Tayler Scott has been one of our best arms out of the bullpen. Change my mind.
I'm SO excited to see Jake Bloss debut tomorrow. TOUGH task to debut against one of the best teams in the game, but this kid has answered the call every step of the way, and with each promotion from Rookie to A to A+ to AA he got BETTER. Not just as good, not took some time to get acclimated, no....he dominated even MORE. 1.61 ERA in AA this year. So excited to see what he can bring.
That's a huge jump from AA to the bigs. The only other player I can remember making that jump and having major success was Altuve. If he can replicate that history....be the Bloss.
@markkar4663 Paul Skenes is doing it right now. Now...obviously I'm not saying Bloss is Paul Skenes, but there's a real time example of it happening.
Edit: Skenes pitched AAA this year. So I guess that point is nulled.
@@markkar4663 Luis Garcia hadn't pitched above A ball before he debuted in 2020 and has been a really solid, even good starter. Struggles last year were obviously a symptom of pitching in the WBC instead of ST and then needed TJ
@@imnotcreativeenoughh absolutely, at this point in the season why not bring him up and see what you've got. Thinking about it, didn't Luis Garcia make that jump? I wanna say he skipped AA, but I'm not positive.

The White Sox feature two catchers in the Astros' 2022 World Series-winning roster. (He and Kory Lee, who was added to the roster for the deciding 6th game when Yuli Gurreal went down with injury and Baker decided to DH Vazquez, after spending the last two months of the season in the minor league.

He’s got to be working on pitch recognition and batters eye but dang he has been chasing sliders waaaay off the plate for the past two years. I hope he figures it out.

And man....Arrighetti just cant catch a break this year. He got shafted pitching on short rest last time out and got rocked, and every time he pitches well this year, something stupid happens that makes his line much worse than it shouldve been. Espada has sent him out twice that i remember for a 7th inning when his pitch count was already above 90 and he had finally gotten great starts and then gives up a couple runs in that 7th inning, and now this 5th inning, pitching a shutout, a bad luck pop up that ran away from Altuve turns in to a 3 run inning. Just sucks man.
Peña is a strikeout machine.

I want to say "oh should've swept them", and yes....they should have. BUT. They've won 4 of their last 5 series and went 9-6 on this stretch. That doesn't sound that impressive, but that's a .600 win%. Only 5 teams in MLB rn have above a .600 win%. So yes, that's actually pretty good. If they win 60% of their remaining games, they finish with 87 wins. That might not be enough to make the playoffs, but couldn't you imagine them winning 5 or so more games than that? They've still got a chance everyone. Seattle lost today. You're 8 games back in the division in 2nd place, and 6 games back of the Wild Card.
Its gonna be a tough road. And they can NOT afford to piss away very many, if any, games the way they have to this point. But the offense is scoring "enough" and the bullpen has quietly been getting better and better. Get Tucker back, Verlander back, LMJ, Garcia...make a trade or two at the deadline....its still there.

Great game glad the guys never gave up and got the win! I've said before and I say it again there are not easy games in baseball this game is soo unpredictable.. just when everyone thought it was gonna be a easy series them stros found themselves having a hard time getting that W..
