Id like to see a full video on that supermarket, especially on the prices compared to Australia. Food has gone through the roof here in Australia and it would be interesting to see if the sanctions have impacted prices and who is actually worse off. This looks like ours 30 years ago when malls were such wonders. They are gorgeous. These vids are very entertaining but they have little to do with the "economy". Russia's economy has many elements - exports, freight and port, retail sales, tourism, natural resources, foreign investment, foreign deposits, gold sales, finished products from imports, internal business like constructions, airports and factories. When half of these have been hurt and the rest decimated it doesn't take a Harvard professor to see where this is headed. Note: All those stores "once closed" have announced they are open to sell off the rest of the stock or are open until the licensing agreement ends. Many have said they wanted to keep their staff as long as possible.

I wouldn’t expect these malls to slow down since people are getting used to the sanctions and businesses adjusting the the new reality. The only differences would be some businesses leaving Russia leaving Russian based businesses to take over and resume business under a new name. The major differences would be increased prices and no major Sales at these stores. The Russian Ruble will remain strong in Russia because their currency isn’t traded worldwide like before like North Koreas currency. And like North Korea the new Russia is now a fortress country so products mainly made in Russia will be sold. So sad since Russians can’t even travel for vacations or education are are limited to places only within Russia.
