      have you had any work done recently? I would look at grounds G105, then G106, possibly G110. If you need to know the locations of these grounds check out this video ua-cam.com/video/BN4wL70HTHI/v-deo.html Look at scan tool data to see if the computer is reading engine temperature as it warms up. If it is, there could be an wiring issue between the computer and instrument cluster, or even the instrument cluster itself is defective.

      make sure to get the one with only 1 hole! The vac ball is a reservoir for vacuum. That way when the engine is not producing ample vacuum (such as going up hills, or during heavy loads, heavy acceleration), there is some "backup" vacuum to be able to run the A/C vacuum lines/any other vacuum lines.

    • @OldSchoolNoe
      @OldSchoolNoe 24 дні тому

      3 questions near the end of the video: 1. (B) interlock 2. (A) only Technician A , the input shaft bearing is turning in drive and in neutral. The output shaft bearing is turning while the rear wheels are turning. Disengaging the clutch stops the input shaft from turning while the engine is on. The key point here is to know when the 2 bearings are turning 3. (C) worn blocker rings. Look at 3:17 , the blocking ring is the gold colored piece (brass). All the other pieces would be metallic (grey, silver).

    My 2004 stiff to turn and won't turn far enough to start engine turned out to b a bad ignition actuator in the upper half of column and the plastic block in the lower half that attaches to the actuator. Column had to come out. Found that the biggest problem was the block in lower half was binding thus key could not move through it's stages. It would not slide in its housing. Sanded down the edges until it slides smoothly and put back together. Works great now!!

    I’m working on my 05 ac. There is no current going to the clutch. I’m tracing wires. What a mess. I think there is a ground issue. But can’t find any broken wires. Do you know anything on that? Do you know if they sell a wiring kit complete ac wiring harness? Everyone says give it a real charge, but I’m pretty certain no power is going to the clutch. Any info would help. Thanks.

    • @OldSchoolNoe
      @OldSchoolNoe Місяць тому

      The compressor clutch connector has 2 pins (A and B). The power side is on pin B, it gets power from the A/C Enable Relay (normally open), that gets its power from the "A/C Comp" fuse (hot at all times) , fusebox is close to the battery.

    • @OldSchoolNoe
      @OldSchoolNoe Місяць тому

      The ground side is on pin A, gets grounded at G104. What I would do is first see if the "A/C Comp" fuse is not broken. Then check if the ground is good. I would take a circuit probe (that's hooked up to the battery) and very pin A has ground. If those checkout then I'd move on to the A/C Enable relay. I'd remove it and see if pin "C8" (orange wire) was getting power with the key on engine off. Then I'd disconnect the compressor clutch connector and jumper pins "C8" and "D4" (dark green wire) on the relay side and see if we get power at pin A of the connector. (key on engine off).

    my advice on Chevy Astro /GMC Safari power steering pump replacement. DONT. if possible scrap the van first. But this is the best video on it i have seen. The NAPA carlisle puller set is better in my opinion but the set shown is still a good choice avoid all the cheap sets at all costs. Mine did not have the u shaped tube rateher the high pressure hose went directly into the back---which is physically impossible to get started back into the pump with it mounted. But its impossible to get the pump mounted with the hose attached. So you have to get the pump part way in and start the hose connection and once you finally get it in position and bolted tighten the line. GMs official repair guide starts with "step 1--remove engine from vehicle" Anyway nice video glad yours was easier than mine.
