda and Monica, that’s it, it’s a personal story and it’s fun but it’s more sad and emotional
FATWS is the same thing but more grounded and fleshed out the characters we barely knew for themselves to be better versions
This starts out the same self contained personal storylines, but takes it a step further and makes it external as much as it’s internal, this show will actually directly affect the universe and themselves

Oh no
Loki Drinking Game: Take a shot every time someone says "TemPad"
Loki Drinking Game: Take a shot every time someone says ”Loki”
Or when Loki flips his hair
Or says "variant"
It’s not selfcest when the other version of you is completely genetically different. The black Loki or the alligator Loki probably weren’t born to Laufey. It’s safe to assume, Sylvie is genetically different and may just be a random frost giant Odin found and could be genetically different. Being a Loki has more to do with being the god of mischief and the role he plays.
Loki's a natural shapeshifter who is both gender fluid and racial fluid. I'm pretty sure every Loki started off as a frost giant son of Laufey who was then adopted by Odin, and from there they begin to diverge from each other.
@@mirrorzone5224 I dont think thats fully canon in the mcu because they seemed to make it pretty clear that sylvee can not shapeshift
But from that point in time they have had different experiences, making the Tva Loki a variant but still sharing the same genetic structure with ragnarok loki
When we talk about alternate universes, we should keep in mind that all the Loki variants have a similar part to play in the universe but are never truly identical.
The dialogue in this series is almost flawless, that time in the table when Loki and Mobius are talking about the meaning of life, destiny, free will and jet skis got me hooked instantly
You really need to watch more stuff if you thought this dialogue is flawless. The dialogue is my main gripe with the last two MCU shows.

Furthest thing from flawless
I think I’m the only one who didn’t read “romantic tension” into the Sylvia/Loki relationship dynamic, even though it’s clear that’s literally the angle they were going for. To me they played it as a insight on “self love”, seeing a reflection of themselves (or at least for Loki) and having a sincere appreciation for what they see. This embodiment of the love for themselves is in someone else, who is still them… it’s why Sylvie/Loki is nothing like “twincest” IMO even if it’s supposedly a “romance”.
I saw them more as half-brothers talking about life, which made the evolution of the relationship kinda weird
@@cractor6307 same i saw them as chaotic siblings vibe so it was really weird to see the progression of romance. i kept waiting for the sike. and yet.

A few odd choices, but else a fantastic show
People complain that these shows are largely made up of long, philosophical, conversations, but I LOVE that shit! I was absolutely riveted
YES I love more character development and work more than action and just seeing how the characters interact makes it amazing
You can say it, it's people who've never opened a comic book in their entire life. They just show up to the movies for the action.
Like have you not seen enough of cgi super hero fights? I love character development for underdeveloped characters

On Loki's TVA file, he is marked as gender fluid. Admittedly it's more of a "we can cut it out in China" kind of representation, but hey!

This show's taken me through an interesting journey of realizing that a lot of people just love to hate Marvel only because it's popular
The show does many new things, the character goes through an emotional journey, the climax wasn't a big cgi fight, and the plot is incredibly complex. But nope, some people will never be happy and call it trash just because
Yeah I’ve noticed this too and it’s really sad that they can’t appreciate such fun and interesting content.

Some people didn’t like the aesthetic of the TVA but I really loved it. The orange, brown and tan really work for a place like the TVA
The scene where Sylvie showed the TVA soldier lady her past life annoyed me and felt so disappointing. I wanted to see her past and they missed such a blatant opportunity for her character development.
Showing Renslayer's past life just to explain a pen that was completely ignored felt wasteful as well..
Her character wasn’t important to the overall story so why would she need character development
@@MystiqMiu I agree that it is wasteful but it literally took like less than 10 seconds to explain her past life so I don't think it matters much in a 6 episode show where each episode is 40+ minutes long lmao

For me is Wandavision:9/10,TFATWS:9.5/10,Loki 9.7/10 and it’s IMO
Honestly, I think I feel the exact same. To me, Wandavision is a 7 the entire show, while FATWS starts off kinda weak, at like a 4 or 5, but picks up so much in episode 4, then the show gets a lot better for me, up to like an 8. And Loki had me invested pretty much the whole show, but I didn't really think the judge was ever interesting, and they never seemed to do anything with the child Loki, he seemed kinda interesting, but he sorta disappeared after Loki and Sylvie went to go fight Alioth
For me:
WandaVision: 9
FATWS: 7
Loki: 8

It absolutely follows normal story telling. The main arc for Loki is literally the villain of a previous story becoming an anti-hero, learning to put others in front of his own desires.
Again, it's writing 101.
