  • Video shows you how to replace the A/C condenser, orifice tube, high-side service port, and the accumulator on a gen 2 GMC Safari, similar on an Astro. The refrigerant MUST be recovered prior to making any repairs/replacements, preferably by a 609 certified individual. If you're doing the work on your own vehicle, on an empty A/C system, and nobody is getting paid, then you do not have to be 609 certified. Astro Safari A/C System.

    1) I hope you become an instructor. This a a very good video, no more, no less.
    2) Also, I never see anybody using penetrating oil anymore, they strip it and dont care. You also know how to correctly use an adjustable wrench.
    3) Can you do a video on how to bypass a rear AC, maybe just a how to without acutally doing it on your system????

Someone has requested that video before, I'll add it to my planned future videos. Just a heads up: You will spend about $150 on lines, or find a van with non rear ac at the junkyard and take its lines. That's the "right way to do it." You can also try to plug them at their main system branch off point.
Using plugs like these (I've never used them) www.streetrodguys.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=63

@OldSchoolNoe thanks for responding ... reason for the "block off video" is that this would apply to basically ALL VANS WITH REAR AIR. A lot if those old vans are being turning into work vans. If you did a gm van maybe explain as you go how it might apply to another brand, no video exists like this, the issue with peg oil capacities comes up. Most condenser replacements don't tell you you about amounts in the condensers, blowing or cleaning the lines .... I have an old 1980s FORD VAN now a hauler truck 😊, these safari are becoming popular hauler trucks. So good luck
