      Well, technically no. If left alone, organic matter turns into a kind of sludgy soup. At least, we do. We don’t turn to straighten up dust. And when fruit decomposes, it grows moldy, and in the case of watermelon, seems to turn into a sloppy watery mess. This video is what organisms that aid in decomposition do. 😊

    Amazing video! Could you feed them a a jello cube. Something like 4" or even 6" cube. Large enough, so the cube stands above the mealworm 'pit'. It would be interesting to see how they consume it, and if any tunneling occurs.

    1:50 im surprised he didnt notice he had a rare black mealworm. theres like a 1/500,000 chance for it to be a different color. very rare. also i just made that up but it definitely did catch my eye, i thought it was like a beetle or something at first.

      Mealworms aren’t at all like fly maggots that leave gross residue all over everything. Food can rot very quickly especially when there’s a lot of moisture and not enough ventilation.

    This is a random story, the other day on Thanksgiving I ate some old cereal that was at the bottom of the cabinet and it was pretty dark in the room. I didn't know until after I finished all the cereal, I saw three floating in the milk, that there were meal worms in my cereal.
