Amazing. Thanks truly a lot for your channel and your videos. I watch every night. I'm italian guy 34years old struggling hard with heroin Addiction. Lot of trauma and emotional isolaton inside me, since I was a little beautiful boy. Monday morning I have an appointment to go into rehab. Very close to where I live here in Italy so thats good I guess. I'm ready to change my life but I'm very aware I need help, I just cant do it on my own. I'm all by myself. But I'm confident. Hope they let me in into rehab as soon as they can. Thanks again for your videos, I'm also reading The Myth of Normal just started it but already so good❤

Best regards full of love and support from Germany for you beautiful soul
I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with cptsd. Spent my whole life fighting cptsd. I suffered severe anxiety and mental disorder. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
I really appreciate you sharing your story. It takes a lot of courage to open up about such personal experiences, and I'm so glad to hear about your progress!
I'm so very happy for you, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Germany don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
YES very sure of Predroshrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, BPD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Where do I reach this dude? If possible can I find him on Google
The desire to fit in, to be accepted and liked at the expense of one's true identity is a setup for depression and anxiety.
I love that ladies reaction when she poses the open mindedness question and gets the response. She took it perfectly, took it away for analysis and said she would work on herself.....that's class. Well done that lady for a wonderful self analysing response.
Yes… except what is she doing counseling others when she’s not fully equipped❓🤷🏻
@@andrewmair7371 Its the self analysis and learning that impresses me in anyone and she took that so well. ;-) None of us are perfect but we can strive to be near it.
@@andrewmair7371no one is fully equipped, it’s a constant process and the ability to self reflect is a huge part of being a therapist. Open mindedness is also a personality trait so that plays a part.
Anxiety is taught to us. As small children, when traumatized, abused and neglected, we dont understand why it is happening to us. We cant find a pattern or reason for our pain. We are made to hurt when are good as well as bad. When you cant detect where and when the next hurt is coming from you end on alert all of the time. You lesrn to remain constantly wary for the next bad thing.
The other affect of not understanding why it is happening to us is depression. We are taught that we are the bad ones. Not our abusers. We learn to never be happy because something always happens that ruins it and gives us pain.
Depeession and anxiety are not genetic. They are almost universally taught by life and our caregivers.
Show me an anxious person, a depressed person, a drug addict and I'll show you someone who was traumatized, neglected and abused as a small child.
Thank you for sharing such an insightful and profound reflection. Your words resonated deeply, emphasizing the long-term impact of trauma on our lives. True, the roots of anxiety and depression frequently trace back to our early experiences, which shape our perception of the world. Your insights into how we learn these emotions rather than being born with them brought light on the importance of understanding and compassion. Breaking the cycle of pain necessitates identifying the source and figuring out how to heal. Your willingness to discuss these difficult topics is very valuable. Remember that you are not alone on this journey, and your bravery in sharing helps many people gain a better understanding. I wish you courage and healing.💕💖🙏
Totally agree
100% Correct and I am proof of your insight
Another cause is brain damage from things like meningoencephalitis, which can, and did to my son, damaging his CNS, caused fearfulness and impulsivity, damage to the frontal lobe or side lobes, and extremely important: mold and Lyme infections which are neuropsychiatric disorders manifesting in feeling unsafe, paranoia, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, irritability in its worst form: Lyme rage!
I’m sure Mr Gabe would agree!
Yeah, so much for "caregivers" who are supposed to care and nurture us but end up giving us anxiety and depression instead. Society as a whole acts like a parent can never do any wrong, and just like that the trauma goes on for generation after generation.
I have been a full-time therapist for 27 years. Anxiety and depression are two different things - which is why they have different names. Depression is almost always caused by loss, failure, shattered dreams, disillusion or a combination. Acute anxiety is normal, Chronic anxiety is caused by unremitting stress, or more likely, obsessive, repeated thoughts such as worrying or rationalising. If you think anxious thoughts too often, they begin to occur automatically and an anxiety state can begin. The cure is to find a way of ignoring those thoughts and learn to cope better with problems, fear and stress.
The cure for depression is acceptance, gratitude, nature, physical exertion and loving, non directive, support. Sympathy is worth much more than just empathy. Writing out your thoughts and/or story can also help with depression, loss and heartbreak. Acceptance is key. Any creative activity, if possible, like art, poetry or music will help - sometimes a new type is the only one that may appeal.
You may be giving ppl false hope. There is NO cure for depression. Like cancer, it can be in remission. And yes, I’m a big fan of acceptance.
@@robynhope219Of course, there's a cure for depression; I got over a major one. First, you need to identify the root and the trigger of the illness, and then develop a personalized approach to address those underlying issues. Self-knowledge is crucial.
It seems you mean well, but that’s just not right. The things you list only sometimes work for people with mild or moderate symptoms. Giving someone the skills to cope with a lifelong disability is not a cure. And if your leg were badly broken, and I handed you a cane and told you that the cure is acceptance, you would sue me on the way to the orthopedist. Be better.
@gainsbourg66, Did you manage to cure your depression by yourself or get medicine?
Myself, I couldn't cope with it alone and decided to get the help of a psychiatrist and it's 9 years now, Im getting medicine. I don't know how easy it is to cure depression alone.
I wish whoever is suffering from depression, to get help and find themselves in a better situation.
Happy holidays to everyone.
Yeah, all those things you mention help, but it is not a cure. I feel much better since I started an SSRI five yrs ago, but don't consider myself cured.
Why do I shed a tear every time I watch his videos. It hits hard.
I completely get your feelings. His videos have a special way of reaching out to our hearts. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.🙏❤️
I happened upon your videos I suppose by accident. I have been struggling a lot of my life and I think my problem is that I am not smart enough to understand just exactly the ideas and answers that you give to people. I’m in my 70’s and feel in a way I could just get along with a very simple life with a dog. I never had a dog until I was in my 50’s and I realized how much I had been missing all my life. She was the sweetest and gave me such unconditional love and support. I never truly felt that before. What a feeling!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts and feelings with us. I want you to know that you are not alone in how you are feeling. Life may be a lot complicated, and it's easy to become confused by the wide range of information and ideas available. Knowing about your special attachment with your dog in your 50s is very wonderful. One of the most wonderful and fulfilling aspects of life is the unconditional love and support our furry pets bring. It's a great way to find contentment to treasure those moments of connection and simplicity.Age is just a number, and the wisdom you've gained over the years is priceless in and of itself. If you ever have questions or want to explore new ideas, keep in mind that there is no such thing as "not smart enough." Learning is a lifetime adventure, and there is no need to know everything. We all follow our own paths, and what counts most is that we find happiness and peacefulness in the things that actually resonate with us.
Your comment touched our hearts, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your story. Continue to enjoy the simple pleasures, and know that your experiences and insights are valuable to us all. Wishing you continued happiness with your pet and in every aspect of your life.💫💕🙏✨

An observation from someone who is evolving from childhood developmental disarray. My first gut reaction when listening and watching Dr. Mate was, Comfort and trust. Being healed and conscious yourself is the starting point for helping others to grow. Even then people are at different stages of being capable of opening themselves for change, depending in your capacities but also timing, the depth of the trauma, the interaction, the power of environment, the necessity for change etc. Dont get fooled by only focusing in your own level of growth 😊
I'm going to try and be my true self in every aspect of my life no matter how scary it gets, the scarier part is wearing a mask all your life and not knowing who you trully are...
I admire your bravery and commitment to be your true self in the face of difficulties. The path to self-discovery is never easy, but it is very rewarding. You've already taken an important step by acknowledging the value of being authentic to yourself. Remember that you are not alone on this journey, and there is a whole community here to support you. Keep shining as your authentic self, and you will inspire others to do the same✨💖🙏
That's the society we live in. As I learned decades ago. It's a mask or total ostracization. I know I'll never find friendship or love but at least I won't be totally alone. 😢
Always, always, always helps me, your words, your unique understandings and articulations. So thankful for you and what you do. Thank you for helping us not only be human but also for helping us to add the 'kind'; for ourselves and so also for others. Much gratitude.

Not even sure I need or could benefit from therapy but if I could, I'd like it to be with someone like Nikki. Her openness and sense of humor would be of great benefit to anyone needing therapy. I'm mining my mind trying to see if I have any addictions that I need help with. All the best to you Nikki! You have a great future in front of you.
I dunno, it's a big concern that, as a trained counsellor, she failed to identify how she was affecting the counselling process with her own emotional reaction. She could be doing harm to some of the closed minded people who are likely the ones most in need of help.
@@jeremylindemann5117 It might have been an issue for her in the past but what I took from her response is that she 'got it' and wanted to make a change. Her openness was apparent and abundant.
Agreed. Also the way he questions her is very leading. She's likely nervous asking the question in the first place, and he basically out of the blue humiliates her. She handles it very well all things considered
"Depression is the inability to construct a future." Rollo May
I haven't found a more precise definition so far and I'm 50, meaning I've been searching for definitions for a long time.
Very well said.
I was brought up in a Catholic household at a time when the Church was obsessed with sin! The outcome of this and my inability to balance minor transgressions of the mind with what the Church described as ultra serious. The net result was a constant state of anxiety and a feeling of utter worthlessness. Still affects me to this day. The Church has a lot to answer for. Hence my long since not being a practising Catholic.

I’ve never was alone as a kid. My parents were always with me, al least one of them, or my aunts. Then why I have anxiety and depresión and pánico attacks for the last 11 years?
Hi there! I'm really sorry to hear that you've been going through such a tough time. It's not uncommon for people to experience anxiety and depression, even when they had support growing up. Sometimes, these feelings can be caused by various factors, and it's important to reach out for help. You're not alone in this, and there are people who care about you. Consider talking to a friend, family member, or a mental health professional. They can offer support and guidance to help you through this challenging journey. Take care❤️💖🙏

What if the parents in life ended up working out their things but absolutely recognize that they're arguing hurt their children. What can they do with the damage they caused?
"Anxiety" is the word we use to describe how we FELL when our stress response is triggered and our "toxic culture" causes massive over stimulation of our stress response, this depletes our brain's supplies of the "feel-good" brain chemicals dopamine, serotonin, endorphins, etc., and we experience "depression", which is why physicians are prescribing ever more anti-depressants, as they restore (temporarily) these same chemicals. Questions? Stress R Us
thank you
Very true Im often stressed with noise in where i live. I may have found resiliance but its not natural living like this. I think i need to accept support because my caveman mind thinks i should be able to go and live in a cave...thats maybe one option
Lots of good research on noise stress and its impact (negative) on health. I live in Marietta, OH, and, sadly, the main river road runs right through the center of town, which explains why so many folks seem to be yelling at one another, even when in a quiet room. So many have damaged hearing. Just Google "noise and heart disease" to scare the crap out of you and support your move to a quieter place. I did this and love my little QUIET apt. across from Mound Cemetery. Never rowdy at night or day, but I have to use ear plugs whenever I walk because of the loud vehicles and the clatter of the brick streets. Good Luck!@@mindfulmomentswithColm
I take an SSRI the last five yrs...asked for the prescription...and am doing well. Antidepressants are a life saver for some. It also offers neuro protection which I'm grateful for bc I'm a senior.
@@mindfulmomentswithColmHi. Maybe not a cave, but maybe some place away from all that noise. Its great leaving a stressful place. If you are phisically able to live by your own or even with your fammily or friends în some countryside place..do it. Forgive what you have to forgive. Do breath work, listen to calm music, watch old comedies and establish a relationship with God. I know, I know...we dont believe I Him anymore ..but He is real. And He does love us. We had to be put here to realise what we are missing. With time we just became meaner because we lost our connection with Him . We invented other gods that did no good to us and we became worse for they were not showing us the real way. But He loves us and you can seek Him right now and do what He wants us to do. You will fall, but you can come back up. No matter what happens, dont forget He is there with you. Focus on that and know our Lord Jesus is the way. I am telling you this from experience. I searched alot only to find out that He îs what He says He is. I searched through many cultures and many ways and I know I telling you the truth. Wishing you all the best. And one more thing, we dont have that much time, so call Him now if you havent. What is în front of us all its no joke and He is the way to life, He has always been the only way.
When I left home to go to Uni my housemates were puzzled that I had never learned to play games like Monopoly or Drafts or Cards etc. This was when I began to see the extreme neglect I'd suffered as a child. As the youngest of 4 children nobody had ever read me a bed time story, played games with me, taught me to tie my shoe laces or brush my teeth ! I'd always felt like a ghost in my own life - unseen, unheard except when scolded, criticised or ridiculed for any assertion of my own needs. Many of us suffer life long because of the neglect and or abuse we were subjected to as children. You can alleviate the symptoms, learn to function better but the lack of love at this crucial stage in development never fully resolves.
Thank you for sharing your story with us. It takes a lot of courage to open up about the neglect and abuse we may have faced as children. Remember, it's never too late to seek healing and find a supportive community that will love and value you for who you are. bless you and take care 💖🙏

I had severe depression but went to a Chinese doctor. She traced it to five foods I was eating and the depression left. I went to a Colombian doctor and told him I couldn't eat five foods. He said I needed antibiotics to kill bad gut bacteria. I refused, as antibiotics can kill good bacteria too and effect mood. Years later, I took a bucket load of antibiotics for a nasty sinus infection. The Colombian was right. I can now eat whatever I want and have been depression-free for years. No psychological or metaphysical mumbo-jumbo needed.

How is it that questions come so loudly and wisdom comes in whispers?
One criticism I have of UA-cam is they don't normalize their volume. That makes it difficult for us to have problems hearing, especially listening early in the morning when the rest of the family is asleep.
I can't tell you how many times I've gotten in trouble for what I listen to because it woke someone up. When really I'm just asking for it to wake me up.
While it is true that YT doesn't normalize the volume across all contents, the video's volume discrepancy can actually be controlled by the video producer before the upload. I've noticed it but it didn't cross my mind to make it known. Thanks for writing this.
@yourinnerchildmatters: Kindly take note for future videos. Love your channel. Thank you.

I am well over fifty plus and I myself have had a extremely bad childhood days am married for the last twenty eight plus years and have had a rough extreme dicy relationships issues with my wife and my kids because of my violence nature my angriness stress anxiety and depression my personal experience and advise to all of the people those who r like me or have issues something like these is to first accept that we have all these things inside us, then work on these. Most of the people actually don't accept only that they are having these issues and that's where the maximum problem lies within,
Thank you for taking the time to share your deeply personal journey and wisdom. Your openness is admirable. Recognizing our inner challenges and working for improvement takes huge courage. Your message of self-acceptance and development is invaluable. 💪💙

2 siblings within a year & a half apart, with the same parents, environment, upbringing, etc . How do you explain one having chronic depression, one doesn’t?
It's interesting how different individuals can have such unique experiences and challenges, even within the same family. Mental health is complex and can be influenced by various factors beyond just genetics and upbringing. It's important to remember that everyone's journey is different, and we should offer support and understanding to those dealing with mental health issues.

I have to disagree with the claim that the term "depression" refers to "pushing down" emotions, as in repressing them. "Depression" refers to persistent low mood. There's an argument to be made that repression of painful feelings and memories can contribute to depression, but that's a different issue.
Depression is a term that describes the cycle of the multiple aspects of neurological imbalances and responses that your mind body and soul, withhold and protect vulnerable parts that need expression it has nowhere to go so its pushed down causing imbalance and exhaustion, because all the built up energy has no release so it implodes therefore other parts of you work overdrive to expelle the unfamiliar energy and dont like it either provoking anxiety as a respose to avoid it reoccuring all this happening inside as you live day to day, causes low moods and crash
Depression the word it self is the answer to the problem (deep rest )
Is there a full episode of this?
Thank u.
Thank you for taking the time to comment! Your support means a lot to me!
Which book should I read, when I'm dealing with depression, anxiety and lack of emotions, low self-esteem ?
Which book of Gabor is best for this ?
I recommend reading his book:
📚When the Body Says No: amzn.to/3VGyDLD
This book addresses the mind-body connection, looking at how our emotional experiences might affect our physical health.
📚In the Realm of Hungry Ghosts: amzn.to/3fXD1qn,
can help readers gain a better understanding of emotional distress and its relationship to various types of addiction.
📚The Myth of Normal: amzn.to/3UHiUeQ

I would love to know Gabor’s opinion on psychopaths..:they seem not to get depressed or anxious. Does he link it to trauma?
This is sooooo goood!
thank you 💕🙏
What does it mean by "play?"
50 generations , we all are related!
What amazes me is that I grew up in a large family with very limited resources, where everyone was in survival mode, looking for alternatives to improve life, and none of us had time to suffer depression. Just wondering...
It's interesting how your upbringing formed your resilience and focus on practical solutions. The modern world presents new problems, and mental health is an important factor. It's important to recognize that everyone's experiences differs and while some may not have had the time to feel depression, others encounter different difficulties. Let us continue help one another on our individual journeys.🌟

Depression brings us into parasympathetic mode whereas anxiety brings us into sympathetic. If you live already in the present you may have nalanced nervous system thats healthy. A healthy amount of stress is called allostatic load it can make us stronger and resiliant. Perhaps you found ways to rest and digest that effectively bypass depression by listening to your needs? Perhaps you stay in fight or flight and support each other as a family?

Woah!!! 🔥

I'm not an educated psychologist, I'm an accountant by trade, but a foundation in a life with God and belief in Jesus is a great help in living this life. Life has potholes, don't become one.
Anxiety is all in the mind, simple as that.
thanks💕
Warning!!! Do not watch at the gym 😭😭😭 I’m bawling like a baby
Good content, no need for the clips of actors, in fact they distract and irritate me.
Love the jui jitsu moment
wow that question about open mindedness then turned on its head and realising that it was the judgement of the questioner that was the issue not the person for whom she judged to be "closed minded".
We do this all the time our judgements based often on how we wish to see ourselves or define ourselves but make us see "ther other"as the problem and not our own unacknowledged feelings.
Absolutely, our impressions frequently tell more about ourselves than the individuals we are criticizing. Self-reflection is necessary for fostering open-mindedness and understanding. Thank you for sharing this valuable viewpoint! 🌟
We also need to talk about phone addiction and how that is having a impact on society
Weak people become addicted 😢
Behind every depressed person is a Narcissist parent who has no connection or love or concern or affection towards the child except only towards themselves all the time. No one is born depressed, it is solely an unhappy uncared for parent or parents.
Thus you need to do a Forest Gump on your parents, both of them, because they are both sick, and find a community or Church where you are accepted and loved unconditionally.
Study it carefully.

I still have no idea how to overcome both
It's completely normal to feel that way! Sometimes tackling challenges step by step can help you find your way through. Keep pushing forward!
The origins are so many that they cannot be expressed scientifically. Philosophically explaining thus one must be a true metaphysician. However, humans are number one for anxiety and depression.

Circumstances can create depression

Dr. Gabor would be able to help me like that guy in horse whisperer?
What he wont tell you is that when the heart, brain, and gut axis is disrupted, many physical and mental ills can arise: ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, Parkinson's, and memory loss. Gabor wont tell you that bc not taught in med school. For more info, pls read Three Brains..by Karen Jensen, ND.
I love how he debunked the fact mental illness isn't always genetic. So much of this video goes against what medical mental health professionals are taught and they're the ones that are expected to fix you? This thing about depression being a chemical imbalance is BS!
Thank you so much for taking the time watching the video and for sharing your insights! ✨💖🙏
How can someone reverse the affects if they Ferberized a baby who may get anxiety from time to time as a 20 year old later in life? Also , if otherwise a loving , caring , secure attachment to the parent could later anxieties be unrelated to the early “ let them sooth themselves sometimes “ approach?
I understand your concern, and it's important to remember that anxiety in adulthood can be influenced by a variety of things, including early parenting approaches. It's also important to note that a loving and caring bond to parents can play an important part in shaping a person's emotional well-being. Many factors contribute to anxiety, making it difficult to reverse the effects of Ferberizing or any specific parenting technique in adulthood. Seeking help from a mental health professional can be very helpful if someone is experiencing anxiety. They can help in exploring the underlying reasons of anxiety and developing appropriate coping methods, regardless of previous experiences.
It is never too late to improve one's personal well-being and emotional health, and getting professional help is a great step toward a better and healthier life.🙏✨💖🥰
Unlike most men, immediately denied brest feeding sent directly to sexual mutilation (Circumcision) its only surprising the world isn't full of mad dog killers 😢
All my life.ive been denied love and any kind of secure attachment to parental units. 😮
Im all for healing our trauma but this business of blaming our parents for all our brokenness needs to stop we have gone too far those folks only wanted the best for us we need to take responsibility for the drugs we're taking the booze we are abusing and the laziness we have that's why we're broke I am healing now when I accepted that I and I alone are to blame for my brokenness and blaming other people and expecting a sorry is gonna make me a bitter person life is way too short I want to live my best life now not tomorrow but today
I appreciate your perspective on taking responsibility for our own actions and not dwelling on blame. It's empowering to realize that we have the power to shape our own lives. Let's focus on healing, growth, and living our best lives. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and virtual hugs,💖🌻🌹💕🤗

When we identify with indigenous peoples we separate ourselves from one another and it tends to become political and racial and not a spiritual transformation

I appreciate the inner child work and understand how it can release trauma. I have a question though - how do you heal the trauma you may be carrying through previous lifetimes? How does inner child work address that?
Thank you for your thoughtful question! Inner child work primarily focuses on healing and nurturing your present lifetime's wounded aspects. When it comes to healing trauma from earlier lifetimes, though, the approach may differ.
While inner child work does not directly address past life trauma, some feel that unresolved difficulties from before lives could come back as inner child wounds in this lifetime. In this scenario, the two approaches can be complementary. Many spiritual and therapeutic approaches are often explored in order to clearly deal with trauma from before lives. Past life regression therapy, meditation, energy healing, and studying your own spiritual beliefs can all be used to enter into this aspect of healing. It's important to note that ideas on past lives and their impact differ greatly, so finding an approach that resonates with you is key.
The ultimate goal is to locate therapeutic modalities that match with your personal values and resonate with your inner journey. Integrating several modalities, such as inner child work and understanding past life trauma, can result in a comprehensive road to healing and growth. Remember that healing is a deeply personal process, so take your time to discover what feels best for you.🌱💫 💖
Depending on the trauma. Some deep scars never can be exised you just learn to live with them and carry on. *The White Man's burden IME 😢
