    Got my EV6 GT-Line last Friday (arrived on the same lorry as the dealer's demonstrator car) . I think it is terrific and a great drive. Should I have got the AWD model - maybe - though the RWD feels pretty quick and of course the power is immediate. I bought mine on a whim when I was just considering an EV and saw an advert to put down a £100 returnable deposit to get to the front of the order queue in May. I don't think I will regret it.

    I drove one today phenomenal build quality and style. I was blown away by equipment level refinement and price. You can't ignore Kia as a brand anymore they are now producing premium cars at volume prices. And the 7 years parts and labour warranty including the battery is industry leading. Interestingly the Kia sales executive told me that the EV6 is only the start with Kia well on the way to producing 11 new models within the next 18 months to 2 years. And a complete range of EV models from supermini to large executive saloon. I ordered my EV6 GT Line S model today which will arrive in March 22 but the dealers are under seige with EV6 enquiries and they are selling out fast. So if you want one you'll need to be quick because the order bank is filling up rapidly. First time in a while I've been excited about a new car. I can't wait

    I've ordered a EV 6 Gt Line s AWD should deliver in February. Had a 4 hour test drive in a RWD with GT line s specs. Absolutely brilliant. Know my dealership quite well having bought 6 Kia's over the years. When I took the EV 6 back after my afternoon drive, the Boss said do you want it for a weekend in November. So in 2 weeks getting it from 9 am Friday until 5pm Monday......that's the way to treat a customer.

    Great video James. Kia had a slippery slope to get most people taking the brand more seriously, and as much as I liked rooting for the underdog of Kia's Stinger GT, it hasn't been much of a sales success compared to its German rivals - to be fair, the fake vents was not a good idea! Now that various countries are making bans to new petrol-car sales by 2030, Kia and Hyundai do have a chance to be in a level-playing-field to make a decent electric car, instead of playing the catch-up game like they have been doing for the past few decades. Wish them all the success with this EV6. Keep up the great work guys 👍

      Kia/Hyundai have changed the automotive industry more than any other company (save maaaaybe Tesla) in the last decade and a half.
      Their warranties, crazy amount of standard equipment on base models, and standard safety equipment on base models that other companies put in their top trims. This past decade they haven't been playing catch-up, they've been leading the way.
      They have caused other companies to change warranties, put more safety features standard and put more tech/features on base trims.

      @@coreygarcia622 I'm talking about the UK market, not the US market. These Korean brands have had greater sales increases in the US market but most people in the UK are badge snobs and stick to what they're familiar with. Regarding the sports sedan segment, the Kia Stinger V6 hasn't been doing well in the UK as much as it has done in the US. Most people in the UK would still rather have the Audi S5 Sportback, BMW 440i GranCoupe etc.

    The model at the LA auto show had cheap hard plastic rear dorr panels---bolts visible at the bottom. The cool-looking rear light strip was peeling off as in person it is low grade. I spent almost 15 minutes inside playing with knobs etc---all cheap. The shiny plastic around the center and each front door was already scratched. If you GOOGLE the platform shared with Hyundai you'll see 2" coil springs, standard shocks, and A-frames with bushings upfront-----nothing new-all carried over from the ICE models. The motors could have been axial types like Lucid and Rivian but they are buying on the open market and building not in-house. I say all this as I have ( or maybe had ) a first edition reservation for US 58K. However, the looks are polarizing and the screens looked cool on UA-cam-in real life the pixel density is better in my 2018 Clarity. Just test drive before buying

As masters of adaptation, they are well poised to become a dominant provider of desirable transportation during the clean energy revolution we have only recently entered. In this brave new world, there will be winners and losers, just like every other world before. But in this one, I believe Hyundai/Kia will be winners.

    Unable to see the blind spot because the b-pillar blocks all visibility so you really need the Plus model with the camera to see anytrhing.

    • @amperformance7998
      @amperformance7998 2 роки тому

      Markets may be a little different, but here in Australia, the GT-line (which is similar in spec to the GT-line S in the UK), costs only slightly more than a Model 3 LR. Model Y pricing hasn't been announced yet, but it will surely be more expensive than the EV6, with similar range. Sure, the MY has a few advantages, like acceleration, slightly more cargo space, sentry mode...and that's about it.
      The EV6 is better built, more refined, better looking inside and out, has a better warranty, is far more comfortable with better seats and a nicer ride (very important for hauling kids around), has lots of useful features that are conspicuously absent from the Tesla (800v, V2L, cooled seats, HUD, 360° camera, blind spot camera, a sunroof that can be covered, actual physical controls...)
      The EV6 is objectively as good as a MY, and would serve most families better.

      Probably not for a very long time, Cestrian52!!!!
      Given the battery and production constraints for EVERY electric vehicle manufacturer, I suspect EV makers will for many years only produce those variants that have the widest appeal and potential sales - ie, SUVs (and pickup trucks in the USA, LOL !!)
      Of course you could always put a deposit on the $250,000 Tesla Roadster 2 coupe, which was revealed in 2017........if you’re willing to wait 10, 20 or 30 years for delivery 🙄☹️
