I came into this expecting a remix of “Backside of the TV” in the usual Sapphire quality, but my heart wasn’t ready for the transitions to “Mass Destruction” and “Master of Shadows.” You keep outdoing yourself. This made my Valentine’s Day.
Memento Mori is a Latin phrase that may be freely translated as "Remember that you are mortal." _Remember that you will die._ Remember your death. Memento mori. Instant chills. Amazing as usual.
@@karis4600 now i was recently in a debate if q3 would happen who theyd use if atlus would introduce p1 or the p2 games or maybe later with p6 most said it died with the 3ds and has no chance of a different console but this is how they could do it just make it with actual story like P4D
One thing I've always loved about Backside of the TV/Studio Backlot is how the addition of the second phrase to the repeat changes the tone a lot. Like, compare the lines: *Darkness, endless, despair, fear no more* *(Darkness) Lost destiny, (endless) far outcry, (despair) they hear you, fear no more* Personally I think it becomes way more hopeful, (especially if you only read the new lines and ignore the brackets) which is *super* interesting lyrically.
It could also go the complete opposite direction, too. "(Darkness) lost destiny, (endless) far outcry, (despair) they hear you, fear no more" Losing destiny to darkness, you cry out for an answer, you despair that *they* have heard you. But do not fear, the end will come soon. It's a really neat song either way you read it.
What I expected: A classic Sapphire cover of a persona song What I got: An absolute fire mashup of Backside of the TV and Mass Destruction This was amazing and completely caught me off guard!
Oh wow.. It says something about how well this flows together that I only just now realized this is a mashup!! Caught it on spotify a ton, but I just assumed it was all one song. THIS IS SO GOOD
Wow! This slaps! The transition into the other songs blew my mind. They’re all so polished and sound so GOOD. This has got to be my favourite persona remix out there.
personally I think Memento Mori is more pointing towards 'don't think of yourself as immortal. Remember that it's very possible you could die'. I think it fits the theme of the game a lot better than the translation more often thrown around the community.
It's the translation the game uses, though. "Remember that you will die" works better because depending on how you read "you" in the sentence could mean literal death or metaphorical death of the current "you", allowing much more flexibility in application. Both cases are applied throughout P3 in Social Links, the plot itself, and depending on if you interpret gameplay as storytelling, the main character picking up, fusing, and discarding Personas.
Darkness, endless ,helpless, dreadful fate. You described how my fight with shadow yukiko went Also the way you did the whole memento moria part gave me chills. That was amazing
I've recently discovered Sapphire and now I have to listen to all of the covers on repeat. I've even started to look at her non-persona covers as well. I hope she doesn't quit anytime soon. I've even put her up as the same ranking as lotus juice when it comes to persona. To me, they are the two main singers of the fandom. When mass destruction came on I thought that I had accidentally switched songs again, but when I checked I hadn't actually. Normally I don't do cross remixes of songs but this was pulled off incredibly well, never thought these two would go well but it does. I really like how it's not just a cover of the original. (2:04 this part gave me fallout vibes. C:) I also really liked how the video has the lyrics at the bottom and in sync. Not many have that and I wish they did. Try and listen to this while walking, I ended up walking to it. It's a good song to listen to in the morning when going somewhere. She really has a nice and distinctive voice, I can recognise it instantly (in my swam of uncategorized downloads which has made me regret not making playlists about five hundred songs ago).
Its weird how there are like no covers of this song, and I really liked the rythem this version has. I do like the mash up, but I'd love to hear a full cover of backside. I really love it's jam. The vocals as well, it's all so good
Compare Valentine’s Day to this remix of a song, and you WILL get hit with a flood of emotion and dread, will you ride the wind with no caution or have the best of times with your friends with no preparation or expectations for what is to come ahead?
Dude, I've heard the TV Land music for over 600 hours between the original ps2 release, Vita's golden, and the Steam Version and I never heard lyrics. Congratulations on making me question my reality. Hat's off to you, Sapphire, making me learn something new today, jeez
not only is the queen of persona covers bringing her usual lovely voice but the people she has on the track with her are bringing their A game as well very nice!

Yes it’s quite impressive how creative someone can be with someone else’s work.
Hey, I still won't forgive you for League of Legends Pokemon 😤
I just realized the album cover is Rise's shadow
backside of the tv is criminally underrated in general
Honestly been one of my top 3 p4 songs
It had no right to go so hard but it did anyway
I just started p4g a few days ago and haven't been able to get backside of the tv outside of my head. It's so good
2:50 This is the best part of that song. Master of Shadows from Persona 3 makes it even better.

This is purely awesome. You should do “Pursuing My True Self.” It doesn’t get many covers.

That "Remember that you will die" just reminded me so much of Nyx during the boss fight. It's been 2 years and I still love this cover.
