And for 3 mana you can cast a necro! I get why people like Phyrexian Arena but mannnn that card is kind of bad in edh. It just doesn't do enough.
It varies on the playgroup and power, but getting more than 5 cards from Phyrexian arena is uncommon.

@@bertschumacher2097 in a more budget direction I’ve been finding myself liking treacherous blessing more and more. So long as you aren’t a storm deck the life loss isn’t bad and you get the cards immediately.

Ashlen has fr been on more extra turns and game knights than Jimmy has
I think she cemented her place on the show with the amazing win with Kozilek.
Don't get me wrong, I love both Jimmy and Josh, and Jimmy and Josh together...but at this point they could probably just do episodes here and there (both of CZ and GK) without one of them (or even both of them) on. I know they've done it before, but I mean as a regular, planned thing every 3-5 episodes (rather than just when Jimmy is busy being a Hollywood filmstar). Mix it up with guest spots, from Ashlen to Jake to Ladee...hell, even bring DJ and Kyle in here and there! So both the crew and other random repeat friends they've had on before.

I'll just say: Korvold...
DOUBLE KILL
True, considering she killed 2 people at once, but she did it with, basically, exact amounts of creatures dying and life loss abilities triggering. If she didn't have that Find/Finality, she would have likely dies on the crackback, likely giving Jake the win. Also, nobody was playing any life gain effects; rather everyone was happily paying life for abilities or losing it via direct sources.
My reference for a filthy turn is to loop a Reassembling Skeleton with a Bastion of Rememberance to drain my opponents infinitely, but I guess that's maybe too much for most people.
I loved it because Find/Finality was a card that I had a real fondness for when I started playing Arena, so to see it at work here does my heart good.
If only Jake had read Captains Lannery Storm second ability and sacked the treasure to pump and trade with medomai.
I love how when they put a bunch of counters on things the editors make the "bloop bloop bloop bloop" noise from game knights. Makes my heart warm inside.

A friend of mine used to wake up in the middle of the night and quote verbatim the card text on Omnath, Locus of Creation. He's an L2 and was studying card rulings for the exam for weeks, it was pretty great.

Ladee Danger deserved it... Every second of this game was her going from 'what I'mma Do?!' To 'oh wait, I got this!' And no one noticed that she was the real threat the whole time

I believe they missed the poison tip archers trigger when the sprouting thrinax died. Again, not a huge deal but figured I'd chime in.

@Pariah those two sentences are functionally identical in this context.
@Pariah seeing as everything that happened within the context of this video was DURING an episode of extra turns, the joke still applies the exact same way. And, It’s kind of funnier than your alternative wording because this way it mimics the wording of the card.
I like that Ladee killed everyone on the final turn with a card named Finality. It felt like a Fatality in Mortal Kombat match.
Can't believe I have been casually watching this content for years. I love it. I appreciate everything you guys do to keep this show running! Bucket list for me has now been erased. Only one thing on it now. Get Knighted at Game Nights!
Also that last turn with Ladee just EXPLODED. What a good win! Korvold is nuts!
27:00 oof, that missed 14 damage with the flying/vigilance plant tokens hurts me. (2 damage each because mirari's + Doran) We've all done it, but that doesn't make it less painful to watch.
Especially after he corrected Manson on not attacking with his tokens earlier
i never pay it any mind because i always play alt wincon decks
Manson: play Canopy Vista tapped
Ashlen: play Sandsteppe Citadel tapped
Jake: play Evolving Wilds (basically tapped)
Ladee: PLAY BAYOU, IN YOUR FACE

It's funny, she plays that turn 1, then next turn she plays an untapped shock land. I wonder if she had both in her opening hand and simply messed up the order, or if she drew it on turn 2.

That's why you never leave the Korvold player alone, lol. But seriously, this was such a fun episode! Had a chance to see what each deck was trying to do and a nice variety of decks!
I would take it one step further and say just don't play against Korvold ever. When I saw it, I knew it would win, no matter how the boards state looked, I knew lady would pull it out somehow.

Korvold isn’t that hard to beat when all opponents are packing a good amount of single target instant speed removal.

I just wanna say thank you for telling everyone to get vaccinated. I'm waiting on the Walmart I work at to get more in. I'm hoping I can meet you guys at a MagicFest sometime. I saw you guys in person at my first GP in Vegas in 2017 a year after I started playing. I, unfortunately, got called to play before I could say hi, but I did get to meet the absolutely amazing Professor & got him to sign my playmat. Keep making great content y'all!

Love the extra emphasis on Embalm tokens in Jake’s deck. I built Esper Zombies with Varina, Lich Queen, just to play every half-decent Embalm or Eternalize creature in those colors.
Aven Wind Guide is way good. Especially with red and green support. Gotta give those big beefy boys evasion keywords.

Ladee's deck was really cool and it seems like the power level of these Extra Turn decks are higher than the average GKs decks. Hope to see more of this

Ladee is definitely a woman from my own heart. Prossh during the Christmas episode of Game Knights a few years ago and Korvold in this episode of Extra Turns. She plays a lot of decks similar to what my play style is. Absolutely love her.

The editing quality of these are lower quality than Game Knights, yet still better than every other commander gameplay on UA-cam, great job Command Zone Team!

Jake totally should’ve won. All his plants had vigilance and flying and were each hitting for 2, he could easily have taken out Ladee. Plus he still keeps everything untapped for blockers because of Aven Wind Guide. He was poised to take that game!

Exactly, I didn't understand why he wasn't attacking with the plants. Even if you don't want to kill Ladee that turn he could've done some serious damage to Ashlin or Manson..

I love this channel so very much! Great entertainment with the edits and everything, feels like a show. I want to say something regarding CARD KINGDOM. So I recently started ordering from there because I wanted to get my collection back (I had to sell all my cards back in 2013 😢), I’ve ordered everything between singles, complete sets, boxes, dual decks etc.. if you are curious about the condition of the cards you are ordering, rest assured that they will be in literally mint condition, I very much care about the quality of my Mtg cards, even the smallest barley noticeable mark will make me not want to put that card in my binder, every single card I’ve ordered has been in phenomenal condition. I currently live in Guam right now and was kinda worried about the packaging of my items, but like I said don’t even worry with CK, they will arrive in amazing condition, no issues. Sorry for the long message, just if anyone was wondering about the quality/“how are my cards gonna look on arrival”.

With my game group this same game would have taken at least two hours. There is little communication or pre-planning of the next turn so there's a lot of wasted time of people thinking of what they are going to do on that turn so games drag out. Everyone still has their fun--it just takes forever to finish.
