    Hello Cory, your container all are sooooo beautiful. You are so right about less is more. Proven winner puts, in my opinion a little to many plants. And I love yours more. For one thing, all gardener's can't afford all these plants, just for one container and another thing you just don't need them. Great video.i love how you always explain the growth and all the great information about all that you have planted or are getting ready to plant. ❤❤❤

    Corey, I, too am in Michigan. You, the north, me in the south. Love love your videos. Just found you a couple weeks ago. Enjoy every video. I am trying to binge and see them all. Afraid I really missed something if I miss even one. I would love to send you a photo of my GreenStalk that I have mainly done with Proven Winners bubblegum. Had no idea how many to use , so next year I may need less. It is beautiful!I could watch you all day!

    I just love watching your videos and walkthroughs. Very informative and thoughtful to educate us on being mindful of the number of plants and the impact it has at the end of the season. I tend to overplant especially with a short season in the northeast I want to have all the colors and textures as long as they last. But as you said less is more!

    Hi Corey i I always love your videos and look forward to them.My goodness I can't believe how beautiful these are what show stoppers! I'm sure glad you are saying that about the pot sizes, yesterday I spent time transplanting a bunch into bigger pots and I will say i have one wave petunia ina 14" and it's almost to big for it but im now experimenting with it.I truly agree with you the pots don't have to be jam packed! love the white and purple and plum colors just beautiful! Thank you again Corey.

    Just found your channel and am really enjoying it. Wondering if you have suggestions for difficult spaces. My front door faces west and is set back. It’s shaded a lot of the day then becomes a brick oven in the afternoon. So far the only plant I’ve found that can handle it is Swedish Ivy. Thanks

      Have you tried interspecific geraniums. Like the Calliope, Caldera, Caliente, Mantra, Mojo, or Moxi? In Michigan, I’ve had good luck in the low light/intense heat spots.
      You could try euphorbia, sweet potato vine, scaevola or maybe salvia.

      Yes, I’ve planted SuperCals and Supertunias together she they have gotten very large. The Supertunia Vista series get bigger, but they still work when planted together… just realize the Vistas will take up a little more space.

    Corey, what's you r opinion -- I am wanting to do a hanging basket or 18" planter of three calibrachoas colors (bright bold purple, bright bold hot pink, and orange/coral). Assuming they are from the same series or have the same habit, is there a best way to get the colors to blend well (so all three colors are all over the pot and not separate with one color per side)?
    In other words, will the colors intermix better if I put all three colors together in the center of the pot, or if I spread them all out at the outer edge of the pot, or it doesn't make a difference? Thank you 😄👋

    • @UpNorthGardenMI
      @UpNorthGardenMI  6 місяців тому +1

      I’d plant two of each color close to the center of the 18” container (alternating the colors). As they grow, keep an eye on the branches and train them to overlap.
      If the plants are large when you buy them, trim them back.
      Hope those tips help.

      This type of video is so helpful to us all. Please show us the same PW suggestions and the REAL pots you planted, through the summer.
      I have had to remove plants or throw the entire arrangement out by mid summer to mid August some years as the pots looked a mess. Yes I pruned, watered and fed on schedule. I have skipped to using small shrubs in many pots and planting them in the garden in the Fall.
