I wanted to put a HAMSTER with a microphone on it, and N5XO & KE5MHJ but my wife KE5MHJ said NO....S/he likes it plain. We do have signs that hang for ARES and Emergency communications.
that's a neat design I wonder why all radios don't do what icom did??? Put the real radio on the tower and just have a control head down in shack. No loss of RF Greg would love that as well as a bunch of other hams Im sure, myself included.
A couple of reasons, the biggest is power - It works on Microwave because it's low power.....everything is 10 watts or less on this radio. I plan on purchasing one very soon....but it will only be used for 1296 and up at my station......On 1296 and up lower power with high gain antennas is all you need. But on SSB 2 meters, 70cm, etc.....many run 300 to 500 watts and a lot of us are 1000 more more...that will not work with this setup.
As always, great content! Thanks for taking the time to do these. AI5CA
Love that trailer well done. Just needs some ares logos on the outside and name of group with some nice graphics.

Sadly this will be out of my price range as I live in a forest of trees so would be too difficult to point to point talk with it.
Mine as well, a couple of other radio's are going out the door to help fund it.
