Excellent video. Considering how needlessly difficult this ended up being, I’m very impressed you managed to get it done without uttering a single curse word. I couldn’t say the same for myself. Lol

Our Rougue had a single, short retaining screw holding the cover plate in place. Otherwise, everything was fine and the video helped.

This video was more helpful than the first one I watched. Got it done, thank you. I’m getting ready to do the one on my 2012 rogue now. The engine air filter design was much better on the older rogue so I hope that holds out for the cabin air filter. Much simpler to change on the older model.

In essence the filter is really behind the infotainment center - the flap can sometimes be a smidge hidden behind paneling.

Nice job! I found this job to be a real pain in the neck, literally and figuratively. Being a senior, and having to contort my neck to do, not fun. I wasn't really 100% sure I got it properly seated, but I think so. I think I used a Carquest CAF too. Hondas CAF infinitely easier than the Rogue. Watched other vids before doing it, but this would have been most helpful. 👍

Thanks for this! I think I managed to do it right. When I tried to remove the old one, it was sideways. Guess it either wasn't installed correctly last time, or it worked it's way around. Quick question, though, I noticed some wetness when I stuck my hand in the slot without the filter. What could cause that?

2019 and 2020 models actually use the phillips screw (located to the right of the lower pull loop) to secure the filter door. I'm sure it was an assembly update to address a buzzing noise coming from under the IP by customers. Funny thing is if you watch videos made on UA-cam of 2014 to 2018 models none of them have this screw but all of them have the screw hole.

Wow, what a SOB to get back in. Knew getting the old one out it was a matter of squishing get back in, but with a new one you are reluctant to shove too much. Getting into an hourglass shape, bottom 3/4 in while working the top in is a nice tip. Horrible design. But saved $100+.

I think it's dumb that you've to squeeze the filter to fit it in, because if it doesn''t fully expand, there'll be a gap where most of the air (and whatever else) get into the cabin w/o filtering... Another dumb Nissan design.
