But LEGO never claimed that they couldn't sell figs individually... it's a popular theory in the fan base, but a fan theory turning out to be wrong isn't being lied to by the company.
As someone who is new into the Lego Star Wars space (less than or just about a year of collecting and building) I do find it disheartening not being able to buy minifigs or have those random bags to get some figs as well. Somehow a Han Solo action figure would be OK as long as it is sold with a replica (not lego) toy Falcon? It just does not pass even the most basic logic tests. What is considered a set vs a figure? It's fine that they don't want to sell minifigures, it's a good business move. But the fact they LIED to is is very disappointing. We deserve a apology ASAP
Last year I even found the A-Wing Pilot and more licensed minifigures sold seperatly at the Leicester Square lego store, the biggest lego store in the word.
The thing is, they could still make a load of money off this, and arguably even more. A lot of kids don't have the ability to splash out $200 on a set, and would be lucky to get it as a birthday or Christmas present. But they could easily afford a minifigure a week or something to grow their collection.
If anything we are in time for it to happen and be better than ever. I would have hated to have those old clone troopers from 2005. Now they mostly do exclusive designs for cmf.
and they would be right to do so, buisiness wise. these products are really hard to balance and to help stores selling them. If there are only 3 good figures in a box, people will find them soon enough and the rest will be super hard to sell afterwards. A store paying a box 300 to sell 5 packs at 4 dollars each would really soon figure out that it's a garbage product to stay away from. This form of collectible is meant to be randomized and trigger gambling addiction, while someone interested in one or two should go to secondary market to buy the one he likes and not losing money. And I'm telling you this while I used to search bags in some stores to find the figures I like most.
@@Esvald nobody forces you to go to this kind of product. there are other ways to get the figures without gambling for them. Damaging the box to find the one you like is like scratching every ticket to buy only the winning one or cracking open boosters of magic cards to only pick the one with value cards. let's all be honest here for a second : if we all went to a store and found an half empty display with obviously searched packs, would we bother to even pick one? IF you don't like this kind of gambling, wich is by any mean admirable, then there are other means to get THE figure you want
Lego creating new themes that will require a bunch of new moulds (Ninjago, Chima, Minecraft, Cars, Friends,...): New moulds! New moulds for everyone! Lego now, with anything that isn't the sequel trilogy: ah new mould? Really? Another one? Uuugh, if we have to. >:(

The answer is simple: why sell a figure for $5 when you have years of proof that people will pay $100 for a set that "exclusively" includes that figure?
Lego: *Thinking about how lying about this makes them more money* Me: *Thinking about how much money I could've given to Lego over the years for CMF's*
But Lego hasn't actually claimed that Star Wars minifigs can't be sold individually. So they've not lied! People just bought into a fan theory that turned out to be misinformed...
Nathan Kuberski I did mate. Not once did they specifically state that they couldn't sell minifigs individually. They made vague allusions to some restrictions on licenses regarding buildable figures, but it was far from specific and licenses change. Accusing the Lego group of lying is a stretch and then some.
Some collectors choose what they collect. Personally, I can't afford buying large sets and don't have the room to display them anyways. Also, I have been more of an action figure collector, more specifically. Hence, I started collecting Lego minifigures, as they are easier to display. I got into collecting Star Wars Lego minifigures only because I could find them online sold separately from the sets, for which was the only way to get most if not all Star Wars Lego minifigures in general. Then there were Star Wars minigfigures you can buy as keychains and with magnets. So I have a few Star Wars minifigures with hole on top of their heads where I removed the keychain part. Eventually, I found sellers on eBay selling the minifigures separately from the sets. Not to mention some sellers on eBay just sell minifigure assorted parts and I had to piece together Star Wars minifigures. While it has been fun to browse eBay and find pieced together minifigures knowing the torso, leg, or head is actually part of a specific Star Wars minifigure only available in a Lego, and rebuilding the minifigure as it should be, I could have saved so much money if the minifigures had been sold individually. I have also started to buy a few custom minifigures, I still value more the real Lego minifigures and keep my collection or authentic Lego minifigures separate from the few custom ones I have purchased.
@@_valstrax_8748 Yes you can. However, the copyright for most bricks is over now and has been for a while. That's why Mega Construx can sell sets. The legal issues with knock offs now is not the bricks. Technically, they could legally sell a knock off set. The problem is the instructions and the box art are copyrighted. That's why a lot of those companies now won't include paper instructions, but rather refer you to the Lego website or email you a PDF. Now minifigures are a separate issue because those are LEGO's trademark, which is how they can try to stop some things (and why some KO companies won't include figures). But, the point is Lego did not invent the interlocking brick, but rather stole the concept from someone else and didn't give him a dime. Lego has been shady from the very beginning and this is just another example of it. That doesn't mean I don't love their product, but also why we should recognize that Lego doesn't care about us. They just want our money and always have.

Perpetuating a myth to continue profiting off loyal fans willingly forking over their money is shady business and is morally bankrupt. Businesses shouldn't lie to customers just because they're a business and "can do what they want". That's ridiculous.
LEGO Romania (which is a franchise) is still selling some lego star wars figures :) ex: the han solo mud trooper polybag (20RON-4DOLLARS); DJ polybag (same price); rebel a wing pilot (same price); the first order general(same price). So, you might said that these figures are left in stock from previous years (which is unlikely). BUT. I have seen some of them out of stock and the next week back in stock.(the a wing pilot for example, which is a 2016 polybag:)). This means 1 thing, lego is still producing this for some countries, or they made a huge stock when those were produced and now lego romania is selling this stock, which is sooo unlikely if you ask me. Unfortunately, we don't have the magazine and the foilpack, however this intrigues me.

I just wanna say how my boo used the same photo of himself from last video and this one lmaooo 😂😂
Just imagine the amount of amazing figures we could have in a stars wars cmf line? It’s unfortunate lego is not interested in doing one.
Yup, if they sell exclusive, desirable figs in expensive sets, they will make more money, in the end, they don't care 😔
The thing is, they could still make a load of money off this, and arguably even more. A lot of kids don't have the ability to splash out $200 on a set, and would be lucky to get it as a birthday or Christmas present. But they could easily afford a minifigure a week or something to grow their collection.
To be honest it’s actually a good thing because I don’t want one at all
@@csquire667 don’t want what?
If anything we are in time for it to happen and be better than ever. I would have hated to have those old clone troopers from 2005. Now they mostly do exclusive designs for cmf.

Honestly, if Lego does make a Star Wars CMF, they're probably going to put it in boxes just to get back at you for making this.
and they would be right to do so, buisiness wise. these products are really hard to balance and to help stores selling them.
Literally everyone will be damaging the boxes in retaliation. Even the store employees would be doing it.
@@vincentperon2950 It's irl gacha/lootboxes. The last thing I need when I use up my hard earned money on collectibles tbh.
@@chillbill9333 It's happened before. And even if they don't, the customers will.

That Lego itself is a knock off company because they stole the design of interlocking bricks from someone else.
@@wesandell not really.. Does that make mega construx a knock off company? You can't copyright a plastic brick.
