@@justanotherweirdo11 I literally thought that Ultra Despair Girl's "yeah yeah yeah" music would be a perfect substitute for the free time music in this game when I first heard it. The graphics look like UDG's too. And the story is mostly about building friendship with strangers met in strange circumstances, just like UDG. This game gave me a big UDG vibe. I'm not complaining of course, I love UDG. There's something about anime-style games and music. For some reason they always have excellent music.
I have no idea why I love this song so much; I just do. Honestly, I have the weirdest love/hate relationship with this game. I don't have much of a desire to play it as much as I have for P3 and 5, but I'm always oddly drawn to this game even when I don't want to play it.
You sound like adachi because honestly this is one of my favorite persona games I mean I'll enjoy 3 and 5 but still think this will be my favorite or close with 5 but the music and everything else is amazing in this game
I feel you on a kinda flipped way. It's easily my least favorite of the modern persona games, but I can easily sink hours at a time when I play it, much moreso than the other two. I once stayed up until 5:30 in the morning playing it because time passed by so fast.
I'm kinda in a similar boat. I wouldn't say I have a love/hate realtionship with the game, but for me it's like I can recognize that there's various aspects of P3 and P5 that are better than P4, but for whatever reason P4 sucks me in the most and is the game I feel the most nostalgic over. Maybe it's the townsy homey atmosphere that brings that nostalgic feeling. When I was younger me and my friends would just hang out at the mall all day and that youthful simplicity is captured well in P4. Though P3 and P5 have much grander stories and higher stakes, I think the memorable characters and down to earth setting are what sell P4 to me.
@@a_nervous_wreck I think the reason is because P4 has the best character development, the P3 cast feels like a bunch of comrades, P5 feel like classmates, or friends. But for Persona 4, it's different, they see each other's lowest points, which makes a bond akin to family to them. So P4 cast feels more like really close friends or family. And yeah, the town atmosphere only amplifies that feeling
For me it's the rhythm, drum, and bass that makes this particular track candy to my ears... (who here afks in the hub world just to listen??) P4 is also possibly my least favorite of the modern Persona games and it's probably for the same reason as everyone else - the atmosphere. There are very deep, real, and mature themes and messages in 3 and 5, but P4 feels more like it's only *trying* to be deep by focusing on the basic shadow theory of Carl Jung, which we already know is written into just about every other Persona game...all the while carrying this light-hearted Scooby-Doo vibe...which doesnt really make this installment very original in that regard... (I actually wouldnt throw away that vibe, though - this game would be worse without it. It may not be my favorite flavor, but it's a flavor that works with the game.) For a game that is rated M, a player would expect to experience a not-so-kiddy vibe, at least in the West. (The good doggo in P3 is the cutest mascot imo and Mona fits perfectly in P5 as a real cat in the real world and cartoon cat in the Palaces...which works considering the warped nature of them. But that bear...........) Regardless of my negative feelings on the *flavor* of P4 though, it's still a pretty good and enjoyable game. It still carries the qualities that made its predecessor so much fun to play and chew on. It's still got it's replayability, which is a sign that it's a great game. P4 was my gateway drug to the SMT franchise (now more of a core series fan, but I still enjoy Persona), though I did wish I had come into P3 first. (Parents never allowed it at the time lol. The evokers got them spooked.) P4 has to be the weirdest and most cartoonish of the modern core persona series and still my least favorite but from an objective standpoint, I still can't not acknowledge it as a great game worthy of an award or five.
This song is the perfect encapsulation of the game imo. May sound happy and commanding, but dig further into it and it has a more twisted theme lying within. DISCLAIMER: I’m playing it for my first time ever since it got a PC port

This song is a big adachi diss track
I can't name a single track in the entire game that's bad and doesn't fit it's location.
the theme for tartarus is a bit lame

Go to sleep ‘bout that.
Go to sleep what
Darkness, endless, despair, fear no more
Coldness, blackened, no sound, feel no pain
Captured, helpless, ultimate, dreadful fate
Powerless, lifeless, no breath, falling down
(Darkness) Lost destiny, (endless) far outcry, (despair) they hear you, fear no more
(Coldness) Numb feeling, (blackened) whole dizziness, (no sound) deep scars, feel no pain
(Captured) No sanity, (helpless) body aching, (ultimate) control your, dreadful fate
(Powerless) Invisible, (lifeless) real enemy, (no breath) ruin your mind, falling deep down
Down down to the base,
The sound you’re about to hear is deep down hip hop,
What you gone do when they start to come up,
Well they’ve already come up to surround you up,
To dis you at a world cup but I guess it depends,
On how you gone behave in that moment,
Huh, a moment of truth tell me what’s really happening,
Their rhyme is nothing but you’ve got everything,
Bro, you’ve got everything but you dunno anything
(Darkness) Lost destiny, (endless) far outcry, (despair) they hear you, fear no more
(Coldness) Numb feeling, (blackened) whole dizziness, (no sound) deep scars, feel no pain
(Captured) No sanity, (helpless) body aching, (ultimate) control your, dreadful fate
(Powerless) Invisible, (lifeless) real enemy, (no breath) ruin your mind, falling deep down
