My name is Anneke and I am 44, I will be 45 in August. And I was born with Spina Bifida. I walked until I was 10 and then had to have rods put in my back for scoliosis, lordosis and kyfosis. But I lead a very normal life. I work two part time jobs, I am happily married and I am on a bowling league. And am involved in my community. Seeing Roman, I believe he will lead an amazing life. I love following him and his family online.

It makes me so happy to see how good the interviewer was to him. Obviously, he's not going to be mean, but getting into the tent to play with him and mimicking Donald Duck was awesome. It seemed like Roman really enjoyed playing with the interviewer.

63 not hydro what ever but spina bifta stage 4 n my bump is in the exact same area. I walk, rode horses, drove 19 wheel rigs for a living, did 10 yrs taking care of children with physical disabilities cause when I was young No One Would Give My Parents a Break. I pray for your child n u guys as a family unit. I still walk just alot slower n with a walker. I have burnt my legs so bad n not even known they were being burnt, thank the good lord my husband smelled the skin burning. Be diligent with love n give yourselves a break every once in awhile. Love ❤️

It is amazing how much Rowan has conquered and achieved. Also, Jeff Glor is such a terrific human being. Playing with Rowan and doing the Donald Duck impression. I also noticed how comfortable Rowan felt with him, leaning on his leg while talking about the Disney characters. The Dad in Jeff definitely came out and it is beautiful to see.

The story is so heart-wrenching for me I'm so happy for little Roman and his family but I lost my daughter to Spina Bifida she lived 2 months
My child was diagnosed with spina bifida, now 7 years old with a condition of 10 kg weight, sometimes admitted to the hospital 1 month 4x for the treatment process & Fisiotherapi. Thanks for information

Things are changing, but not rapidly enough.
They wait for funding. They wait for grants. Grants are based on what will reasonably be funded…then they wait for funding.
Self fund. Let people do it. Not politicians, not big pharma….people.
Let the beauty and calm these lovelies have shown to us all…come back as wholeness for Roman.

I have Spinabifida and hydrocephalus myself, I used to be able to walk, I'm now getting walking practice and physiotherapy, I hope to be able to walk with my elbow crutches very soon

Assistive hardware is sorely lacking. We should have intuitive shoes and walking sticks and gyroscope belts that keep people standing without a fall.
