Awesome video, thank you for sharing what you take with you on your trips, this is a great help for those trying to figure it out. The one item that you have that really seems so unique was the Click stand - such a clever and compact solution ... Enjoy and love your videos!
Ummmm. that was incredibly helpful. I watch a ton of these videos and despite your dry presentation style, your knowledge and informative title placards are great!
Yes it did, that’s why I made the edit, to help people make informed purchases. Like I said in the vid go bike touring on whatever bike you have and it will be fun.
Ps tip keep the garmin in in reach on you not on the bike i came off on a trail ie Ho Chi Minh Vietnam and bike went over the cliff it took me 3 hours to get to the bike to hit the button since then i keep it on me not on the bike
Nice set up. You pack like I do, definitely not ultralight! Unless I missed it, one thing I didn’t see was some camp shoes (crocs, sport sandals, flip flops, etc.)
Riders should know, between Williams fork reservoir (kremmling colorado) and Henderson mill (ute pass Silverthorne) the county will be grading and mag chloride applied starting the 24th about 12 miles of road, Katja got caught in it last year messing up her brakes after going down the pass. MM 14.5 is cooler road with bike marker, I host here go thru small gate. Spread the word, I'm not internet savvy
Very nice setup! I love watching other’s riders setup, I always find some interesting peaces of gear that I might consider use myself, is it to much to ask to list all the items in the video description? cheers from Norway.
Thank you very much explaining gear “stuff” two weeks ago I bought THE BIKE for my next year GDMBR! Now I am testing it and all new gear for bikepacking. This will help me dearly! Thanks
Hope to meet you this year, dot watcher approximately 1,841 from start, ute pass between kremmling & Silverthorne colorado. Marker & water cooler at road, property to stay ALL riders.
I remember, great to meet you and talk for a bit. In the process of editing all the footage I got from the trip now. Hope the rest of your summer went well.
There’s a question I need to ask of drone operators, do you have a certification to operate them? In Canada if your operating a drone with “follow me” ability than you need certification to operate one. This involves an extensive course on navigation, chart reading, weather monitoring, etc. Failure to hold this certification will get you fined, drone confiscation by authorities. 24:42
I am certified in the US with a 107 certificate. In Canada through my research I found there are very few restrictions for micro drones which I used. Drones under 250g.
Nicely done. Very informative. What does the bike weigh unloaded and loaded (no food/water, just gear)? Seems like it would be on the heavy side. Thanks.
The bike by itself is only about 22lbs. I haven't weighed it loaded. I am certainly not focused on going super light like many Tour Divide racers do. I was focused on adequate space for food, water, camera gear and appropriate clothing for Northern Alberta.
@@wax_tracks yes the standard bags they have on there website are smaller to tight of a fit for drone and controlerjust send them message and say you want the bigger bag that you made custom for mark in Vietnam then your stuff will fit no problem
I have never weighed the bags and whole setup; not sure I want to know. It is heavy as far as bike touring goes for sure. Micro video production on two wheels.

Probably the best piece of gear I own. Highly recommend.
This is the best "gear review" video I have seen.
And it's the only one I have learned anything from.
( I'm not entirely new to this )
Thank you, very happy to hear it was informative
Ummmm. that was incredibly helpful. I watch a ton of these videos and despite your dry presentation style, your knowledge and informative title placards are great!
Dry as gin purchased in North Dakota.
I appreciate the camera work, easy to follow.
Awesome, thank you!
Love your videos, it was a joy riding with you.
Oh yeah, great to hear from you. I hope the rest of your trip went well.
Excellent excellent run down of gear. Thanks for taking the time to put that together!
My pleasure!
watching from Ireland, hell of a set up but man it must have cost a small fortune.great video.
Yes it did, that’s why I made the edit, to help people make informed purchases. Like I said in the vid go bike touring on whatever bike you have and it will be fun.
That was spot on👌🏻great seeing how others travel 🧳 on the same trail.
Thanks! 👍
Спасибо за подробный обзор: очень поучительно’ есть что повторить
Thank you
Great video. I loved the stem spacer as it is usually a pain point.
Such a clever product by #Rockgeist
Very good gear list video really enjoy watching other people setups videos
Glad I subscribed to your channel, you have some great vids as well @Bikepacking
Definitely have the creature comforts down. Just never know what to expect. I'll be book marking this tab for future reference.

Thanks @dodginglions5163
Best gear list and I have seen them all, thanks bro. Any chance we can get the list?
Thanks @robertbotta6536, would a text list of the items in the description be helpful?
Nice set up. You pack like I do, definitely not ultralight! Unless I missed it, one thing I didn’t see was some camp shoes (crocs, sport sandals, flip flops, etc.)
I am back from the trip now, I did end up buying some flip flops in Breckenridge. Nice to let the feet breath as much as possible.
Gear seems dialed in, good luck! Maybe we’ll cross paths on the bitteroot trail!
Thank you, certainly hope to see you on the path
Sick backdrop brother. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks @thewintersteiner, this is on the Adventure Cycling Association's route called the Missoula Spur that goes from Seeley Lake to Missoula.

Thanks for the info.

You have some great edits, I will attempt to get that list up before I depart.
Ps another tip always ask people to subscribe at start of video it will help if you ask
Great tip
Thank you for your gear list. Very helpful.
Stoked you liked it, thank you
Thank you very much explaining gear “stuff” two weeks ago I bought THE BIKE for my next year GDMBR! Now I am testing it and all new gear for bikepacking. This will help me dearly! Thanks
That's excellent you got a new bike, hope preparations for you trip go well for your trip.
Very well filmed and edited what camera did you use while on the bike was it a go pro or action 4 or did you just use your Sony Alpha 7 II
I used a GoPro 11 for all the rolling and talking shots on the bike, a Sony A7sIII, and a DJI Mini 3 Pro. Stoked you like it @Bikepacking
Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
Love that sunscreen
Right! Thanks @kk_reads have a great summer.
See you on the trail this summer.
Thanks @Logans_Run, certainly hope to see you the trail as well.
Hope to meet you this year, dot watcher approximately 1,841 from start, ute pass between kremmling & Silverthorne colorado. Marker & water cooler at road, property to stay ALL riders.
Trail angles rule, thank you sir.
I think you forgot to mention what those rad glasses are.
Smith Wildcat, great shades.
My friend & I saw you at Ram River Falls
I remember, great to meet you and talk for a bit. In the process of editing all the footage I got from the trip now. Hope the rest of your summer went well.
Thanks Matt for this very fine gear review! What is the weight of your gear (all together without water and food) and what does the bike weigh?
I don’t want to know

Nice video! Can you tell me what sidestand it is you use directly in the beginning?
Click Stand, he mentions it at 8:45
Thanks @larrym2434

The bike by itself is only about 22lbs. I haven't weighed it loaded. I am certainly not focused on going super light like many Tour Divide racers do. I was focused on adequate space for food, water, camera gear and appropriate clothing for Northern Alberta.
It's too much weight, he'll be pushing the load and get damn tired of doing it.
The seat is very cool
I am very impressed how comfortable the Infinity saddle is and a suspension seat post helps with the lower back. Thanks @bikepacking
@@wax_tracks been using that seat for 6 years love it
I keep my drone in a merit popcorn stem bag and camera in another meritgear popcorn bag that way easy fast access
Thanks for the tip, those look like high quality bags that you can custom order.

Nice video. When are you departing and are you going northbound or southbound?
Thanks @JoeFoxJr, I will be heading Southbound from Jasper, departing June 21st, weather permitting.
Great video. Just curious, what’s the approximate weight?
I have never weighed the bags and whole setup; not sure I want to know. It is heavy as far as bike touring goes for sure. Micro video production on two wheels.
Were you in a bike race or moving house. I’m a little confused.
Do you make any vids or just rip off and make fun of what others create 😂
Ha, ha, haah, you’re a hater, not healthy to be a hater. Don’t subscribe please.
@@wax_tracksouch. It was a throw away line. Loved the GDMBR video. It was a cracker.
Nice trip, what were your ‘ear buds’? Thxs
Headphones= Powerbeats 3
Ear Plugs= Loop Ear Plugs
Hey, If you haven't tried a Tyre Glider - don't even think about it - buy it! It saves on weight as well. See you on the trail!
Thank you
Wait, how do you attach the camera bag on the aerobar?
Two Silicone straps. One is exactly like I use for the water bottles and the other is much smaller. Works great.
@@wax_tracksthanks for the answer, will try that
What frame is that?

Tell you what I've been Bikepacking for 6 years now . I think I'll stick to whatever works for me
absolutely
That’s a quality set up, but also a lot of gear, not a minimalist approach.
Certainly not minimalist, specifically focused on bringing camera gear and sufficient battery supply.
He'll be sending a ton of shit home
Right that’s what I said in the edit
