“Quick” change in the parking lot while my wife continued to shop. Had the same struggle with getting it to fit, but the compress trick did the job. Thank you.
I got the price estimate from a Nissan dealership about $87.00 to replace a new cabin air filter. After watching your video,I decided to do it myself. Thanks for sharing your video .
Thanks for sharing. Another video showed the filter immediately behind the glove compartment like my Toyota Tacoma and Rav4. Imagine my surprise seeing nothing there! Wondered if this model didn't include a cabin filter for some reason. Glad I found your video before I returned the filter. Agree, the fit was a bit of struggle especially considering the minimal amount of space to work with. Removing the glove compartment made it much easier for me! Anyway, good share although, I did fast forward thru the whole shopping for a filter exercise!
9/12/24...You did good. I''ve replaced filters in many of my cars/suv's. The Rogue is the worst one to do. I thought filter goes in Vertical but it is Horizontal. Oops.. This month it is in there horizontal & why I checked UA-cam to be sure. Most are in the Glove Box. My 2009 Saturn Aura had the area in glove box but I had to cut on the dotted lines to install then duct tape to keep cover lip closed. I change filters out for neighbors as many not inclined on auto stuff so it is FREE for them. Going to double check mine is horizontal but it's a pain and no fun in humid hot weather. Thanks for your video since you had same issues I had first time.
OMG I feel your pain . The dealerships are insane. That was me trying to cram filter into that ridiculous awkward slot ! Which is why Nissan makes it hard so we will give up and go to the dealer! You did a great job and thank for the video and lil laugh…😂
When I got my car, I purchased a service contract for 5 years, so most of my maintenance is covered. Today, when I took my car in and complained about my cabin filter not doing its job, I was told that I have a choice to make - change break fluid or an air filter... hmmm... touch choice to make.... 🤔 Long story short, they wanted about the same amount of money - $80-$90 to change that thing. Since I am watching your video (thanks, by the way), I am planning on changing it myself. With regards to price - I do think it is a fair price. It all boils down to the following: * Expenses of the establishment (stealership or a body shop) + parts. I would assume that stealerships use OEM parts that are slightly more expensive than aftermarket. * Are YOU willing to pay that much. Time is money. Let's say that you just spent 40 minutes on this whole project (driving to the store and installing the filter). If you are very busy, you might opt in to paying that $100 for someone else to do it for you, while you work on your other projects. But yeah, I agree. Cost of maintenance is very expensive and, those of us who want/need to save, will do it ourselves. P.S. Oil change is very easy too (but might get messy) ;)
Wowwwwwww dealers are for sure rip offs !!!!! I Watched on UA-cam for the location of filter and ordered from Amazon next day prime with tax $9.57 the cabin filter for a Rogue as well. Took out old one quick Installed new one quick , and yes FYI: you have to pinch it like a butterfly 🦋 to go in 👍 In less than 2mins new filter👍 Great video ty TIP: Before going to dealer check UA-cam videos
I had an oil and brake fluid change at Nissan. They said I needed to change the cabin filter on my next oil change. It would be $89.99. Crazy. I found it on Amaon for $12.00. So, with the help from YT, I saved like $78.00.
For the hassle, $70 may have been worth it... Your video helped, but mine had a screw holding the door in place. Not sure which is the more common, but something to be aware of. Thanks!
It’s a Philip head, cheap screwdriver you can get anywhere, a little bit of a pain with the positioning other cars were in the glovebox, watched a video with the Philip head and it’s easy. Air filter can be cheap or higher depending if you want K&Y so it’s still cheaper since the dealer ship is paying the same as we do for the part then profiting like $50+ on the labor.
Why are we looking at a mirror image on your video. Everything was backwards on the receipt and on the filter box and your steering wheel was on the right side of the car? Anyway I enjoyed your video. I would ask the dealer what their hourly rate is and try to get them to justify their install fee. Then I would tell them, "This is why a lot of people never bring their vehicles to the dealer for normal servicing, because the dealers rip them off."
Maybe because he record the video using front camera of the phone. Nowadays all new phones will flip horizontally for the front camera. But he actually can edit the video to become normal back.

Does it have anything to do with the smell in the cabin? My interior smells bad.
@@crand20033 yesssss , stinky vents ? Change filter just like a home filter we have to change
Do it yourself. I made myself figure it out. Now do it regularly, especially in mouse season. Female 68 years old.
I had the same exact problem with putting it in it was ridiculously hard! Thanks for showing me that it wasn’t just me.
Thank you for sharing this video. My model is 2018 and it has the white plastic cover. I think im confident now to do it myself

Thanks for sharing this. I am a novice too and have the same feeling of being overcharged. Now I know I can do it :-)

Thank You so much!!!
Good job
you get a better view if you remove glove compartment
Well since you made it look hard I rather just pay for it😂😂😂Lol
me too !!
Not fair 87.00 ripoff
Long, terrible, could have been done in less than a minute
You are absolutely correct, sadly I was learning while doing the video.
