@Johnny Dong Guys I’ve seen many projects yes but not many on like where you switch a petrol/diesel engine van for a full electric, I’m not on about any other normal project or engine swap, as I don’t watch electric swaps or electric cars for that matter, and being a van lover I just thought I’d share my thoughts on this video and say there’s not many video’s of of this this on here maybe it is but I’ve not seem them, I don’t quite understand, “what do you think a mechanic is doing 40 hours a week” of course I know they do, you just answered your own question they’re a mechanic, but Louis ain’t a mechanic is he.

Tip: if you have a battery higher than 48vdc, you can use directly all your chargers, induction cooker, an even inverter fridge without any additional inverter from DC to AC. Nice idea if you can't find parts for the original combustion engine. Definitely fun. Batteries are not CO2 neutral. Not by far. Especially not with US electricity. But better than the old engine
Being a licenced electrician, mechanic, building engineer and master HVAC license holder. Also a lover of camping and nature. I found this build incredibly interesting. Good job man. Hope Elon Musk takes note and builds a production van. You could definitely give him some tips and ideas!
I know this was months ago, but series hybrid is very efficient. A ICE running at constant load/speed makes it maximally efficient, you can plumb in a real car exhaust to minimise noise, and this would give you big range with a small battery. Best of both worlds.

i am currently doing a Diesel Engine in my 71 VW BUS. Tons of Torque and 40 to 50 MPG. Doing the electric swap is an amazing idea but for going on real road trips it will never work great for real world road tripping. I wish you tons of luck and goes well.
In Brazil you can buy vw parts at the grocery store. No matter how small a town is, there's someone who can rebuild this engine in 3 days using only hand tools. Definitely not expensive to maintain a wv van here.
We have an actual Tesla and its range is 320 miles. We've used it for road trips of up to 1800 miles (one way). you need to recharge at a supercharger every 250 miles or so for 30 minutes or so. So you go get a drink and go to the bathroom and/or eat a meal and you're good to go.
