Ha ha !- I’d heard a lot about the dreaded ‘peanut butter mud’ and how it can stop you in your tracks…fortunately the sunshine dries it out fairly quickly so I was able to keep going. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Northern New Mexico looks beautiful and rugged. I liked what you said about food resupply. I'm also chronically over packed with food. Another great episode!
Hi Ron - I enjoyed New Mexico with its variety of high elevation forests and then more desert like landscapes..Weight is something I took more notice of as someone said my bike felt more like a Harley Davidson (but without the motor) All the best..
Good evening Andrew, another great few days on the trail. The American people seem so generous giving you all that food etc. Some amazing scenery, some of those passes are fantastic. All the best mate 😀⛰🚴♂️🇺🇸
Morning Dave - Just amazing generosity..I think when some folk see a cyclist labouring up a hill in the middle of nowhere it brings out a generosity of spirit. I was so relieved to get over that Indiana Pass! Thanks for watching again and your comment - much appreciated 🙂
Absolutely superb video once again Andrew. Looks like you've had some very hard climbs but rewarded by stunning views, what a great experience you are having, look forward to the next installment. Stay safe
Hi Stewart - I think Indiana Pass was pretty testing but the weather held and the countryside in that area was lovely. Thanks so much for your comment and watching Regards..
Hi Harry - the Indiana Pass was a big day in the saddle for sure. Colorado was quite challenging but grand scenery and lovely forest roads. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🙂
Awesome!! What is very different from many other authors is you tend to nature and the trail. The earth, minerals and trees. The capture of summits and getting there. The capture of cool towns like el rito that i can only capture on google earth. I will also be carrying maps to study along the way for resupplies. Very important to not carrying too much but not running out. Outstanding. Im leaving Banff early 7/25. All this helps tremendously. Thank you!
Ah, Thanks so much for these observations. Absolutely carry as light as you can - I sent some items home from Helena, Montana. The maps and ACA app were invaluable. I was very apprehensive on the few weeks ahead of my trip and took a good week or so to get into the ‘groove’ - I hope you have a fab time, don’t be afraid to walk on steep bits! All the best…
Ah I can understand that. I struggled on the climbs as you might expect but as time went on I looked forward to the ‘challenge’ Thanks for watching and commenting - much appreciated 👍🙂
Thanks for another great video Andrew. I found New Mexico to be the most beautiful state of the route. If it wasn't for the afternoon rains and the lack of potable water in some of the areas. It seemed like after awhile another pass was just another pass. There were so many.
Hi - absolutely…from high mountain plateau to deserts. It was from this point that I started carrying 6-8 litres of water. But what a fabulous route..Thanks for watching and commenting. More of New Mexico to come-stay tuned (as they say)😉
Clay houses of El Rito, New Mexico, could it be twinned with all ours in BBS? Hope you enjoyed the Mate tea you were donated on your journey. Come on over for an authentic Argentinian Yerba Mate next time the Ladies do Tinnies!
Hi Andrew - yes! Clay Dabbins in New Mexico - the guy that gave me the Yerba Mate said it was high in caffeine, so i saved it till the morning. Thanks ever so much for watching - All the best 👍😊
Hi - yes I did. When thinking about it I saw very few others in latter part of Colorado and New Mexico. I suppose the faster folk were already ahead of me and the ones I met further back were still to do those sections. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Nice work Andrew. Lots of trail behind you, few section to go until Antelope Wells. Question... What Vitorria tire you have on the front (size/name) and how dose compare with the Maxxis? Thanks.
Hi there - I had Mezcals front and rear 2.25 if i recall. For some reason the tan wall on both gave out before the end of the trip - developed 2-3 little punctures. Both replaced with Maxxis Rekon and Ikon (recommended and fitted by 2 bike shops along the way) Both held out for the remainder of the trip but weren’t on the bike when i set out. Having said that a lot of people were running Mezcals - maybe i chose the wrong model? Hope that helps..👋🤔
Rattle snakes 😩😩agh , such a great video, looking forward to the next one 🚵♀️🚵♀️
Ha ha ! I was a bit shocked by how close I was - glad I saw one though ‘in the wild’ Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Gosh Andrew, amazing views but those tracks …… you have some grit … I would have been crying 😂🚵♀️

Thanks - a bit daunting when heading out there but really enjoyed it once I got going. Cheers 👍
An excellent journey in a wonderful paradise. I appreciated the simple, real style of your video. Thanks for not adding any music.
Hi - that’s lovely feedback. Glad you enjoyed the video - I couldn’t resist filming along the way. All the best..

Great video, did you ride on your own most of this section?

@@solway17carlisle Yes, Tan walls are rumored to be lighter but weaker. Glad you had the opportunity to change them out without disaster!
Hi Andrew..been following your trip but my comments don't seem to show...dunno why....From llama_ladee_anny......who you met in town a few weeks ago..
Hi - yes I remember…Your comment got through this time - Thanks for watching and hope you are enjoying…Hope you are doing ok. Best wishes 😊
@@solway17carlisle Yep, all ok..Biking around local Border forests..
