As someone old enough to remember when Warcraft and Warcraft II were ground breaking games, I am absolutely stoked for this. Something completely new but with that old school nostalgia of playing LAN games of Warcraft II against my brothers. Love the physics in this as well. We definitely want a zoom in and out feature as well. I remember in the original Dawn of War we had to wait for modders to make a camera mod so we could zoom and and appreciate all those kills.
Hi and thanks for sharing your impressions of the game and your experience with past such games. I am very happy to read that. Do join the playtest on Steam and try it out!
Tell me, we'll have a "new WarCraft" without telling me, that we'll have a new WarCraft ^^ It's not just taking some inspiration, it's indeed adding some more ideas to the soup. This looks promising.

Indeed, the animations are incredibly well done for an indie game. That is why I wish they added zoom this playtest version. Hope you will join the playtest and future demo.
I like how units can go inside buildings and fight. I've never liked other games people can stand outside and bang on it or shoot arrows at it and destroy a building. I suppose it makes sense to think what they are really doing is attacking the defenders then setting fire to it. So that way I suppose it does make sense for archers to destroy a building because they could be setting fire to it and it probably wouldn't be too hard if no one stops them for them the fire they're making to overwhelm the defenders who're trying to put it out.
Hello! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and impressions. I too disliked how most building destruction works in fantasy games. This is indeed a better way. Hope you will give the playtest a try
Well, that would be amazing. But are you aware modders remade Warcraft 2 campaigns in Warcraft III Retold? And also Warcraft 3 campaigns in StarCraft 2 engine? I talked about this in my previous videos like this one: ua-cam.com/video/FNG1fHnJXKw/v-deo.html
The size of the building to units character seems solid. It is a little bit clunky but an amazing indie game worth of trying. Still, five stars for the small developers, they really outdone themselves since it's a small publisher. I loved the review, like every one you post. Well done brother, and thank you for the content.
It was a grim and sobering dreary day, the day I realized that there will never ever be a Warcraft 4. Thank you. Knowing about this is like a great grey cloud has parted and I can see hope for RTSs, again!
I'm convinced Blizzard is incapable of making Warcraft 4 and going by their recent releases, I don't want them to try. This game looks to be filling that void quite nicely.
I can see in the future, people will recreate the entire Warcraft (1-3) with this game. This is absolutely what I had in my mind when Blizzard re-create Warcraft 1 and 2, and I can't wait to try it myself. Also, they're adding a new factions?! Will it be Elfs? Dwarves? Something new? Guess I'll let them cook first.
@@kevinabiwardani7550 Hi and thanks for sharing your impressions and optimism about this one. For now all we know is that they want to add more factions. But progress will be gradual. What was your favorite faction to play in Warcraft with?
@perafilozof Thank you for the reply! My favourite faction is probably the Undead Scourge. The Necromancers, Banshee, Abominations, and especially the Frost Wyrm was quite powerful. Though I also love the Night Elves for infinite wood.
The Orcs feel noticeably stronger, both when playing as them and facing them in several matches. Turtling emerges as a highly effective strategy, particularly in the late game, where the increasing waves of Night Creeps make farming them with archers and cannons a lucrative alternative to traditional gold income. After two hours, I was generating hundreds-if not thousands-of gold each night by holding off hordes of skeletons. That being said, I would love to see a defensive Horde Mode scenario that included stronger creeps peppered in to see how long I could hold out. However, to create a better balance between offensive and defensive gameplay, there needs to be a siege unit capable of outranging entrenched defenses, like the trebuchet or bombard in AOE2. For instance, setting up kill zones with spaced-out barracks, each equipped with overlapping two cannons and four archers, and supported by archer kill-teams behind barricades, consistently dismantles any AI deathball strategy, even if they mass Ogres spamming potions. From there, it becomes a straightforward matter of starving the enemy out of gold and letting the Night Creeps soften them up before delivering them a merciful death. The game also does include a population cap in the form of a soft population cap, where the number of workers you can build limits the number of farms and farmers, effectively constraining the total number of supportable units. This mechanic adds an extra consideration when looking at unit composition and when deciding to venture outside of your base...and when. The game nails the fundamentals of the genre while implementing some great ideas to mix things up, like day/night cycle and spawning creeps at night to harass your economy. The modern mechanics feel fresh and well-balanced. To me the game is both easily accessible and enjoyably challenging.
Hello! Thank you very much for covering all the important gameplay elements in your review of this playtest. I agree with everything you have written here. The developers hit a very good gameplay loop, orcs do need to be more balanced, and being able to turtle? That is just a major plus to most of the RTS players of old :)
Yeah :) The scatter shot is dealing great damage to units but no cannon ball against buildings right now. Hope you will try the game out on Steam during the playtest now and demo in January.
Thanks for the news sir! U really are a big impact to the rts community right now, streamlining the news about these new games. Another potentially great rts for me to look forward to 👀
This looks really good. Is the gameplay genuinely 3D or is there a grid system under everything? Gonna give the demo some welly and hopefully beat you again like TR ;)
Warcraft 1 a Dune has been my first RTS games. This looks realy good. Interesting new idea. I would like to see a little more units, but it seems to have solid foundations.
That is true, the foundation is really good. And I too hope the devs manage to expand on it. Thank you for sharing your impression of it. Hope you will try out the demo on Steam.
Nice video, subbed😁 How is the unit variety? I noticed for the humans that some soldiers had capes, more armor and shields. Are these a separate unit from the grunts, veterans or just an upgrade? Edit: I noticed some normal grunts also use shields, how does it all work?
Hi, and welcome to my channel. Yes, there are a few upgrades for units. So they get shields for example that you activate and they become slower but deflect arrows. They can also level up from experience. Do join the playtest yourself
Love the Night Undead. Hopefully they add more undead creatures. I wonder if there would be a playable Undead at some point. Then maybe the Undead will be getting waves of Elves or Forest Creatures instead. Very cool!
So my opinion is it's good, I got the invite for the play test and it's very basic in assuming they will add more. The AI beefs up there units with heal potions and it makes really hard too do combat. WC3 solved this with auto cast for holy knights. Potions should be auto cast in my opinion. Both the races are pretty cool, the fact that when a player dies they create skeleton armies is pretty cool. The assaulting towers and keeps is really unique love that.
Hi and thx for sharing your impressions from the playtest. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. Hopefully you will join us again in January for the multiplayer demo. What was your favorite faction to play with in WC3?
I've played warcraft3 when i was younger, now i spend a lot of time on Company of heroes 3/2/1 in terms of RTS. This looks a nice combination. Hope to see more in the futur
This game looks great and give off the feel of the OG WC game I loved as a teen. The day/night cycle is fun. Animation feels new without removing the nostalgia for us old gamers with rose colored glasses. 😂 I know it’s in early stage still but; I would request a nicer looking character screen with better animation, a stabil UI and real character voices from actors, not AI and not just grunts and babbel. What would be fantastic is if you release it WITHOUT pay to win and with a single player campaign worthy of Warcraft. Good luck and I hope to get to play it soon. 😊😊
@@benugdsen75 hello and thank you kindly for sharing both your thoughts and impressions. I hope you will enjoy this playtest. There is definitely a lot to improve and this is only the first time we all got to play it.
The game is going to be incredibly good! The graphics are impressive! The animations are extremely good! The sound is awesome. The map size is perfect! The game mechanics pick me right up! Simply WOW :O
If this game has mod support and an advanced editor like classic WC3 has, this game will be amazingly good. The classic WC3 custom game scene could come back to life through this game if it has the playerbase and modders to support it properly.
I knew about this before and I really like diggin' the vibe of the graphics. The level of detail is amazing, even if it were a FPS, which it isn't. However, if it plays well and has a story line which is good then I'm in for sure. I really hope this is great.
This game is exactly what i was talking about in my previous comment in your previous video about the ZeroSpace RTS. This game is Inspired by warcraft but when i see it I don't feel is warcraft I don't confuse it with warcraft I don't believe is a clone!. It was it's own unique style, lighting, art, color palette, U.I elements and unit movement feeling that is not making me believe is Warcraft. I don't have to play it to see the mechanics or the spells that are different. I see is different already! ❤ Zero space needs to understand this.
Hi and thank you kindly for sharing your impressions and thoughts about this game. I hope you will join the playtest and demo to try it out. And I do agree trying to get inspired without cloning a past game is very important and something that is also hard to pull of properly.
Who can, request access on Steam and you can try it. I play it with my mouth open until your first unit dies with arrows stuck in it, or when a corpse floats down the river, Or when they climb into your castle on a ladder. Or when you cross a stream with the water splashing beautifully. Well, beautiful animations. Or when they drop a sword or an axe. It's crazy, it's beautiful .... Better than War 3 reforged. I'm really looking forward to it.
Hi and thanks for that call to action and sharing your impressions and experience with the playtest. The details are definitely amazing! What similar games have you enjoyed in the past
The style is undoubtedly reminiscent of the iconic Warcraft, but the former and latter as titles. Really nice to look at, however certain Unity icons I would change, more to avoid too much ‘similarity’ with Warcraft. Still, it looks like a really nice and well-made game, and one to follow with interest. A nice discovery as a game, not to mention that it still has room for expansion as it is in development.
Hey mauro! long time no see! Glad you are back ! Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the game. It is indeed still a bit raw in its UI and form but it is getting there! Do try it out for yourself.
@@perafilozof I have tried it, and I must say that there is a good cure. Of course, it is still immature, but I can say that some of the dynamics are definitely very interesting. I'm glad I can have some time at the moment to follow the news on your channel, which I have never abandoned, but unfortunately due to time, I comment very little. Glad to have found you again my friend!
I'm not a Warcraft fan but this game looks interesting and solid. As a game dev, respect for the own engine, it probably gives them more flexibility, e.g. modding and an RTS multiplayer system is a pain with Unreal Engine 😂 Preparing for playtest...
Hi and thx for sharing your own experience from the playtest! I am glad to see more people trying it out! Make sure to leave your feedback to the developers. BTW what similar games have you enjoyed in the past?
To me this is probably Warcraft 4, that farm (Like AOE), enter tower(Stronghold) are really brilliant idea combine with classic RTS, if there's super unit, naval, air unit and heroes that would be perfect.
In 2001 a school pc had a game just like this. Command and conquer. Cossacks and this one. With humans castles and orcs. Ive always wanted to find it. Play it properly. Idk if this is it. But its base building orcs im after. So.. itll do?
Anno1800 has psst me off. Wasted 400hrs like nothing to realise how boring it is. Its just send ship to island. Send it back. I need to build ground army and send it fiNALI
Haha, good point :) Yes, currently there is a limit to the number of units you can select at the same time. Which as you said is similar to how to it was in WarCraft 2. What are you playing this weekend? Will you join the playtest and later the demo?
@perafilozof I looked it up after this video but tbh I'm so busy this weekend, I maybe put a couple hours into Diceomancer and leave the city for the next week! Merry Christmas! Thanks for sharing this gem with us.
Looks like Warcraft meets Age of Empire. Would like to see what a modding community would be like after this is released. Also what would it be like playing this on a poor Internet connection or Lan plays
Yeah, me too. It will depend on the size of the community and the quality of the tools for making mods. Thank you for the comment. What are you playing this weekend?
Great video! Should have supported these guys instead on buying WC2 remaster 😥. Besides missing a few units this has everything WC2 has plus additional features. I do like the undead attacking at night to give the player something to do. This can also be a negative since if you want to attack at night then you have to be managing defense and offense at the same time instead of focusing on the action.
Hi and thx for sharing your impressions of the game. I agree with you, it does get difficult to defend at night if you lose units in the morning. I really hope this game ends up being better than what we have right now.
knights heal at top tier, and it can make fights go right into human victory. Orcs are still good at top tier with ogre bloodlust, but If human gets healing knights first and uses them right, I don't think Orcs win unless they beat them before, or beat the human player to tier 3 outright to tech and crush them.
@perafilozof it's like playing warcraft 2, but made today. It is a joy so far. The ai is very funny to watch. It is effective in exactly the same way as mice learning a maze. Trial and error unto death occasionally lol
@perafilozof archers early, cannons for discrete choke points. Cannons hitting our units is the only thing that keeps cannons from being easy solution to hordes. Killed whole worker line too many time by accident lol. I cant wait for more camp types to engage us like the wolves do.
Tried it. It's rough, but has a nice foundation for further development. The "worst" thing at the present is the insanely good AI. I got destroyed every game I played, lmao.
This game has many things I have also implemented/am implementing in my RTS game, but mine is much closer to AoE2. I hope they don't call it a clone when it gets released xD
@@perafilozof Yeah, our art wouldn't be anywhere similar but the mechanics are a blend between some classic RTS, I hope unique enough to not to be called a clone haha. Or maybe is good for people to try it/ get interested!
Thinks I would like: 1- Voices, I mean more then grunts. 2- The avatar/picture thing. The animations are bad, do something like W3 or SC did, add some avatars there that look cool. They don't need to be representative of in game actions. 3- Farms, make them 4x the size or allow 1 pessant/farm. They look stupid with 3 of them plowing the same place. 4-Towers, make them a bit taller, its to small.
I've played it in playtest, looks very solid and promising, but need a lot of more content, and maybe new factions to diversify a little bit? I didn't like the "healing/potions system" for every unit. Anyway looks awesome!
Yeah, they are working on more factions, but they are still early in development. A lot of it is missing and we are all hopping they find some publisher or investor to speed things up. Thx for the comment and sharing your experience with the playtest.
the game graphics look really nice and overall artwork come together a lot better than wc3 reforged but my main problem with most indie RTS I saw would be more about the choice of their art style I away prefer to see more serious tone even the graphic going to look like rts from it golden age and maybe show me some killer feature what make their rts unique compare to the one before even it didn't have to be something innovative but it can be just more polish concept from older game that didn't get use at full potential or twist some old concept to make it more interesting. even so I away want to play warcraft3 like game but with grand scale battle hope this game going to fulfill my need.
Hi and thanks for sharing your impressions of it with us all in the comments. I totally get that point of view, but many games from the golden era were full of comical stuff, irony, metaphors and such, maybe not all in how they looked, that is true.

Hi and thx for sharing your impressions from the playtest. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. Hopefully you will join us again in January for the multiplayer demo. What was your favorite faction to play with in WC3?
@perafilozof elves
Thx for the reply. Mine were orks
Loving the food concept!
I know! I do too! Thx for the comment! Make sure to join the playtest and Demo in January.
This is what I thought WC4 would look like when I was a kid. Amazing job.
Hehe, I agree. Thank you for the comment. What are you playing this weekend and why it isn't the playtest of this game ? :)
I've played warcraft3 when i was younger, now i spend a lot of time on Company of heroes 3/2/1 in terms of RTS. This looks a nice combination. Hope to see more in the futur
Hi and thanks for sharing your impressions. You should keep an eye on it's Steam page as the multiplayer demo is soon going to be up.
Wow this looks really cool!
And it plays amazing! Make sure to try the current playtest on Steam and join the multiplayer demo in January.
The movement and timing of the gamespeed looks perfect
Hi and thx for sharing your impression of it! Do try the playtest out! BTW what is your favorite faction in Warcraft?
@@perafilozof in MOST games, i like playing the CREATURES. the uglier the better. WC1&2-ORC. SC1-ZERG. WC3-UNDEAD. LOTRrts-MORDOR

Warcraft 3 reforge looking quite nice 2025. They finally fixed it. Nice!
Haha, epic comment :) Thank you for that laugh ! What similar games have you enjoyed in the past?
@@perafilozof definitely Godsworn ^_^
Thx for the reply. Great game that one
That's amazing. I hope this makes it BIG and much financial success!
Well, they already have over 10,000 players trying out the playtest :) Sounds like they are on track to go big ! Thank you for the comment!
The game is going to be incredibly good! The graphics are impressive! The animations are extremely good! The sound is awesome. The map size is perfect! The game mechanics pick me right up! Simply WOW :O
Hehe, I think so to my friend! Join the playtest and get ready for the soon to be available Multiplayer demo!
Hope there's options to customize the UI.
That would be a good idea. I agree. Thx for the comment! Do try the playtest!
Any story mode in single player campaign with voice acting cinematics.
Hopefully in the future! Thx for the comment!
If this game has mod support and an advanced editor like classic WC3 has, this game will be amazingly good.
The classic WC3 custom game scene could come back to life through this game if it has the playerbase and modders to support it properly.
Agreed! I hope it does. Thank you for the comment! Do make sure to test it out while the playtest is live and come back in January for the MP demo.
I knew about this before and I really like diggin' the vibe of the graphics. The level of detail is amazing, even if it were a FPS, which it isn't. However, if it plays well and has a story line which is good then I'm in for sure. I really hope this is great.
Also The lack of walls even if for humans is disappointing, still the"prefab" walls/wooden walls is a bad plan. However I haven't play test yet :(
Do give it a spin!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and impressions! It does look very good
A mix of old Settler's and Warcraft games.
A bit, yes. Thank you for sharing your impression. Do try the playtest and come in a few days for the MP demo.
Zero space needs to understand this.
Hi and thank you kindly for sharing your impressions and thoughts about this game. I hope you will join the playtest and demo to try it out. And I do agree trying to get inspired without cloning a past game is very important and something that is also hard to pull of properly.
@perafilozof i will get that game and support their work for sure
I am glad to read that!
Got the demo going to make some time for it to play it soon.
Sweet! That is what I love to read! Thx!
One of the few rts that actually looks good
It also plays great! Do go and download its demo.
There should be more distinctplay style and large units with aoe default attacks
True! I advise playing it yourself and leaving such feedback to the developers! What similar games have you enjoyed in the past?
This looks fantastic. The animations could get a lot better, but the graphics are very nice! I especially love the buildings.
Hi! I am glad to see you notice those. Thank you for the comment. Hope you will enjoy this playtest and the multiplayer beta in January.
@@perafilozof Hoping to get a campaign and possibly a lot of SP/Coop content :)
They said they are going to work on it
What do you think about ara history untold
Hi, I haven't played it, but from what I have seen it is not a bad alternative to Civ. Might get it on sale one day.
I like this game. It reminds me of BAR. It too was made in a similar way. From the ground up not by a huge company.
In the way it was made, indeed there are parallels. Thank you for sharing your impressions of it. I hope you will try it
I love the graphic style, looks awesome
Agreed! Thank you for sharing your impressions of it. Hope you will try it out as well on Steam. What similar games do you like?
I hope you will find more time to enjoy this game and my videos. Have fun!
I'm not a Warcraft fan but this game looks interesting and solid. As a game dev, respect for the own engine, it probably gives them more flexibility, e.g. modding and an RTS multiplayer system is a pain with Unreal Engine 😂 Preparing for playtest...
It's great, I've already played 3 games. It's just the beginning, but I know that everything will improve, more units will be added and a lot more.
Hi and thx for sharing your own experience from the playtest! I am glad to see more people trying it out! Make sure to leave your feedback to the developers. BTW what similar games have you enjoyed in the past?
@@perafilozof Yes, I'm already on Discord. And I see more units, Heroes, transport ships. Beauty.
Indeed, I can't wait to see them in action in the main game.
A very promising game. The play test showes a lot of potential.
True! Thx for sharing your impressions! Join us in January for the multiplayer beta.
@@perafilozof I am not that much of a multiplayer guy, so maybe.
Ok thx for the reply
are they gonna add more races? 5-6 would be a good modern spot while remaining balanceable?
They might, but they need to get a publisher or investors or sales of the first version to being with
To me this is probably Warcraft 4, that farm (Like AOE), enter tower(Stronghold) are really brilliant idea combine with classic RTS, if there's super unit, naval, air unit and heroes that would be perfect.
Heroes are already made, just not added yet to this playtest. I hope you will try the game out. Thx for the comment and sharing your impressions.
Hehe, we all have very interesting memories of those days :) Thank you for sharing yours ! And go download the demo and play!
No being able to select all your units? They are sticking close to the source material 😅👍
Merry Christmas to you too! Thx for the reply!
Like the look of this more then Godsworn. lots of potential.
I think both have their merits, and Godsworn has more content right now. Hope you will enjoy both!
I love the unit animations!
Same here! There is a lot of verity and they all look great! Thx for the comment! Do join the playtest!
knights heal at top tier, and it can make fights go right into human victory. Orcs are still good at top tier with ogre bloodlust, but If human gets healing knights first and uses them right, I don't think Orcs win unless they beat them before, or beat the human player to tier 3 outright to tech and crush them.
Ah good point. I see you have started playing yourself?
@perafilozof it's like playing warcraft 2, but made today. It is a joy so far. The ai is very funny to watch. It is effective in exactly the same way as mice learning a maze. Trial and error unto death occasionally lol
The night raids are the hardest for me. The base grows so fast, and it is hard to defend it all.
@perafilozof archers early, cannons for discrete choke points. Cannons hitting our units is the only thing that keeps cannons from being easy solution to hordes. Killed whole worker line too many time by accident lol. I cant wait for more camp types to engage us like the wolves do.
Hehe, I am glad to hear that, I hope so too!
Tried it. It's rough, but has a nice foundation for further development. The "worst" thing at the present is the insanely good AI. I got destroyed every game I played, lmao.
Haha, yeah, the AI expands quick and you have to match him! Thx for trying it and the comment!
looks so clean wow
Indeed, btw the multiplayer demo is starting today: store.steampowered.com/app/3354780/The_Scouring_Demo/
This looks awesome!
It plays great too! Apply for the playtest on its Steam page!
This game has many things I have also implemented/am implementing in my RTS game, but mine is much closer to AoE2. I hope they don't call it a clone when it gets released xD
Watching more.. Omg, it has so many things I've had on my game design document for years. I love this.
It is easy to get called a clone if both your art and mechanics are too similar to an old game.
@@perafilozof Yeah, our art wouldn't be anywhere similar but the mechanics are a blend between some classic RTS, I hope unique enough to not to be called a clone haha. Or maybe is good for people to try it/ get interested!
Well, I will be happy to let me audience see it and have them judge it.
@@perafilozof Man, I would love that! It's still very early in development, but when we have something playable, I’ll definitely reach out to you!
Put sync kills in it like Dawn of War and it'll be a must buy for me
Hehe, lets wish they do :) Thx for the comment! Do play in the playtest!
Thinks I would like:
1- Voices, I mean more then grunts.

Anyway looks awesome!

hey ppl, new Warcraft reforged just dropped. Yeah, this one. It looks so great.
Hehe, good one my friend :) Just goes to show they should have hired these folks to remaster WC3.
needs at least one more faction.
Only two factions feels too barren for me.
I know, hopefully we will see more factions join the gameplay in the future. What are you playing now?
the game graphics look really nice and overall artwork come together a lot better than wc3 reforged but my main problem with most indie RTS I saw would be more about the choice of their art style I away prefer to see more serious tone even the graphic going to look like rts from it golden age and maybe show me some killer feature what make their rts unique compare to the one before even it didn't have to be something innovative but it can be just more polish concept from older game that didn't get use at full potential or twist some old concept to make it more interesting. even so I away want to play warcraft3 like game but with grand scale battle hope this game going to fulfill my need.
Hi and thanks for sharing your impressions of it with us all in the comments. I totally get that point of view, but many games from the golden era were full of comical stuff, irony, metaphors and such, maybe not all in how they looked, that is true.
Looks promising, but unless they eventually plan to introduce a SP campaign eventually, I'm not sold...but hey that's just my preference
