    Would you pick the tour version over the standard ezone?

    Thanks for the review. The extra weight on the Ezone Tour is not at the top but actually around 3 and 9. That's why it has a significantly higher Twistweight than your Vcore 95 and feels more stable. The downside is that the extra weight using graphite at 3 and 9 also increases the hoop stiffness and that's why so many complain of elbow pain playing with the Tour whereas they find the smaller headed Vcore 95 fairly comfortable. PS. The closer string pattern of the Tour also adds the extra string bed stiffness. The Tour was a HUGE PASS for me because of All of the above.

    Thanks for the review! Would love to see you test/compare this (and the regular EZ98) with....the Ezone 98 PLUS. Given the similar swingweight to the Tour, but more headlight and probably 'feel', it would be great to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

      Sounds like a great video idea Peter. I’ve got a few racquets I’m reviewing now like the blade v8 but I’ll add that to the list of reviews to do. Thanks for watching!

    My 98 Tour is slightly off spec at 312g unstrung so I ended up "clicking" two Canadian 10 cent coins (1.75g each) inside the butt cap cover. They fit exactly in the round opening :-) Also added 1g of tungsten tape around the bottom flare of the grip. So I have it at 316.5g unstrung. By adding 1.20mm strings and no dampener, I'm 2-3 points more headlight. So I didn't increase the swing weight and ended up with a stick that has the same static weight as an "on spec" Tour with thicker strings and dampener but more headlight and feeling more manoeuvrable. I really like it.

    Just did a demo and absolutely loved this racquet. I didn't have any arm pain, but I am a little worried about the weight if I were to add a leather grip to this. Do you think I would be better off getting the regular Ezone 98 and then adding lead tape at 9 and 3 to come close to this spec?

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  2 роки тому +2

      Hey Matthew, I think that would be a good idea if you like tinkering and customizing your racquets. Always easier to add weight to a lighter racquet. Thanks for watching!

    I started with the Ezone tour. After several competitive matches, I made the switch to Vcore 95. that 10g difference is just too much. the racquet was too hard to manoeuvre. at rec level play on synthetic grass, I face a lot of short and low skidding balls. just too hard to consistently get this racquet low and give the ball the required shape. also, serving accuracy wasn't great on this stick even though you can crunch first serves. VCORE 95 strung low (43-48) with 1.2 gauge poly plays superbly. really wished the Ezone tour worked for me, but there was too much racquet to handle.

    Hi Mike, I really enjoy your videos. I believe we share similar opinions on rackets. I use the head graphene 360+ prestige pro. I love the control, precision and stability. I dislike the small sweet spot when defending, volleying. I dislike that it's a bit too heavy and not maneuverable. I just used the wilson pro staff 100 v13 and it has the same precision, control and stability with a lighter, more maneuverable, more forgiving frame. I wanted to know if you've tried it and reviewed it?

      Hey Jimmy, thanks for the kind words! I haven’t tried it yet but from what you described, sounds like it might be a new fav. I’ll try to get my hands on it soon for a review!

    Had elbow pain when I demoed this racket as the beam width isn't consistent, especially that 4mm difference from the centre towards the throat. Osaka does not use this racket, she uses a modded Ezone 98 Ai, just like Kyrgios uses the Ezone 98 Xi. If yonex could improve on the racket, it would be best if they made it like the DR series they had previously, as this racket is less favoured by a lot of players due to its elbow pain when playing for much longer. I would like to see you review the new vcore pro series and how it compares to this racket and your vcore 95 as you may like it especially the vcore pro 97D or 97H.

    Great review. How does it compare to Pro Staff v13? I like the Pro Staff but power level is low. Wondering Ezone Tour can solve the lower power problem while being stable?

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  2 роки тому

      It’s a little harder to get racquet head speed on the swing compared with the pro staff but has a bit more power and is very stable. Sounds like it could be a good fit for what you’re looking for. I’d say worth a demo at least. Hope that helps and thanks for watching Manab!

    Nice review! If you take out "styling" and "cool factor" in your Mike score, the rankings change a lot. For example, the Wilson Ultra (my racquet) moves way up the list. Your viewers might appreciate a glimpse of the "play rankings" too. Im 49 and don't care so much about styling :)

    Hi.. How do you compare ezone 98 tour with the head extreme tour? Thanks

    • @MikeKomen
      @MikeKomen  2 роки тому

      They feel quite different. I prefer the extreme. You get some easier topspin and power from it. I have to say that control was a bit better with the ezone but overall the extreme was much easier for me to use and play well with. Thanks for the comment Ruben!

    You have really unorthodox form, Mr Komen.
    Not sure if it's because your tall. Feet seem heavy when you move. Besides your serve, might need to polish up your ground strokes and footwork.

    Haven't watched yet, but, Mike.. I look at my subscription feed daily and this video was not on it any time I refreshed. Think the algorithm is hiding you for some reason. I dunno if I buy the algorithm conspiracy stuff.. but it's definitely not having you with any of my other videos on the 8th. Very weird.

      Thanks for letting me know Jim! No clue why.. maybe because I don’t have a regular upload schedule? Or maybe since I’m a small channel it’ll only show my videos if the notifications are activated? Those are my guesses. Either way thanks for searching up my video!
