I have a 2005 Ford excursion 6.0 w. 616,000 miles it has the original transmission. It's still running strong.
I own a 2000 Ford Excursion Limited with the 7.3L turbo diesel I bought it 2 years ago with 192,292 and now it has 237,500 and I absolutely love it
I had my truck since 2003 and it was my very first new car. I still have it and I have 257K miles and it still runs, V10
I have a 2003 limited v10 model and absolutely love it. Has about 212,000 miles on it and runs as smooth as ever
I have an Eddie Bauer 03 I bought new with V10, has 228K on it. Great vehicle
I just bought a 2000 V10 4wd XLT with 123k. Very happy with my purchase
How has it treated you? Any major maintenance costs or issues?
Will last forever
@@blown70charger99bruh I had the cleanest 06 v10 f250 I got rid of cause I wanted a diesel bad. Horrible choice the v10 is so damn reliable. The issue with those v10s are they are legit gas guzzlers
I have 2 Excursions both have the V10 . 01 is a twd and the 03 is 4wd with a 6 in. Lift and love both of them
I've owned one since 2016, I should have bought it in 2003 when I was looking at them. The V10 model is like therapy, no sense being in a hurry because that just doesn't happen. My newest is a 6.0 bullet proof and tuned 05 EB, about to turn 99,000 miles. It is a gem.
Even though all my kids are grown and married, now I’m building an excursion to carry my grand kids. Lots of engine upgrades, updated looks on the body. One thing that I have consider after hearing about a story where the spare burst even thought it was new but had a date code of the 2000s, I will put a new tire on that wheel. Can’t beat having to go in debt $80,000-$150,000. Keep them beasts on the road! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love it! Cannot beat an Excursion. I look forward to seeing your build once its complete.
The wife and I parked our 03 in 2013 when the kids had all left home just used it to pull the camp trailer.now with all the grandkids it is on the road every weekend doing what it does best.
KING OF SUV’S! 😎🇺🇸
I've had my V10 Limited for 9 years, several trips back and forth to Kentucky from Ogden Utah, always averages 14 mpg at freeway speed, massive range potential. Just recently I purchased a 1999 Crown Vic for the engine and the dealer threw in a 1999 Excursion as a benny. I have too many cars.
I’ve had my 2002 7.3L since 2010. Bought it with 250,000kms from the original owner, and now it has 370,000kms on it and it’s been a tank with no major problems.
Original HPOP, injectors.
Glow plugs have been replaced, I upgraded my suspension to F350 leafs front and back, Bilstein shocks, Hellwig rear sway bar, ELC coolant with filter, 20” King Ranch OEM wheels with 2” spacers. Everything else is stock. Love the suv, drives perfect.
Everywhere I go people are asking if I would sell it lol.
How does the f350 leaf feel? Is it an upgrade?
@@adam874 it rides slightly stiffer, but it also helps to keep it more stable on the highway. I like the ride. The F350 leafs gave it the 2” lift.
Had Limited in 2003 sold it 13 years ago and just bought 03 Eddie Bauer with 94,000 miles and I am more excited than I thought I would be.
Good Video.. I've owned 5.. I have 2 left.., including the 1 that I bought off you, Jake.. 👍
Ford needs to bring the Excursion back with the 6.7 and 7.3 options.
I own a 2000 anytime I drive it
So therapeutic just feel the power from 7.3 engine !!!❤
My niece, of all people, used to own one, and it too was white with a beige/tan interior. I think that it was also the same model as yours as well, if my memory serves correctly. Also, it was one of two officially licensed trucks/SUVs to have a V10 engine, with the other one being the 2004-2006 Dodge Ram 1500 SRT10. However, unlike Dodge, Ford a. had either gasoline, or diesel, powered V10 engines, b. had a variety of each type of engine, c. also offered smaller engines, in both gasoline, and diesel forms, for the vehicle as well, and d. was the only V10 vehicle of any sort to ever be made in a diesel form officially from the factory.
I always wanted to do a nice conversion of a 1960s or 1970s Ford F-250 non-dually crew cab truck with an extended bed, and then turn it into like a retro take of a Ford Excursion. I think that it would be nice to do that to such a truck.
I own a 2000 Ford Excursion . Purchased for $9000 3 years ago 180000 miles. Although the engine is the 5.4 everyone hates , it’s the 2 valve hints why it’s still on the road 23 years later. Bottom line they are the Biggest, Cheapest SUV you can buy and they are built to last. Parts are cheaper than old Escalade parts…just saying 😂.
I’d rather have that 5.4 than the 7.3 or 6.0, it’s way more reliable.
Can you imagine a electric Excursion with Alum frame and built light weight. If the Semi's can run electric why not. I'd buy one.
The 4 wheel drive system is Electronic Shift On The Fly. Also known as E.S.O.F
Thanks for that!
With vacuum hubs that tend to fail. Most guys switch them out to manual Warn locking hubs.
I would love an Excursion, but the market is rough. Also, I need head restraints.
I want a ford excursion doesn’t matter what year cause I’m tall I like the space and how big it is and its fords biggest/largest suv bigger then the suburban I’ll buy one in 2024
I have one for sale
I have an Excursion 4x4 with a 7.3 289K I will drive it until they ban diesel or I can't drive anymore
"Is the Ford Excursion any good?" Ha. Still driving ours 20 years now. Guess there ok.
Excursions ARE VERY ADDICTIVE. Buyer beware.
Does the remote start wait for the glow plugs to be ready?
It has a built in 20 second delay for the glow plugs, pretty cool!
I don't think any v10 Excursion gets 18 - 19 mpg. That more than likely was wrong. 10 is about right.
Or d you know someone selling one cheap and want information
The algorithm knows lol
What I can see is you not getting out of the fast lane! 🤯
Or you're like me, and option D, you own an Excursion, and are just interested in anything Excursion lol.
Like CZ owners haha
lol -40F
Not worth buying from a used car dealer
So this video applies to me first part and second but I’m an excursion owner just looking for a 7.3 one
The only good thing about the excursion is its looks, as a ford mechanic i would say its a good vehicle for me to make a good paycheque when you bring it in for repairs.
If you owned one and used it you would understand why people love them. Sorry you bust your knuckles changing parts. Just because the repair job is a pain doesn’t mean the quality of the vehicle sucks. Also consider how old they are no duh they need repairs the are all nearly 20 years old
I bought mine in 99, it’s 24 years old, all original, 350,000 miles. I drive it everyday. I’ll never get rid of it.
Not a chance any of these high tech new age SUVs will EVER outlast an excursion with a 7.3 diesel or the gas V10.
The excursions are like the Toyota 4Runners…built to last.
Built to last.
Those 7.3s are known to go well over 500k miles
Never had a problem with mine. The v10 is a solid engine. Maintenance is key!
