- This is a compilation of my top 5 best time-lapse videos from 2022.
It features an extremely long, 450 day, potato time-lapse, which is followed by the blood time-lapse because you guys liked that very much. After that, in the 3rd position comes the whisky and cigar time lapse.
I had to give the 2nd position to the Yellow watermelon in soil time-lapse, which has fewer views than the red version of it, but this time the watermelon sprouted, and it's a better video in general, just for whatever reason youtube didn't push it, so this will be new to many of you.
The very best time-lapse on my channel from 2022 is the whole watermelon time-lapse, which took an unbelievably long time to create, 609 days.

i find it magical that the potatoes somehow puff up sometimes as if theyre trying not to die. Its sad but also very cool

Well I think that he left the camera on that is taking a video while he went to go do something else after hours later he comes back to check on it to see if the camera is still going

I love stoping by her to see something in minutes that really takes years, I love the stuff and can’t imagine how expensive this is, keep it up!

@@JatPhenshllem It depends, I think they make múltiple videos at the same time, soo maybe 1 good camera, the food, a good pc for render and edit....
So for start about 2000 or 3000 $ and for the food depends but no more than 60 per video, buut maybe im totally wrong

Not sure why, but the watermelon in soil video could make me cry if well edited and produced. The cycle of life, seeing the plant grow from nothing is so fabulous it can get me emotional. Slightly like Yann Arthus Bertrand's movies on the beauty of our Earth, this type of video is so fascinating it manages to express the beauty of "growing". A total mystery, a "why" without any "because", it just grows and gives life. No explanation possible. That green colour is genuinely refreshing.
I love how the potatoes started growing instead of being eaten by maggots
It made me sad when the potatoes started to die, I was hoping to see them planted so they could grow.

I was sad about the watermelon at the end. After so much time of decomposition, it turns into a hard substance. Watching that silent and cold ending where once there was life and now is dead and forgotten, is sad
the fact that a watermelon can (at least on the outside) be perfectly fine for over 450 days is crazy
Agreed! I was surprised too - I thought it'd give in way sooner. Kept me on ym toes :D
I think it also depends on the conditions in which they are kept. I remember when I was a kid my grandma rolled a watermelon under her bed by the end of the season and preserved it there for very long time (maybe even by Christmas or something. I can't remember exactly. Several months for sure and there was snow outside when we ate them.)
So I guess a perfectly intact wetermelon can last even longer in a cold dark place.
Now imagine you had a camera set up to observe the studio and kind of show the flow of faster time lapse exhibits getting shuffled in and out around the really long term projects like the potato.

Not sure if only one who cried when I saw the melon seeds grow, and the spuds die, and all the macro-arthropods running around. Just to think moulds and bacteria are so powerful, and we just wipe them away, we trample on their home (the soil) with no thought (well I do), and take them for granted. They can live in minus degree conditions, when we would freeze solid…..a whole world under our feet that gives us the food we eat. This worlds amazing, thank you for sharing the beautiful video with us all. You must have the most patient and kind soul to do such delicate work. I truly hope the appreciation of this biome hits home with anyone who wasn’t quite sure how important soil microbes are. ❤

I really enjoyed the potatoes and slice of watermelon in soil. It was interesting seeing a time lapse of new life emerging from decay.
Also did not expect the whole watermelon to last that long! It stayed green (different variations, but still green) for about a year! And the way the dried juices curled away from the dried rind at the end was really cool!

I had some white pumpkins growing in my garden when I moved into this house. I collected them when ripe, and displayed them in my kitchen.
They took over a year before they started (visibly and externally) breaking down, much like your melon!
Imagine leaving a sigar on a glass of whisky for later just to find out that after 28 days it all disappeared.
Loved the melon in soil, that was awesome to watch.

A humid environment is enough for the potato to actually start growing a huge stick like if it had been planted. And when i say "humid" i mean basement humid, thats enough. Fascinating how these things can grow anywhere

This guy of all people has a more consistent upload schedule than some UA-camrs that literally just watch another video and give a reaction, and sometimes puts in a raid sponsor. They got the EASIEST JOB ON EARTH AND THEY STILL TAKE TWO MONTHS TO UPLOAD A NEW VIDEO
The way the blood dried up kind of reminded me of lava, the way it dries up and leaves that similar detail of cracked surfaces, it reminds me of earth as a whole.

Having worked in produce in the past I can smell that watermelon the second it finally lets go. One of the foulest decomposing fruit smells by far.

This was incredible. The only thing that it was missing was showing the growth of another watermelon from the plant that emerged from the decaying one.
