Nice! I have appreciated these videos, I’m actually rebuilding my father in laws 83 gl1100 has been a pretty cool project although I’m a fan of Harley’s, but a project is a project and as long as your knees are in the wind I can’t complain

Well, I took have rebuilt the carbs, dealt with a coolant leak in the crossover, replaced starter and a few other things, I attempted the POR 15 coating that didn’t work to well, mind me asking what the red stuff you used was called? Also what did you use to remove the rust

No, it would not. They are not in the way in this bike.
      Thanks for watching!

I bought an 82 GL1100 interstate last year and im starting to wrench on it this year... Im changing the fuel pump litterally today as i type this. What sort of grease did you use for the worm gear for the tach (mine is not working) also where do you get your parts, im currently getting mine through honda direct and partzilla but always looking for new places to shop. lol

I get my parts from partzilla and ebay. I do not know what the proper lubricant to use, if any. I do not know, but did not see any holes, if it is lubed with engine oil. You can either use bearing or lithium grease. Something that will stay on the gears if no engine oil.
Pull the center cable out of the outer sheath of the tachometer cable located at the fuel pump. Clean and lubricate (look up what would be good to use). Clean the cable going to the tach. If you can get to the cable at the tach end would enable you to clean and lube the best.
      Have fun!
