See, UA-cam has been showing me a lot of AEB and collision warning videos, so I thought this was going to be a video about a warning the driver got about a pedestrian. When I started watching the video I was thinking "okay, parking building with no one in sight, but eerie music playing. Is the car about to point out a pedestrian that isn't actually there?" Then he moved the camera outside and I heard the sound change and I realised that the car was making the sound
Hopefully you'll never encounter a Karen intentionally blocking your car to desperately record "noise evidence" of the backup alarm intended for SAFETY (in warning pedestrian, animal, and blind people) like I did in the past... 🚗🎶🔊
The earlier models had a much nicer sound that didn't sound like a demented ghost. This is a downgrade... especially considering how loud it is now. It's as loud as an idling ICE. So much for a quieter world with EVs... sigh.
@@aidan1585 no it doesn’t. People can learn to adapt. Why not complain that modern ICE engines are too quite compared to the clattering beasts of the 70s.
@@User-cb4jm Loud as in similar noise to a internal combustion engine vehicle. There is an EU law behind it, that's why every electric car from 2019 and later need to emit a noise that is audible from a distance
There’s a few cars round here with similar sounds and it’s the loudest type of car that comes down our street (that’s stock) including quite powerful cars. Just silly
I didn't have all that much time in the rear seat, but it wasn't too bad when I tried it out just to see. I'm roughly 6' tall and a good bit over 200 lbs. The front didn't feel any different than any other vehicle. I actually quite like how open the front is with the lack of a center floor console. Akin to the old 6 passenger sedans with the front bench. I believe the current Ionic 6 has a similar set-up.

Our Niro PHEV makes this same sound. I hate it, and it sounds like the brakes are worn out. My 2017 i3 makes no sound at all. It has this thing called a horn, to warn people in my way. As if people can't hear tire noise.
Makes pedestrians aware of you by sound, but also by fear. Nice.
Sounds like what people in the 60s-80s thought cars would sound like in the future.
this is what cars sound like in the future (now)
Then it seems they were right.
It's what I dreamed they'd sound back in the 80s, took a bit longer to arrive than I was expecting, I was hoping for hovercars by the year 2000 😂
Fan fact: if you are killed by an i3 you will hear this sounds welcoming you haven too
How do you fuck up “into heaven” so bad it comes out “you haven too”

When you crash, it plays the PS2 bootup sound
😅

Gotts says it sounds beautiful, like low fidelity music...
At one point sounds like a speedy UFO then sounds like the gates of heaven opening up lol
Sounds like angel
Sounds like a horrible noise on a old 45 played backwards.
You can be sure that if I ever buy an i3 it will shortly have 1 less electronic noisemaker!
Max rpm 11400 ?
Boy will you be in a lot of trouble in an event of low speed pedestrian collision.
its like the reversing sound of honda crv hybrid version
Walk towards the light 😮
Ngl, reading the title I thought it was a system that warned you of creepy pedestrians 😭
Is that a choir when Wells takes ice cream?
I like it. But I find it strange 🤔 that it is not a standard option for 2015 model
i need this as a synth now.
A child is lost in the matrix!
😅
Can it be turn off? does it get turn off when the car is at higher speed?
Unusual looking infotainment system for an i3. What trim is that?

the scarier part is how do you comfortably fit in a bmw i3 it looks so cramped and small

Hyundai has the same pedestrian sound

Dude 😂
Thereafter I guess the best safety noise is in Nissan Leaf 2012-18
it feels like it's angelic tbh
Ghost from Halo?
The pedestrian warning is when someone runs out in front of the car and the car will beep and brake if going slower than 40mph.n
Interesting
lol the sound like reverse chime in hyundai
i3 actually has a decent one, i dont mind it. some other cars make annoying sounds, like tesla is super annoying. i3 sounds like a spaceship
before the hans zimmer times
Doesn't sound any worse than the ID.4's
Anyone know how to BimmerCode this off?
I have A BMW IX And BMW I3S and they have this
